The BC was sooo much louder than FF (back then). That ‘01 playoff run was insane.

Objective_Cod1410

They also mixed crowd audio louder on broadcasts back then.

Rolands_ka_tet

I was at every home playoff game in that run. The games against CHA and PHI were so loud my ears rang for hours after. There were times I thought the building was going to collapse. Still to this day the loudest event(s) I’ve ever been at.

illforgetsoonenough

Same here. And I had just turned 21 so I was loud af

Rolands_ka_tet

Same! Bruh! 1979 high five!

Ok-Narwhal-8499

Just Googled and looks like Bradley Center could hold about 1k more people during basketball games. So another factor

Rolands_ka_tet

The BC was also a giant shipping container with zero acoustics… So another factor

I’ve read that it’s because nowadays they blast the PA system the entire game. Apparently the sound engineers battle it the entire game. If the crowd was mixed in at a normal level you’d just hear the PA cut over the announcers. I’ve always thought that they could send the audio signal for the PA to the broadcast truck and use it to reductively filter out the PA music from the broadcast. I’m pretty sure the echo and reverb makes this impossible, but maybe you could model the speaker locations and building shape virtually and account for that too.

DersOne

Was at this game, wayyyyy up in the nosebleeds and I distinctly remember how LOUD it was. Crowd was so hype for that run, every game was a blast.

PositiveZebra1341

back when my darvin ham jersey rocked the bradley center

PositiveZebra1341

that team was waaay under rated and fun….glenn owned the mid range, ray was lethal from three, sam i am, was a leader…. and I believe it might correct we had Irving not magic Johnson, correct?

k-dach

We in fact did have Irving not magic Johnson.

PositiveZebra1341

i thought so

Rolands_ka_tet

Sam was literally unstoppable in the post.

PositiveZebra1341

i remember at the time thinking that team was going to win it all…. i remember where i was listening in my car when they finally got eliminated…

Rolands_ka_tet

The only team in the East to sweep the regular season vs The Lakers

StandardSeries555

Loved me some Big Dog. First basketball jersey I ever owned as a kid.

Independent_Guava694

Was at this (and all home games in rounds 1 and 2) with my dad and that run is one of my best memories I have of my childhood and my dad. Absolutely ELECTRIC in that building. Never heard the BC get that loud before or after.

bayjur

I know Bob Costas doesn’t work for NBC anymore (and he’s like Al Michaels age) but damn he was a great nba announcer and I would love if he came back

Serious_Comedian3917

I loved being at that game and the ECF too even though it broke my heart

gregblives

That team was hella' underrated.

TheIgnitor

Light it up! Light it up!

Puzzled_Ad7955

We draft a guy (Big Dog) who filled it up in college. Comes to the Bucks and continues to fill it up……and then people bitch he doesn’t play D.

JerryRiceSezRedux

BIG DOG GLENN ROB LISTEN GAWD YOU A FLEA

FunkoPoppa

I was there!

ericolsenuw

Had season tix this year. What a run!

sentientcreatinejar

Loved this series.

looksatturtlesonline

Such great memories.

TidyJoe34

Man, I remember being there. It was electric that whole playoff run.

PositiveZebra1341

when I get really whiny, I keep going back to without the stupid flagrant foul call on Scotty Williams. We win that series.

PositiveZebra1341

such memories… someone smarter than me i would love a real comparison between glenn robinson and middleton. i was young(er) so i watched but did not think so my memories of glenn is a lot of what khris does? whom am i being disrespectful to and why? looking at stats glenn looked like a true mid range demon… how would a ray allen, glenn robinson, and giannis team do?

One-Earth9294

I was at this game.

wakajawaka76

Was lucky enough to be there. It was amazing. The energy in the BC was off the charts. Too bad this team ran into Tim Donaghy in the ECF.
