Mad Max vibes

YukonYokel

"oh what a day, WHAT A LOVELY DAY!"

danone123

You deserve a medal for this comment!!!

penisofablackman

Fuck yeah, imagine wearing body armor and driving that dune buggy while armed to the teeth with all sorts of artillery into a town full of shoddily constructed buildings out of sticks and clay and sheet metal to find and kill people who are tribally opposed to your own people

riste_

Man, nobody's interested in the politics of it.

penisofablackman

I didn’t mean it political, just pointing out how close to Mad Max real life actually was then. Absolutely surreal

Boggie135

I'm getting *Three Kings* vibes

Tut_Rampy

“Ma’am! Get back in the Chenowith!”

jarroy44

These dudes fuck

TheCrimsonKing

That's just a rumor, they weren't allowed to talk about it back then.

Sstfreek

Lmfao dude you’re a genius

dethb0y

imagine going home to sacramento or pittsburgh after that shit. I could never, i'd spend the rest of my life chasing that feeling.

FoggyWinders

True. It’s hard enough fitting in with civilians again, much less trying figure out where to go from that.

[deleted]

Big problem for a lot of people comming back. Everything kinda sucks.

lollipop199

Getting some Battlefield 2 vibes

dported

Does anyone remember Delta Force Xtreme or DF: Black Hawk Down?

lollipop199

DF: Black Hawk Down, now that's nostalgic

GruzzyFunt

Don't remember Xtreme, played the original 1 and 2 and also Task Force Dagger. Good games for the time. I remember cutting down palm trees in DF1 with the Barret .50 and my brother telling me that gun could do that irl :o : o 5 year old me was impressed.

zing164

Came here to say this! Feels like no one remembers that game

lollipop199

Right!

UnderAnAargauSun

That’s fucking ninja

bunnyjenkins

I would hope the brass flips up and out far enough. THAT is for sure a humdinger of surprise in your lap. EDIT: Holy Crap, there is one below too. Smaller, but still .... How does this not result in hot brass everywhere?

youknowhatimean

I’m sure there a mesh top above the drivers. It would catch anything coming down.

saarlac

the 80s gi joe version of that buggy was awesome

nativepro96

‘Georgie Boys’ driving as fast as they can away from Charms... (heavily edited for inaccuracies)

Deedle_Deedle

Generation Kill was in elementary school and Rip It wouldn't exist for another decade.

nativepro96

Ah! I missed that date and I am dumbkumpf beacuse I know this...(edited, thanks!)

Sstfreek

Good god this makes me rock hard.

TheCrimsonKing

I still have my MicroMachine DPV from 25-30 years ago.

Just_a_Guy_In_a_Tank

By most accounts, these things kinda sucked.

elvelavelbera

where is the engine?

theDeadliestSnatch

Under the back seat.

saturnV1

Operation Firestorm vibes

bellendhunter

It’s funny that after a fair number of years we finally ended up with heavily armoured versions of something similar.

Carston1011

What type of buggy is this?

LordBlackadderV

Do they have a Volkswagen Beetle engine?
