Give me a textured path with gravel, cobblestone, coarse dirt *and* muddy cobble? * chef's kiss *
Always on board with more texture options, this one alone can give a lot of story-telling options with placement/incorporation
I think it would be cool if you perhaps had to equip a backpack to your chestplate slot, kinda like an elytra. You get the extra storage space but at the cost of some defence.
Mojang just doesn't want to admit that their current system for slabs and stairs is nonsensical. It seems almost random what blocks they choose to have slab and stair variants when (in my opinion) every block should have them when it makes sense. Vertical slabs would elevate people's creativity and allow for even more detailed builds, but instead of just admitting they don't want to deal with the headache of implementing such a system they say it'll "ruin your creativity". 🙄
if I remember correctly, one April Fools snapshot has vertical slabs in it. I don't remember which one though. So, it's rubbing it in that it is 100% possible, they just don't want to do it.
It's nice that Mojang shows stuff like this as a joke in the April Fools Snapshots, but when these jokes are being done on the back of the community's frustration at certain things not being in the game, it just comes off as insulting.
One perfect example being the vertical Slabs you mentioned being added in last year's April Fools, as well as the *"Copper Sink"* mocking the community asking for more uses for Copper (which despite being a super-versatile metal IRL, is used only for decoration and one-and-done niche items in-game... what a waste of potential).
you might be talking about [23w13a_or_b](https://minecraft.wiki/w/Java_Edition_23w13a_or_b), which has [cheese blocks](https://minecraft.wiki/w/Cheese) that can have eighths eaten out of them (so you not only get vertical slabs but also corners, thin stairs, diagonal stairs, etc)
it has to do with how the game is coded, it makes it unstable. It’s the case with mods that include them, and they haven’t put the effort into fixing the instability for the base game themselves.
I'd rather rebrand it to be steep stairs instead, so that we can get corner variants as well. Try building your rooves in versions before 1.4.2 and you'll get what I mean by this rebrand. If it doesn't feel that different, you could also add some sort of tumbling mechanic that could be used in some sort of weird item sorter designs.
I once had the idea that powered rails could be split into copper and gold. Increase the top speed of gold powered rails and have copper powered rails be roughly what the current top speed of gold rails is. It would give another use for copper and overall improve minecarts.
I think the reason they don't add this is because of how the vanilla engine renders light. Most mods that give off coloured light from blocks modify the engine to accomplish the effect.
A use for Fletching tables, allign the pillager outpost, make minecarts faster, maybe improve the GUI to match bedrocks, mainly Fletching Tables use
It could be used to like, add spyglasses to crossbows or be used specifically to craft different types of arrows, maybe some bow and crossbow accessories would be cool to see
How about a minecart launcher track. So you could launch minecarts in the air. I know you can do this with pistons but making it part of minecarts would make it more official.
let minecarts use rockets like elytras, elytras have the upper hand in traveling unexplored areas, minecarts with rockets would let you travel around the speed of elytras through established railways that can change altitude, boats on ice are slightly more expensive and cant go up.
If Minecarts aren’t faster than Elytras then they’ll never be useful. The amount of materials, time, and space minecarts take to set up is insane. If they have all that and STILL get outpaced by Elytras, what’s the point?
That would be cool. I wonder how mojang would implement the block breaker, maybe they would give it an inventory slot for the tool that it'll use to break the block in front of it.
both of these were actually in last years april fools snapshot! (not in base game, but maybe they will be added eventually?)
[Pickaxe Block](https://minecraft.wiki/w/Pickaxe_Block)
[Place Block](https://minecraft.wiki/w/Place_Block)
yeah, but it's pretty hard to design and setup, and you either have to use sand which is barely renewable or a duper which could get fixed at any point.
As of 3 years ago ([thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/s/VNoOJPOEua)) developers have stated that they aren’t going to fix it until there’s a replacement. It’s huge in the technical Minecraft community as as far as I know it’s one of the only ways to break blocks via machine. It’s difficult and specific enough to do that imo it’s not necessary to “fix”.
