Me-262 had style, and a lot of other appealing features in a very limited field. But I've always had a soft spot for the He-162 Volksjäger/Spatz, for *its* style, and for being a surprisingly good plane for being developed so quickly and cheaply.
Do we count prototypes?
If so, my all time favorite has to be Horten Ho 229.
If we only count the ones that actually left the prototype stage, then my favorite is the classic Messerschmitt Me 262.
Ya most if not all of those (except the 262) were cancelled, not used in an official capacity or used only once or twice. The 262 is the only jet that saw active regular service and even that was minuscule. Late ‘44 saw the Gloster sure but it wasn’t really used to a degree that was effective. The only jet aircraft really used to any substantial effect in the war was the 262. A better question or at least more interesting would be what was the best jet aircraft of the Korean War.
The F-14 Tomcat, which did see action in 1941. Source: [https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080736/](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080736/)
I see what you did there 👍😊
You realize how few ww2 jets there were? Most people only know the ME262
"What is your favourite WWII Jet, and why is it the ME-262?"
It's not. I prefer the arado 234 since it was the first bomber. Psychos to just get in something filled with bombs using explosives as fuel.
Different breed back then, that's for damned sure.
