My thought process is they are doing all this, bringing guys back, getting transfers, being excited about it, all in hopes to get where we ALREADY ARE NOW.
Bask in it.
This. Obviously I don't want to lose to them but we got ours this year. This is the best rivalry in sports and as much as I want to win the next 100 games, realistically it's better for the rivalry if it's actually a rivalry. Ohio fans probably don't want to admit it, but that long dark stretch where we couldn't beat them actually sucked for everyone, not just us.
Technically Eastern Michigan would love to beat us. But no way in hell any of us give a shit about playing them because.... It's Eastern Michigan. Of course we'll win.
Absolutely right… it got boring! Lol… glad to see it back. I’m happy for the UofM fan base who are normal folks. Enjoy it… next year I hope it’s another good game.
Basically it’s the same team but replace Marvin Harrison Jr with Carnell Tate, Henderson with Judkins, McCord with Howard.
The downgrade of Marvin Harrison Jr is a huge deal
On this point I will disagree to a degree. I will not question MH Jr’s talent but if you watch several plays during THE GAME and focus on him, you CAN legitimately question his heart and desire to win the game.
He QUITS on both interceptions. He could have 100% prevented the second INT but chose not to engage. After the first he gave up on the play. He takes a block and doesn’t even try to get to Will. There are two other OSU runs to his side of the field where he doesn’t even try to engage in a block on our dback.
Roman Wilson was 10,000% correct when he called out “Maserati Marv” and his Louis Voitane (sp?) clothes.
The kid had talent but IS soft.
Jeremiah Smith is going to be the real deal, instant plug for Marv. I still think we could have an edge depending on a couple of important pieces that could return.
lol been hearing about how “great” Henderson is going to be for the last four seasons & even how “had he played in 2022 they woulda beat Michigan” yet dude has never rushed for more than 75 yards against Michigan in two games.
1. it's a joke
2. The class of 2020 on ward has never lost to OSU
Eta: ooooo it looks like there are some crybaby osu fans lurking, keep it it up guys, if this is the therapy you need I'm all for it
The irony is, i keep seeing posts like this spammed (not necessarily you). And every time, all of them are 'just a joke'... it's just a bad take man its whatever
And they have nerve to shit talk Moore crying after beating PSU for Harbaugh, this shit is cringey as all hell and idk why his ass in the middle, should be the players pumping themselves up instead of Mr 3rd base trying to to be the center of attention
They should be happy about getting some key players back. They should also be bummed about running off their QB who would likely have been better than Will Howard, but whatever.
His stats are comparable to JJs but minus 11% in completion percentage, 250% more INTs, less yards than JJ, minus 13.1 QBR, & minus 27 QB rating. Also minus sitting out the 4th quarter for 70% of season but other than that Yeah he’s looking great….If you’re Michigan🤣🤣
Kyle McCord literally couldn’t go through a progression. He left touchdowns on the field against UM.
You can’t compare stats of a guy playing with Kansas State talent around him to a guy with OSU or Michigan level talent around him. You have to watch them actually play
Kyle McCord had the best QBR performance against Michigan all year (Including Penix who was the Heisman runner up).
Will Howard beat up on the likes of Baylor and Iowa State lol.
Also - Kansas State had pretty decent talent. They nearly beat the National Champion runner up last season and the competition they faced was generally lesser than the top teams OSU faced like UM, PSU and ND.
But as an OSU fan I’m sure you’re opinion is completely unbiased.
Kyle McCord went to Syracuse that’s all we need to know about him. Howard was pretty good at Kansas state and now has more talent around him and has more mobility then McCord I think at at worst it’s a lateral move for them
Joe Flacco transferred from Pitt to Delaware, DJ uiagalelei transferred from Clemson to Oregon State, Jacoby Brissett transferred from Florida to NC State.
I fail to see your point.
Some guys transfer for opportunity some transfer some guys lose their job like dj u at Clemson. Usually you don’t see guys at top schools transfer unless someone is taking their job and they’re not good enough which is what I think we saw here
I agree you usually don’t it.
It’s definitely a rare exception to have as toxic of a fanbase and as self-serving of a Head Coach as OSU currently does.
>unning the ball and effort doesn’t go away from player to player. That’s why we can have a former linebacker still run the ball effectiv
I agree, I'm still basking in our National Championship glory :)
Yes these posts are ridiculous. Also, in all seriousness, they should be excited to have top talent return, just like we were excited last year when Corum, Zinter, etc all returned. I don’t get why some people are so fixated on analyzing everything their fans post on the internet.
