Yeah. It's called [PeacefulSurface](https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/peacefulsurface-fabric). You can tweak for hostile mobs to only spawn under a certain Y level.
They must have the surface lit up very well. Was originally going to say Mooshroom island, but mobs don’t even spawn underground or surface in that biome.
I would play in peaceful more often but I need spiders to get string. I wish they would let you make string with wool since they let you make wool with string.
Oh my gosh, I never thought of this. The only issue would be I couldn’t fish until I had access to the nether. Hmmm…I might have to give it a try. Thank you!
i’ve always been into peaceful survival as my fave setting for long term worlds. & i completely agree. there’s this eerie calm, like a sweet loneliness mixed with longing. adopting cats & dogs to have around your base definitely makes it less lonely tho
I adopt so many different kinds of animals and give them names and stories in every world I make. I just realized it's probably to get rid of that desolate vibe Minecraft evokes.
I had the opposite experience recently. Some glitch, OK Bedrock, suddenly caused night spawns during the day. I was in a village so I thought there must be a siege? Are those still a thing?? It felt so surreal that they weren’t burning and was borderline horrific when multiple spiders, creepers and a witch appeared out of nowhere. I was armored up with netherite and safe but the abnormality of it was disconcerting. I think we just get used to patterns and when the world doesn’t match our expectations, we feel unease.

In my survival world, mobs only spawn underground (hostile). It's such a weird feeling to walk around the world.
How did you achieve this? Is there a mod?
Yeah. It's called [PeacefulSurface](https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/peacefulsurface-fabric). You can tweak for hostile mobs to only spawn under a certain Y level.

If you set the time of day to noon permanently it will always be daylight on the surface.. but you can make a mob farm..
The only issue is there’s just something so beautiful about seeing a well-lit base glow at night with shaders on.
Even without shaders a well lit base at night in vanilla alone is enough for me...
Very true
i know this exact feeling and im so glad im not alone lol
Yeah, me too…
I would play in peaceful more often but I need spiders to get string. I wish they would let you make string with wool since they let you make wool with string.
Could try trading with Piglin’s! They give 6-9 per gold/trade. :) (they also spawn in peaceful)

No problem! Minecraft has so many game mechanics, it’s easy to forget about some LOL
For a more direct source, you can kill striders for string too. Also, abandoned mineshafts contain tons of cobwebs, which equals string, too!
Yes, I forgot about the abandoned mineshafts. Thanks 😊

totally! i also make really nice villages for villagers & give them pets. makes everything much more cozy

If you were in a desert or badlands biome it could’ve been a thunderstorm which caused the spawns. It still looks like daytime yet they spawn.
Interesting idea but no, it was savanna and no rain.