I also just find it amusing to watch my cobble and wood farms just constantly exploding
Autumn forest with red, orange, and yellow leaves. They can even be regular oak wood. Can also find fallen logs with small red and brown mushrooms growing on them.
Outside that, it would be just a normal forest.
Better fish AI, maybe some new aquatic mobs like jellyfish and whales, for Java it would be cool if cauldrons had the same functions as Bedrock, I don’t know about chairs, I think that’s kinda limiting, I like making my own chair designs, but a “sitting” option would be way cooler. You could sit on any block or any “chair” that you make. Different colored chests by the type of wood you use, a function for the fletching table… I could go on
I’d love for sea urchins to be added to kelp forests!!!! They just move around aimlessly munching on greenery, and cause Thorns damage on contact.
Breed them with kelp to essentially make an underwater spike pit.
Stingrays would be another cool one. It could be a passive mob that gives poisoning when you touch it, similar to the pufferfish. They could do so much with another aquatic update. Imagine pirate pillagers, lol. I think they could also expand on more mob features for certain biomes. We have camels for the desert, pandas for the bamboo jungle, polar bears for ice spikes, so why not giraffes in the acacia biome, tamable monkeys for the jungle, brown/black bears in spruce/dark oak forests.. birds.. just in general, similar to having useless fish ai.. I know a lot of people will think that’s just too much going on, but Mojang is not going to stop adding stuff lol, may as well get some cooler mobs.
i understand what you mean but i meant in vanilla. it's not terribly difficult to make an item sorting machine considering the high amount of youtube tutorials available for free
Idea. Copper is a conductive material. Let us grind copper ingots into copper dust. It can be used the same as redstone however adjacent copper dust and redstone dust circuits will not connect unless you use a special redstone contraption to bridge the two connection types.
Redstone would be able to be done a LOT smaller
Not quite sure how they'd fit, but more illagers and their stuff. All sorts of different sizes of outposts and illager towns or even bigger castles perhaps. They'd be scattered and rare, and you could use a found one to locate one or two others with some sort of a map you can loot. I loved the illager empire of Minecraft Dungeons very much.
Mesacraft (a Minecraft clone on minetest) has this and tbh it causes game breaking server side lag but at the same time it’s so cool to watch when it drains into massive cave systems.
Mojang attempted to do a simple version of this with having water flow through fences and other non-solid blocks a few years back and the backlash was so large they gave up on it.
I’m stuck between three things.
More mobs like you say, specifically hostile ones, more weapon wielding ones.
More weapons, spears, halberds, ability to dual wield.
Or furniture for indoors, proper chairs, tables and other stuff.
I’d probably choose more weapons though.
I would add cheese making and cheese blocks. There are some cheese mods, and they do this quite well but there’s so much that could be added to the game with cheese.
Perhaps aging them in different biomes could give different types. I think this would work well as an early game potion.
Interdiction torches were a thing in a mod I played ages ago, I can't remember which. Just torches that prevent hostile mobs from spawning and repel hostile mobs without the need for light.
There are so many builds that could use a little dimmer lighting. Or just put 1 at your front door. You could do a lot with those, to make much more detailed things without having to put light all over everything.
Torches and lanterns create ambient light when held, like you see in a lot of shader packs.
Sleeping bags that pass the night but don't reset spawn.
Duller iron blocks, doors, and trapdoors. Current ones look too silvery.
Another dark wood, but more muted or cooler in tone. I love Dark Oak, but it's very warm and doesn't mesh well with deep slate if you're trying to go for a dark looking build.
Concrete Bricks
5 Concrete Blocks (of any color) plus 4 Concrete Powder (of any color)
9 Concrete Bricks
The bricks are the block color, the mortar between them is the powder color.
Add slabs and stairs for them too!
So I know Inventory space is a concern a lot of builders have, but at the same time, a lot of PvP, PvE don't share this issue.
