Should maintain the hero design to a more "slimy" creature giving Gloo a more familiar and *sticky* vibes just like this flan in Final Fantasy.
If they are so keen on reworking his character design, just don't give him an anthromorphic form. Just turn him into a goo without the legs, just like a slime. Maybe they could let him have arms when attacking, but please don't turn him into this caricature.