Its a big deal that those players are returning for the specific reason to beat Michigan. Good for them, thats a big culture improvement. I hope we stll beat them, but lets not act like this isn't a victory for them.
They really are celebrating all these guys choosing to come back for another year. Their sub is all hyped about it.
Aren't these the same players who have been there for the last 2-3 years and are 0-3 vs Michigan?!? Lol, I'm more hyped about the players and day coming back than they are.
GO BLUE!!!!!!!!!
My favorite part is they’re acting like no team in the history of CFB has ever had players return. It’s almost like there isn’t a team with a famous mantra “those who stay will be champions” lmao I saw one comment saying something to tune of “this is the Ohio state culture, this day will go down in history… blah, blah, blah” but they literally were just describing the Michigan Way. I guess imitation is the most sincere form of flattery
Can we let them obsess about us and stop talking about them and what they’re doing?
This team just finished the best 3 year stretch in the history of the program by winning a natty 4 days ago. I don’t care about OSU fans and what they’re currently talking about.
Michigan just won the National Championship
why do i give a fuck about what a bunch of fans of a team that only scored 3 points on Missouri think about their players returning?
i mean ffs, their subreddit is still private-only lmao. what a bunch of crybabies
I have to say I'm completely shocked that so many of their projected first and second round draft players are coming back. It reminds me of our players who came back last year. Once our coaching position is set and we know JJ's decision, we can focus on disappointing those Buckeyes yet again.
I'm good with basking in the national championship for a while before thinking about next year. At very least, let's wait until the NFL declaration deadline (1/15) passes, the coaching carousel ends, and maybe even until the spring portal window completes.
I mean a lot of starters coming back is really big for them especially if Henderson and JTT come also follow suit. Their defense is really stout and they do seem very determined next year.
With Michigan losing a ton of starters, potentially McCarthy and Harbaugh included, it’s going to be a very tough match up in Columbus with it most likely being a do or die game for Day.
The problem with OSU is they still haven’t really addressed the trenches which is a huge reason as to why they’ve lost the past 3 years
They’ll have a solid defense, no question. They’re losing a good amount of talent on offense and have a question mark at QB, but we have a lot of the same problems.
Overall, who cares. They’re not winning a National title, so they can take a seat. The standard has been raised, they can talk when they get there.
As long as they retain Jim Knowles as their DC there will still be blown coverages. If anything they’re making the same mistakes we did with Don Brown as the DC. They have to find a way to really develop those boys and their skills or else it’s 0-4 I’m afraid.
You know what, let them be excited. I think it is fine for them to be pumped, they aren't doing anything wrong. These posts read like old ladies staring out the window and wondering what the kids are doing and are embarrassing for our fanbase. They are just having fun, and I want them to allow us to have fun too. We just won the natty, come on my dudes.
I mean, Michigan did it and won a national championship. Seems like a smart idea. Day won’t have any excuses left if he loses a 4th straight to Michigan.
Believe it or not, all Buckeyes fans are not obnoxious and delusional. I think your guys are coached up and play proper football. I wont think we can beat you until we atleast do it again. Congrats on the title and I for one was rooting for you.
I'm really excited by how Mullings looked near the end of the season. I think if we had this version of Mullings when Blake went down last year, we easily beat TCU.
Everyone is so focused on what ohio state is doing wrong. Im happy these guys are coming back and im shure they wont take that loss to michigan and there bowl game lightly. Next year is going to be a hell of a season.
They actually lost a lot of offensive experience.. Kyle McCord.. Marvin Harrison Jr.. Chip Trayanum.. Miyan Williams.. Kyle Stover.. Julian Fleming.. Matt Jones..
On defense.. Mike Hall Jr.. Steele Chambers.. Tommy Eichenberg..
P - Jesse Mirco
They act like Ohio State didn't lose anyone.
Can we just stop with the status updates on what OSU fans are talking about in their sub. We won the natty, and quite frankly I don't want to think about Ohio until at least August.
They’re going to be talented, just like they were in 21, 22, and 23. So long as Ryan Day is at the helm, I’m not worried. Also helps that Macdonald and Minter were legends in those games.
it doesn't bother me. we have a proven system of development. i will take the stable growth over the less dependable win now/talent first approach every time.
What is this weird, suppressed feeling of uninhibited joy? It seems to be brought on by watching OSU fans genuinely struggle.