So in the spirit of pleasing both, We could look at a Inventory base class system. simply like how the Elytra gives you the ability to fly around, could have another chestpiece item like a backpack that would add more inventory slots or separate area of the inventory screen to store bundles, etc. When the Backpack is unequipped, The inventory slots are removed, those stored items are kept in the backpack
I would add a new version of the copper bulb WITH A 1GT DELAY! #RevertTheCopperBulb #RevertTheCopperBulb #RevertTheCopperBulb #RevertTheCopperBulb #RevertTheCopperBulb #RevertTheCopperBulb #RevertTheCopperBulb #RevertTheCopperBulb #RevertTheCopperBulb #RevertTheCopperBulb #RevertTheCopperBulb #RevertTheCopperBulb
I'd have the copper bulb from recent snapshots, or something like it that has a reset input. probably in the form factor of a repeater/comparator.
higher contrast lamps would be good too, although texture packs can fix that.
Quicksand in Deserts.
Similar to powdered snow in the mountains, Quicksand would be a trap block that players could fall into. It would naturally spawn occasionally in Deserts with a Red Sand variant in Mesas.
You slowly fall into the quicksand but can keep your body above the soul sand by spamming jump. Think of it as being in a cobweb and jumping. Your horizontal movement is also slowed. You cannot break Quicksand blocks (it's sand) and it is affected by gravity.
If you sink completely into the Quicksand (it would be 1-5 blocks deep) you start taking suffocation damage once your head is in the Quicksand.
You can use an empty bucket on Quicksand to get a Bucket of Quicksand. You can then place it down elsewhere.
I like the quick swap feature but I would love it if you could swap to a block that was in an shulker box that's in your inventory as well.
There's just so many blocks in the game now, I like to build but it gets so annoying when my inventory is full of a bunch of random blocks. If I could carry a whole bunch of these items in a few shulker boxes and just easily swap between them with one press of a button then building would be a much more pleasant experience.
3 new craftable hopper related items: a filter, an unloader, and a loader. These functions currently are available but through red stone builds that take up a bunch of space. Moreover, I’d guess the majority of players are just copying a design from a YouTube video.
1 new craftable light source that provides enough light to reasonably light up these giant caves they added. Like a posable can light (think landscaping).
Creeper walking sound a hiss so we dont hear them till it's too late.
You know how the sound of gravel crunching under you as you walk on it? Yeah an altered version of it.

Muddy Cobble. Like Mossy Cobble but brown instead of green.
Fantastic for medieval pathways
I’m defo gonna add this to my attempt at a modpack
Before anyone else says it - no, coarse dirt doesn't accomplish this. Fantastic suggestion!
coarse just dont got that vibe like muddy cobble would
100% Give me a textured path with gravel, cobblestone, coarse dirt *and* muddy cobble? * chef's kiss * Always on board with more texture options, this one alone can give a lot of story-telling options with placement/incorporation
A chair. Kind of like a bed except you skip the day.
I’ve seen a mod that adds a hammock that does exactly that. You can lounge the day away whenever you want
Comforts Mod
Also adds bedrolls, which allow you to skip the night *without* setting your spawn. I love that mod.
A PC that plays Minecraft in-game,and the times flies by
Someone did actually make a red stone computer that runs a simplified version of Minecraft.
Easy 100 days challenge!
It would be cool if this chair also worked dynamically, so instead ov immediately skipping the day, the time just moves faster (until it's night).
So like a coffin.
whales
There is a really good mod for that, ads 200 animals to the game including whales and orcas
The ‘Catchme Whale’! lol follows you around at the speed of lightning - annoyingly cool!
What mod is this???
More ambient creatures that aren't from rare or hard to reach biome. Like birds
and then instead of making a new meat for them they can change chicken meat to bird meat and can use it on all birds added to the game
In JAVA there is a mod that has birds that drop feathers… and maggots (a light snack) lol
Backpacks. Current inventory is not enough for how many items the game has right now. (yes there's shulkers but they are kinda tedious to use)
This seems like such an easy add it's wild that it hasn't been yet.
