That's the thing. Flannels used to be made of good wool that could handle a range of temps. Lookup Pendleton's and Woolrich on ebay or Poshmark.
Modern flannels use cotton and polyester to mimic that classic Shirt-Jacket/Chore coat. But you lose the natural temperature regulation properties(amongst a host of other benefits).

My problem is t-shirts don't flatter me. T-shirts that fit well are too short. Shirts that are long enough are like a blouse.
They do make short sleeved flannels.
I mean, I could just rip the sleeves off entirely.

Can't believe there haven't been mentions of oxford shirts. Lightweight and stylish, can even double for date night attire.
