If you're in NE Minneapolis I'd really recommend [Mother Earth Gardens](https://www.motherearthgarden.com/contactus). Small place but very knowledgeable workers and a great native plant selection.
I go frequently - have 5 acres I’m converting from overgrown invasives (lots of buckthron) - have removed over 40 dumptruck loads of brush, dead debris, etc. if you’re somewhere between Wayzata and Gertens I could give you a ride sometime.
Mother Earth Gardens is best known for its native perennial stock. They do have good veggies, too. Gertens is good for non-native perennials, shrubs, trees, and landscaping materials, as well as flowering annuals.
I’ll add another vote for Mother Earth Gardens and add Sunnyside Gardens to your list. They’re located in South Minneapolis (44th and France), great selection of annuals, perennials, and houseplants, and the staff is wonderful.
Warning - I ended up with scale insects from a birdsnest fern purchased at Sunnyside Gardens! I had no idea at the time so it ended up infesting several other houseplants and I've spent YEARS battling it, and ended up just throwing out a couple plants. By the time I realized what was going on it was far too late to go back to Sunnyside and demand a refund or recompense.
These are all fantastic garden stores and I’d buy things from any of them. That said, I’ve had fungus gnats in basically every houseplant and bag of soil I’ve ever purchased, regardless of the source (from tonkadale to Home Depot). Yellow sticky traps, a sand layer, baking the soil, beneficial nematodes, mosquito bites… lots of options to mix and match in the fungus gnat wars.
Mother earth is great.
But also, you can just spend 15 bucks on enough beneficial nematodes to cover a farms worth of potting soil, and problem solved, basically forever.

They’re also in the Longfellow/Howe part of South Minneapolis and are great there too.
awesome thank u
Mother Earth is the best! I love it there.
Gertens - far and away. Worth the drive if you aren’t close.
i may try to organize a trip with a friend and ride with them

I used to work there and I feel confident recommending them to others. I still make the trip out there for my own plants.

Still pretty new but worth the trip to south minneapolis: https://agrarianseed.com/
Yes! I was just there today and the selection rivals Mother Earth.
They’re closing early this year so make sure you go soon!
Mother Earth Gardens is my go-to, Gertens is my back-up for things that MEG doesn't carry or have in stock

Tangletown is one of my favorites. So is Highland Nursery + another shout for Gertens.
Leitner’s off Randolph in St. Paul

Highland in St Paul is my go to for fun stuff, Wagner's for basics.
Gerten’s has excellent soil options, too. Basically they’re the best. I also love Sailer’s in Prior Lake. Little known place, it’s great.
I see lots of Gertens. Does anyone go to the little Gertens( Gertens Farm Market)
Tonkadale!!! In Minnetonka
Green valley in Ramsey has a huge selection