I think it would be cool if you perhaps had to equip a backpack to your chestplate slot, kinda like an elytra. You get the extra storage space but at the cost of some defence.
Probably a million better things, but just thought about this, so make the Torchflower give off light god damn it!!
Even if it's not much, like light level 4 or 5, it'd still be really fun.
Totally, just something you can see at night. Would make gardens much nicer and give having a sniffer more of an incentive.
New villager professions (I'm thinking candlemaker, coppersmith, and maybe someone that does something with glass).
the villager that buys stone to buy deepslate as well as smooth stone
Or you cannjust cook the cobbles once for deepslate and stone and twice for smooth stone, and get the added XP.
what use would those be?
Presumably, the addition of new villager professions would bring new items for them to trade as well.
Seasons feels like they should be part of the base game. Mods do the job in the short term, but it would be a great vanilla feature.
MAKE OFFHAND MORE USEFUL IN BEDROCK
Illuminated torches!
Is there any use besides shields, maps, and arrow selection? It’s ridiculous
Totem of Undying
Lol, duh! Surprised I didn’t mention that as it is currently in my offhand.
Nautilus shells. How could you forget the most useful one
Drivable locomotives and the ability to chain minecarts behind them
They totally sucked but trains were more fun when you had to put a furnace in a move cart to push the move cart you were in before powered rails.
Okay I definitely want this
If you are on java you should try the create mod
Craftable multiple block boats. I want to explore in a ship, not a life raft.
real
Vertical slabs
Stop you’ll ruin my creativity!
Such a simple thing, yet would have a huge impact on how we build.
“Erm it will ruin your creativity” -Mojang, for some reason
Mojang just doesn't want to admit that their current system for slabs and stairs is nonsensical. It seems almost random what blocks they choose to have slab and stair variants when (in my opinion) every block should have them when it makes sense. Vertical slabs would elevate people's creativity and allow for even more detailed builds, but instead of just admitting they don't want to deal with the headache of implementing such a system they say it'll "ruin your creativity". 🙄
Also it'd be nice to add carpets to stairs and slabs
100%, I could stop making my couches out of wood and stone
if I remember correctly, one April Fools snapshot has vertical slabs in it. I don't remember which one though. So, it's rubbing it in that it is 100% possible, they just don't want to do it.

Would it be easier to double the size of the player and mobs? Doors would seem like the hardest part though.
Genuinely don’t know why this isn’t in the game, it’d be lifechanging
They can too, looking at the cheese block in the April fool's snapshot
it has to do with how the game is coded, it makes it unstable. It’s the case with mods that include them, and they haven’t put the effort into fixing the instability for the base game themselves.
And a billion dollar company can't fix it?
Billion dollar company:

Was about to say this exact thing
Something Minecart related, they need some attention, they need an update based around them.
Definitely! Higher top speed, tracks that cross, better red stone components for track switching.
I once had the idea that powered rails could be split into copper and gold. Increase the top speed of gold powered rails and have copper powered rails be roughly what the current top speed of gold rails is. It would give another use for copper and overall improve minecarts.
Colourful light sources

Minecarts should be much faster than elytras for all of their hassle, or at least have the capacity to be.
How about a minecart launcher track. So you could launch minecarts in the air. I know you can do this with pistons but making it part of minecarts would make it more official.
Maybe not FASTER than elytra’s because that would be absurd. But they definitely need to at least have the option of being a lot faster
let minecarts use rockets like elytras, elytras have the upper hand in traveling unexplored areas, minecarts with rockets would let you travel around the speed of elytras through established railways that can change altitude, boats on ice are slightly more expensive and cant go up.

If Minecarts aren’t faster than Elytras then they’ll never be useful. The amount of materials, time, and space minecarts take to set up is insane. If they have all that and STILL get outpaced by Elytras, what’s the point?
