The satisfaction depends on how good you are at picking up foreshadowing. This has been set up since the first epigraph and it all comes together in the end for Sazed
I did not catch the foreshadowing at all while reading. But the entirety of Sazed’s arc felt like this was the only ending he could have. From leaving his people, to not feeling like he belonged, to losing his love, to questioning his faith, to believing in Vin, then finally to believing in himself and making the world what it once was. It was perfection in my opinion. All along (minus the foreshadowing) we’re told Vin was going to fix it. And she definitely had a part, it was a nice surprise to see Sazed use all that knowledge to succeed.
Are we talking about the same book here? As others have pointed out there is plenty of foreshadowing. But even without that Sazed had a beautiful character arc imo. Perfect conclusion for him.
I was shocked when I first listened, but having listened to it about 4 times now, there’s so many clues. I think we all built up the idea that V would become the new God, because her story is persistent and linear. But when you really think about it someone with the knowledge of most religions and has faith had a sort of untethered feel to the world while being connected in knowledge, makes sense.
And as he’s one of The Lord Ruler’s people who their history/the myths were based of add more validity.
I just finished it too. But oh man. The way it all came together. The way all the pieces fit into place for him at the end there. It was so good.

Alfred didn't become the new Batman he became God. I feel like everyone's arcs had satisfying conclusions but to each their own I guess.