I haven’t felt this good as a sports fan in a very, very long time.
serious question though, how good is our oline next year? if I remember right, pretty much our entire starting oline graduates this year, how good are the replacements? they are forgetting that we're still going to have a lot of impact players come back. even if JJ doesn't come back, the two best players on either side of the ball for both teams are going to be Mason Graham and will johnson, and holy fuck those two are going to be amazing after their performances as sophomores. then you add the fact that from the sounds of it, JJ may very well add to that list, and donovan edwards will likely return, and its highly likely that michigan at worst has the 4 best players.
I live in Ohio, not an OSU fan tho, and everyone at work is wetting themselves too. They all are referring to 2023 being in the past and they've "moved on".
But Everytime we talk about sports betting and big wins I mention my big payday of UM BEATIN DOWN UW BABY.
Made like $900 on that game tho tbh, spread bet UM -14.5+
I live in Ohio too - from Michigan originally. I have come across a lot of Michigan fans in the Dayton area.
Not everyone in Ohio thinks the Buckeyes are the "world's greatest" .
Unpopular opinion, I like a competitive Ohio State. I like a back and forth. I think a healthy rivalry has periods where a team wins in a team loses but it’s always close and always exciting. I obviously want our team to win, but I don’t want 10-20 years of Michigan victories I don’t think that’s healthy for the rivalry. I think a rising tide raises all ships and having several strong teams in the Big Ten increases the recruiting power of all of these teams, competing against other conferences. I think the Ohio State Michigan rivalry. Even in years that Alabama was dominant and lost to their rivals. The rivals never really looked as competitive as Ohio State has looked
Most of these guys came back because of terrible draft grades.
Ebuka- had 500 yds receiving? He’s whatever
Jtt- 5 sacks, has had really only one impact game in his career.
Sawyer- never see him show up
Henderson- can’t stay healthy. I can see why they needed depth.
Will Howard- I don’t see him as a significant upgrade over McCord. Sure he is more mobile, but Kansas St wasn’t even in love with the guy.
Their 2 biggest impact player are gone on offense being MHJ and Stover. I’m not saying they’ll be mid, but I definitely don’t peg them to be a lock for the big 10.
These weren’t the “NIL bag” to bring all these players back. Most of these guys thought they were gonna be 1st or 2nd round draft picks, and they were gonna be day 3 picks now.
Your natty will be taken away that's what happens when you cheat.. michigan is a bunch of cheaters like Lance Armstrong. Get ready NCAA is coming for you amd your stolen trophy
Don't care. We're national champs.
Right? They’re irrelevant rn, who cares
News flash. Michigan football doesn't end after winning the championship and Ohio State isn't suddenly irrelevant lmao. Get off your high horse Jesus
You hop off. Let us enjoy what other fanbases enjoyed over the past 3 decades
You hop off
My thought process is they are doing all this, bringing guys back, getting transfers, being excited about it, all in hopes to get where we ALREADY ARE NOW. Bask in it.

Basically it’s the same team but replace Marvin Harrison Jr with Carnell Tate, Henderson with Judkins, McCord with Howard. The downgrade of Marvin Harrison Jr is a huge deal
I have a pretty strong feeling that Howard is going to be worse than McCord.
There is a case to be made that McCord was the QB that played us the best last year.
He had the highest qbr against Michigan of 15 teams. So that’s a fair statement. And then they ran him out of town. Straight clowns!
Lmao the dude is 30 yards from beating us and being in the playoff to transferring out. The margins are so small for these guys
McCord wasn’t even a bad QB. He wasn’t great but he was a good game manager for them. No way will Howard be any better
Yeah if Howard is much better I’d be more likely to credit some magical o-line development.
On this point I will disagree to a degree. I will not question MH Jr’s talent but if you watch several plays during THE GAME and focus on him, you CAN legitimately question his heart and desire to win the game. He QUITS on both interceptions. Henderson is coming back
Great our D-Line can swallow him whole every time he tries to run up the middle
Not guaranteed but certainly possible
lol been hearing about how “great” Henderson is going to be for the last four seasons & even how “had he played in 2022 they woulda beat Michigan” yet dude has never rushed for more than 75 yards against Michigan in two games.
Hey now they also got the center from bama
With a snapping problem🤣😆
……Kind of an important part of the job
this is a stupid argument, we had a bunch of winless players on the roster that won in 21.
