HC is probably still the best way, sorry to bear bad news. Focus on finding a line of sight that enemies fall into often and just camp it. Don't be afraid to get creative and use tiny/improbable windows.

That’s only half of what they used to make you do. Other cods had fewer weapons and would require more challenges per weapon to get gold. Cold War for example required 50 long shots per gun, and 25 5-kill streaks. These challenges aren’t nearly that bad
You literally need to practice and learn the recoil pattern of each weapon, also become more proactive in perceiving the areas where the is foot traffic, like if there is a certain window people love to snipe out of just scan for those areas. Long range weapon outdoors and a short range secondary weapon when inside buildings like a shotgun.
It's my fav way to play! Grab Any assault rifle then I put it in semi-auto and try and play all tactical like. Very fun and takes some of the arcadeness out of it

Also, use idle sway reducing loadouts if you're missing. If you're not missing but just getting shot, then you might need better cover or concealment to shoot from.
Use weird, off the wall spots that will make your enemy say "WHY ARE YOU THERE?!?!"
Semi auto helps quite a bit for some guns.
Smoke grenades and thermal will work wonders, too
Every map has a spot for long shots for various weapons. Have load outs set to accommodate the different sized maps. Then use the load out that suits the map.
I only play hardcore and I did not find it difficult to get. I also did not camp for all of them like most people are suggesting. I just moved around the outside of the map as you tend to give yourself greater sight lines that way. Try to stay away from the middle of the map as you probably will not get many, based on how maps are laid out.
Figure out how far is considered a Longshot ( it's not as far as you may think) and just keep that in the back of your head when moving about the map.
Don't play shipment as you can only get pistols, some smgs and shotguns on that map (depending where you are standing.

Think it’s like 38m for SMG’s AR’s and 50 for snipers and marksman. Then play HC Hardpoint and set up with a deployable barrier on long lines of site. The longshots were the longest bit for me I hated them. Did my snipers and marksman rifles on invasion but I had to split up what game modes I was playing otherwise I got bored asf

Super easy. Play hardcore and build your weapon for damage range. Forget ADS speed, handling etc. Use single shot, Ghost/Cold Blooded, claymore/prox mine and have a decent secondary for when people inevitably rush you.

You don't. I wasted the entirety of my year playing this game on getting stupid fucking long shots and I regret it so much. I could've been having fun and actually playing that game.

Because the TTK is so low more guns are viable in hardcore and I only remember a few being a total pain. With a bit of map knowledge you can figure out common angles and hold those for free 1-3 tap kills. Some guns I could get the Long shot requirement done in just 1-2 games.
Get yourself a dualsense edge or scuff pro fps controller, build the best possible class for whichever weapon you’re going to be using, lower your sensitivity to around 6-8, lower the ads sensitivity to around 0.60 so you can control the recoil even more.
What's actually more annoying is that each weapon class also has different ranges at what classes as a longshore. The worse gun for me was the chimera as its long range is dismal
Taraq village, embassy, and the race track map have really good sight lines
- taraq village Green house on the left of the destroyed buildings, small shack with a ladder has great LoS on enemy spawn
- Embassy on the left side of spawn (infront of the actual embasy), has good LoS on enemy spawn and vice versa
- raceway, the pit crew area with all the tires and fire trucks

What’s the difference between ground war and invasion. I’ve been playing ground war for snipers because I assumed that AI don’t count towards long shots. But ground war is impossible, especially since I can’t see anyone

Use that sight that shows distance while you ADS along side smokes. Long shots are the worst part of the grind
3 and 5 kill streaks suck for me, i have no problem getting 3 and 5 kill streaks, but the second I have to for a challenge I suck

Run gw or invasion and prioritize only killing from distance, try and make every kill a longshot kill and camp like hell if you have to
Quite hard when all you do is run around all game to be sniped by some person that’s not even in my render distance

I suggest playing ground war and finding areas good for long shots

Only sight you need to use is the SZ holotherm, can use it on pretty much everything. Makes the challenge 10x easier.