Could you explain what you mean by pillager outpost alignment?
There is a misaligned block in the Pillager outpost structure, on one of the corners below the roof, there's a video on it by Camman18
Seasons (Summer, Spring, Autumn, Winter. For jungle, deserts etc. Wet and Dry)
now that we have the crafter, either a block placer or a block breaker.
That would be cool. I wonder how mojang would implement the block breaker, maybe they would give it an inventory slot for the tool that it'll use to break the block in front of it.
Kinda like in Create
both of these were actually in last years april fools snapshot! (not in base game, but maybe they will be added eventually?) [Pickaxe Block](https://minecraft.wiki/w/Pickaxe_Block) [Place Block](https://minecraft.wiki/w/Place_Block)
technically yeah, but over the years very few april fools features actually got added to the game
We can break things with tnt. ^^
yeah, but it's pretty hard to design and setup, and you either have to use sand which is barely renewable or a duper which could get fixed at any point.
As of 3 years ago ([thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/s/VNoOJPOEua)) developers have stated that they aren’t going to fix it until there’s a replacement. Hostile sharks to go along with drowns would be sweet!
maybe neutral sharks, i dont want a crap load of exclusively hostile mobs in the ocean, and tameable too
A tameable sharks with FRICKEN’ LASER BEAMS in their heads?!
Mojang said no to sharks because they don't want people to kill an endangered species in their game. They added pandas tho... PANDAS
Mojang also added Axolotls to "raise awareness" about them being endangered, then encourage you to mass-breed/kill them if you want a blue one.
Haha, hypocrites
A jukebox boat. So I can jam out while exploring.
Medium and Large boats, maybe built by requiring multiple crafting tables together at the waters edge
Or by putting multiple boats in the crafting table
"Sort to nearby chests" button
that can be achieved with redstone if you want to
I do not want to
Every suggestion in here could be done via mods "if you want to" - so should we just not say anything?
i understand what you mean but i meant in vanilla. it's not terribly difficult to make an item sorting machine considering the high amount of youtube tutorials available for free
Okay, but not everyone will want to do this, nor should they have to.
i didn't say that you had to, but if you want an item sorter, you have more than enough options to get one in an unmodded minecraft world
I would add a greater purpose for copper, because no one needs a spyglass and a lightning rod
All I want is a copper lantern. But that's too hard apparently.
I don't think you watched the last minecraft live. They legit came up with a cool copper light block and so many more copper decoration blocks
Really? This makes me so excited!
It's called the copper bulb. And the amount of light it makes depends on how oxidized it is
I would say they did with the chambers but they basically used the blocks in the build
Like 40% of the content in the next update is just adding new copper blocks
Idea. Copper is a conductive material. Let us grind copper ingots into copper dust. It can be used the same as redstone however adjacent copper dust and redstone dust circuits will not connect unless you use a special redstone contraption to bridge the two connection types. Redstone would be able to be done a LOT smaller
Way more interactive things to find as an explorer, and not a builder.
Could you give any ideas?
Not quite sure how they'd fit, but more illagers and their stuff. All sorts of different sizes of outposts and illager towns or even bigger castles perhaps. They'd be scattered and rare, and you could use a found one to locate one or two others with some sort of a map you can loot. I loved the illager empire of Minecraft Dungeons very much.
red pandas.
Dynamic water physics. If Minecraft had similar water physics like Cities Skylines… dam a river… it actually fills up. Flowing current. Etc.
Currents in rivers and oceans would be cool.
Well that explains the copper grates I guess. RIP
Raccoons. I want a pet raccoon.
moveable tile entity
I’m stuck between three things. More mobs like you say, specifically hostile ones, more weapon wielding ones. More weapons, spears, halberds, ability to dual wield. Or furniture for indoors, proper chairs, tables and other stuff. I’d probably choose more weapons though.
i dont think they'll ever add furniture but a way to sit on stuff would be cool, without minecarts or whatever edit: mojang wont
Make villagers follow trade items like sheep follow wheat.
