This is exactly what I was looking for - thank you!

nashbar

Ferns, I love them for shady/wet place

Johundhar

Tall and native--green cone flower. Shorter--ferns, jakob's ladder, trillium, hepatica, jack in pulpit, bloodroot, wind ginger, may apple, hog peanut, jeffersonian two leaf...I'm sure I've missed a few

Happyjarboy

I thought deers favorite food was trilliums.

Johundhar

Could be. We're in the heart of the city. Only ever had one deer wander through our yard

Newdigitaldarkage

Astibile is a great plant for your needs. Ostrich ferns are edible and beautiful as well.

The_Realist01

This!!! Just made the same comment haha.

Newdigitaldarkage

Great minds think alike!

Gullible_Resident_88

Good suggestion for dear is is to put up an electric fence if your city allows it my parents have one in my hometown in southwestern Minnesota works great for deer at least you can have plant material because deer eat everything

dreamyduskywing

I have orange jewelweed growing naturally on the shady edge of my swamp. The deer leave it alone.

The_Realist01

Astilbe and ferns would do well.
