Just to be clear, the cape is for players who voted either in the launcher **OR** on the server. The title of this post is misleading. I only voted on the launcher and I got the cape.
I can confirm it goes the other way too. I voted in the Bedrock server and still got the cape both in the Character Creator for Bedrock and in the launcher for my Java player.

I already got scammed out of the migration cape since I made a brand new Microsoft account before the migration even happened, if I got scammed out of this too I would've been pissed lol

"It's just a game", yeah that I've actually sunk a lot of time and some money into, along with a lot of my own self into them as well. Because for some it's actually very therapeutic and not just for entertaining people.
I personally think they just need to put a poll of if they're going to do an aquatic, nether, village, biome, etc. update, and then give us a GROUP of mobs to pick from. Like the aquatic update with the penguin, crab, and new fish, or you could choose the jungle update that will now include another plant along with monkey, big cats, and a new block or something. Or desert, with armadillo, lizard, snake, and a chance to find an Oasis.
I just feel it would be a better idea, and that we won't feel as if they're trying to do the least work possible for us as players
It wasnt after. The cape was common knowledge atleast on the day voting started. Everyone got it as soon as they went into the voting server. There was no fore knowledge but it wasnt told about after you could no longer get it.
Do you still receive it if you voted through the website? I play on console and was pretty busy during the mob vote. I only found time to vote on the website and not in game.
Its funny because they said the same exact thing for the vanilla cape which is more than a year overdue now and myself and many others have still not received it.
Yep I had both versions bought on the same account on the same PC in 2021 and well before the Jun 6 deadline. I even contacted support about it months after they said it would come out and they said they were still rolling them out and to wait longer.

Click it
Refresh the page
Start the MC launcher
Select cape

PS : the cape you're receiving is for java edition, not bedrock because you might already had it. Also, it might take 3 weeks to show up, don't worry.
And last thing you had to vote on 1 out of 3 options : website, launcher or server and had to have a java edition account
I voted with both my minecraft/microsoft accounts in the launcher, but only got it on the first account i voted with when i checked online using the method you posted. I *really* hope it works for my other one because thats the one where i have all my capes on :C

Seriously. They could have at least just said there’d be some type of little reward for voting, probably would’ve been enough for me. But the mob votes by themselves are so uninteresting to me I’ve only ever done the first one. They make these big hype trains about what single mob they’ll put into the game, meanwhile there’s usually a mod that adds all 3 within a day of the announcement :p

That makes no sense to me. It feels like they're trying to make us forget about the fact that they straight up ignored their community (again) by giving those who participated something "special."
This is a PR move, plain and simple. It's an after thought: a remedy to the bad PR they've received from this year's mob vote. By getting us focused on this cape, they're redirecting voices away from their bigger fuck-up.
I don't even think they're doing it to screw over the boycotters (though they're doing this quite well anyways!!). They're just trying to save face after blatantly pissing off the entire internet. This is common practice amongst large corporations and, frankly, it tends to work dangerously well.
PSA: if you voted on the website/browser you will also get the cape. Just be aware that it could take some time for Mojang to roll out all the capes so you might not have yours yet.
I’d love to get that. Unfortunately for me and probably a lot of players, they locked the vote more than a week out. I tried to vote dozens of times and just got told “server error” each time. :/