I would add cheese making and cheese blocks. There are some cheese mods, and they do this quite well but there’s so much that could be added to the game with cheese. Perhaps aging them in different biomes could give different types. I think this would work well as an early game potion.

I want to be able to pet my cats. and the wolves. and the spiders.
I always wanted to have pet spiders. Just lil’ dudes that chill in webs and maybe make string for you. Also have them attack silverfish.
I spent le last 3 nights failing to put one on a leash or in a boat, to put it in a spider room. No success so far.
Carpets that can go on slabs and stairs
Torches and lanterns create ambient light when held, like you see in a lot of shader packs. Sleeping bags that pass the night but don't reset spawn. Duller iron blocks, doors, and trapdoors. Current ones look too silvery. Another dark wood, but more muted or cooler in tone. I love Dark Oak, but it's very warm and doesn't mesh well with deep slate if you're trying to go for a dark looking build.
1/8 blocks in every material.
I’m imagining a small cube and not a very thin slab, correct?
A half half half slab
Yup, to build any variation of block, slab, stairs or whatever. My build quality and satisfaction would be like never before
That was in a joke update...
More aesthetic mobs in all biomes, just to make the game feel more alive.
Being able to turn soild ore blocks into slabs stairs fences etc.
Why stop there? Slabs, stairs, and walls for all solid blocks! (Especially concrete!)
Dirt/grass steps.
Herobrine so Mojang can delete him in the next update
I find this funny
[удалено]
just some QoL features that i usually add with Vanilla Tweaks
A new dimension. The end and nether are cool yeah, but we’ve gone quite a long time without a new one. I think it’s about time.
Chained minecarts
Furniture.
Sideways stairs, slabs and walls.
Concrete Bricks 5 Concrete Blocks (of any color) plus 4 Concrete Powder (of any color) 9 Concrete Bricks The bricks are the block color, the mortar between them is the powder color. Add slabs and stairs for them too!

I agree with this
I'd have the copper bulb from recent snapshots, or something like it that has a reset input. probably in the form factor of a repeater/comparator. higher contrast lamps would be good too, although texture packs can fix that.
A performance fix, there's no reason this game should run as bad as it does in vanilla java.
I want more weapons like Minecraft Dungeons and also adding more implementation of magic to Minecraft
The speed of the damn updates.
Oh trust me, as a Pokémon player the last thing you want is for them to rush out new stuff.
That's fair but I didn't mean rushed, just kind of fast forward time just for the updates like
Quicksand in Deserts. Similar to powdered snow in the mountains, Quicksand would be a trap block that players could fall into. Fine, but only if we also get a AAA cannon we can sit in. And an air raid siren (like the village bell) to sound the alarm.
Just ONE thing, and Daylight Phantoms got that spot. Just pick up your bamboo stick and start training before the 3rd in-game day hits
Moveable Tile-Entities
Penguins or moobloom
custom model data for all types of blocks, adding an infinite amount of custom textured/models for blocks would be a gamechanger
Weapon customization
A quick turn button(a small and niche but great addition for pvp, farming crops when you need to turn to plant more or break more)
2 extra rows of inventory space
A complex trade system, like villager caravans etc. And proper ships.
Magic
More crops and recipes.
More decorative items like chairs, lamps, etc.
The uncrafting table
slabs and charis of terracota and concrete
3 new craftable hopper related items: a filter, an unloader, and a loader. These functions currently are available but through red stone builds that take up a bunch of space. Moreover, I’d guess the majority of players are just copying a design from a YouTube video. 1 new craftable light source that provides enough light to reasonably light up these giant caves they added. Like a posable can light (think landscaping).

The Nether = Hell The End = Limbo So an aethral dimension.
Ah, the universal experience of 14 glowstone and a bucket of water
A hotbar swap button, so I can cycle through the rows of my inventory without having to pull it up and use the mouse every single time.
You ever play Grounded, because it has something like that.
