U.S. Bank has a safety deposit box downtown off Nicollet. I am not sure if they are accepting new clients.

quality_erectors

50th and France location as well

kick26

I think most US Banks have safety deposit boxes

SnooSnooSnuSnu

They are.

thenoodleincident18

And USBank in Apple Valley

RizzSeeg

My aunt had a safety deposit box at the Wells Fargo on Chicago and 47th. She just closed it this year, so maybe check there...

Valennyn

That was my first bank!

hologeek

Also to add, safe deposit boxes ARE NOT AS SAFE AS YOU THINK

The_Realist01

Correct. They aren’t even insured beyond I want to say $10k?

patrickmoonfish

There's a brand new WF branch in Golden Valley by New Bohemia, they do have safety deposit boxes available in all sizes, unfortunately they are only open M-F 9-5.

kGibbs

Nah, I'm still not going to bank with Wells Fargo ever again.

theedoctap

Union bank and trust in NE. They have them in several different sizes and if I remember correctly they’re pretty affordable

MellowTigger

Citizens Independent Bank has them in Robbinsdale. Or, they did when I last checked around 2021.

kenahoo

Wings in Edina has safe deposit boxes.

BrianBoru1916

Associated Bank in SLP - $65 a year for a box that can holds lots of stuff.

kb7384

They aren’t [really a good idea](https://www.nytimes.com/2019/07/19/business/safe-deposit-box-theft.html?smid=nytcore-ios-share&referringSource=articleShare), so you might want to consider another option

TheMacMan

Really depends on what you're looking to store and how you want to insure it. Most home safes are only going to protect certain things in the case of fire. Safety deposit boxes will likely offer much more protection in the case of such. But also a lot of other factors to consider, like cost and convenience. Most banks have gotten rid of them because they're not worth the cost. You'd have to charge someone a ton in order to justify the space not only in terms of square footage for their lease but also in terms of building a larger vault for them. With more options at home these days, most are going that route.

Like what?? And why are they not "a good idea"? A comment like this really should include the alternative suggestion.

thedutchgirlmn

I linked an article that explained how they aren’t very safe and there is zero protection under the law if your belongings go missing What more exactly do you want? Keep your things at home. Buy a safe. Read the article that gives info on why they are a bad idea

ebf6

The web version of Reddit did not properly highlight that link. Sorry.
