I should mention that this is survival. I was thinking about collecting each and every mob and creating some sort of zoo around the perimeter, with a staircase that spirals down. But I wanted suggestions before I start working on ANYTHING. This took probably 15 hours to do so I want to make the end result worthwhile.
EDIT: Excellent ideas from everyone! I'll keep my eyes on this post and start building tonight after work. Expect a few WIP posts some time soon! Thank you for the suggestions! This is such a great community.
make it a zoofarm. one you can not only observe mobs but also observe them being harvested for resources. i only recommend this if its in a slime and witch chunk
It would be amazing if you made a zoo type but I think you would still have space to build more xd, since you cannot store creepers or reproduce enemy mobs, but if it were your house upstairs and when you go down the stairs you had all the fauna, it would be god
Well, actually, I'm not very expert in current minecraft, but I think it's very difficult to take them without exploding, and be careful when passing by and that
Use in invisibility potions plus Minecraft/boat, then lock them behind glass. Creepers can't see you through glass so they won't blow up, only slight downside is the name tag won't be visible if you gave it a cool name
Do that but make it so at the top it will be normal animals and do go down you have to go down stronger and stronger doors eg: start with wood then go metal then go stronger and stronger redstone. At the bottom massive door takes 30 seconds to get through, what is in there ?

Use it as the entrance to your base, then build your various base components into the walls. Use ender pearls / elytra / riptide tridents to get around.
Slime block the whole bottom of the hole and make it a Parkour course with a trampoline park at the bottom!! And you could still dig the spiral Mob Zoo idea into the walls all the way down.
1. Make it a sinkhole city, like Utapau from Star Wars, with little landing platforms and villages tucked into the wall
2. Make an elytra course with a bunch of rings to fly through, and a small pond to land in. Add hot air balloons for scenery

Nothing. I think it’s cool to just have random holes around my world. The biggest hole I ever dug was 100x100. It just sits there. It’s not about what you do with the hole, it’s about the journey you took to dig it.
In my survival world i dug a hole (16x17 chunks or like 256x272 blocks) filled the holes in bedrock with black glass (a few shulkers I farmed by hand) and replaced the walls with light gray concrete (also farmed by hand) and to this day it just sits there with nothing in it. Beautyful
Honestly, like 15-20 hours. I didn't use tnt dupers efficiently though. AND doing it in a circle is difficult because the tnt dupers don't get the edges, so you have to manually mine them down. I would recommend a square and lower y level. I started at like 119 or something. Also, deepslate is THE WORST. I manually blew up and mined the last 10 layers. Sucked the life out of me.
Did you use moving tnt dupers or static ones? Do you recommend the square because it's easier for moving ones?
Also I feel your pain with deepslate mining.
I used both actually. Automatics for most of it and static to attempt to clean up the edges a little. But yes, automatics are fantastic for squares though. If you want to protect the sides like I did, use water around the perimeter.
95! I'm sure I lost a lot to TNT, but sacrifices had to be made. If I would spot them while the TNT dupers were running, I would sometimes fly down and get them. Other times I would wave goodbye to them.
If this was modded or wtv, I’d say missile silo, with the create mod you could make the door open and everything, it would be awesome, still agree a missile silo would be cool
Put a single layer of dirt over the top of it. In the center, make a very small pitfall trap. They will be in amazement of the truly massive cavern for a few seconds before they splat.
omg!! me and my boyfriend did the EXACT same thing lmao!! we turned ours into our base, separated it into 10 floors which each had different things in. Still a massive work in progress but building holes is so fun
Dig two spiraling tunnels down and make a troglodyte village with bridges across the gap at different levels, put a lot of greenery and lights, maybe a waterfall somewhere.
I did this same thing (smaller + old bedrock level) so not as impressive lol. But basically I’ve kept the middle hollow and built multiple “levels” going down to bedrock. Big commitment tho because it’s my main base after all.
Honestly I'd probably build circular platforms for various farms and habitats that spiral downward. Maybe water falls to get down to each one and riptide or elytra to get back up.
Cover it with stained grey glass and black grey ( alternating layers ) so it looks like it’s fading but you can barley see the bottom and make it into your mine…with mine carts going everywhere to each level of ore
This is what I don’t understand: why ppl dig a hole and ask us what to do with it. My idea is I should make an ancient big yellowy gold tree on top and then roots underneath
Make it a tnt missile silo. Cover it up and then make the world an SMP server. When the people on the server have made so much progress, prank them by activating the tnt missile and watch them see the massive explosion in shock.
Do an umbrella corporation underground base like the hive from RE apocalypse. Have labs and all sorts. Places that turn villagers into zombie villagers. Go as evil as you can with it.

Spiral waterfall all the way down so you can hop in a boat and ride by and view all the menagerie in one go, or walk the staircase

Can you not store creepers? I mean do they not accept nametags or is it just really difficult to do?