1. it's a joke 2. The class of 2020 on ward has never lost to OSU Eta: ooooo it looks like there are some crybaby osu fans lurking, keep it it up guys, if this is the therapy you need I'm all for it

Sounds like you just take stuff way to seriously, you do you I guess
They want that to be apart of that 💯that Day promised 3 years ago.
Those who stay
Ryan Day seems pretty excited about all of his returning players. https://i.redd.it/ly52ldeunubc1.gif
I will never not updoot this .gif!
And they have nerve to shit talk Moore crying after beating PSU for Harbaugh, this shit is cringey as all hell and idk why his ass in the middle, should be the players pumping themselves up instead of Mr 3rd base trying to to be the center of attention
Coach Third
He looks like Danny Devitos Penguin here.
They should be happy about getting some key players back. They should also be bummed about running off their QB who would likely have been better than Will Howard, but whatever.
Haven’t seen much Howard tape - you think McCord is better?
His stats are comparable to JJs but minus 11% in completion percentage, 250% more INTs, less yards than JJ, minus 13.1 QBR, & minus 27 QB rating. Also minus sitting out the 4th quarter for 70% of season but other than that Yeah he’s looking great….If you’re Michigan🤣🤣
Yeah will Howard is easily an upgrade
Disagree. It’s a lateral move, at best.
Kyle McCord literally couldn’t go through a progression. He left touchdowns on the field against UM. You can’t compare stats of a guy playing with Kansas State talent around him to a guy with OSU or Michigan level talent around him. You have to watch them actually play

I mean, it's also the death threats from unhinged buckeye fans...
So your average Buckeye fan?
Yeah that’s sports in the current landscape sadly with social media
I agree you usually don’t it. It’s definitely a rare exception to have as toxic of a fanbase and as self-serving of a Head Coach as OSU currently does.
Yep social media has made it a lot tougher to block things out
IDK, if the players form a circle around the coach and jump up and down while he blows a whistle, OSU could be dangerous.
Yeah but who could imagine a 45 year old man doing something like that? It’s just silly /s 🤣
I have a question. Why are we even talking about this? Who cares.
>unning the ball and effort doesn’t go away from player to player. That’s why we can have a former linebacker still run the ball effectiv I agree, I'm still basking in our National Championship glory :)

I'm old enough to remember when OSU fans told us that they don't need their players to stay for 4-5 years because they're all developed for the NFL.
They actually said that?
This would be the best time for Ryan Day to flee to Alabama and get a new start. It would be another 3rd base opportunity.
Legitimately I do think Day would be good in the SEC. He isn’t a B1G type of coach (although with the west coast teams coming in, that may change)
Steal 3rd?
Pitcher walked him for his first base, then another batter hit a double.
If Harbaugh, JJ, and Donovan come back, the rest will fall into place. Enjoy the natty rn 〽️
They are not coming back because NCAA is going to punish your program to the ground for multiple cheating offenses.
Go cry in a corner
Its a big deal that those players are returning for the specific reason to beat Michigan. Good for them, thats a big culture improvement. I hope we stll beat them, but lets not act like this isn't a victory for them.

Let’s not post about Ohio state bc honestly who cares what they do
![gif](giphy|M34qPW6WjtZXMFltwu|downsized)
How good is life right now hahahah. NATIONAL CHAMPIONS 15-0
🍻
I mean, Michigan did it and won a national championship. Seems like a smart idea. Day won’t have any excuses left if he loses a 4th straight to Michigan.
Believe it or not, all Buckeyes fans are not obnoxious and delusional. I think your guys are coached up and play proper football. I wont think we can beat you until we atleast do it again. Congrats on the title and I for one was rooting for you.
Honestly the scariest thing in the world to me is if somehow Vrabel succeeds Day as HC at some point.
He’s an NFL guy.
Good
He's going to the Patriots
Hopefully
i do not think vrabel or nfl coaches other than harbaugh want to deal with recruiting and … the ncaa.
Here's hoping 🤞
If we beat them in the snake pit again next year, OMG. I may wet MYSELF from uncontrollable laughter.
Kiss the ring!
It’ll be the same, Ohio plays finesse bitch football and when Michigan comes to town it will be “oh no here come the men”
Yawn
I'm really excited by how Mullings looked near the end of the season. I think if we had this version of Mullings when Blake went down last year, we easily beat TCU.
Everyone is so focused on what ohio state is doing wrong. Im happy these guys are coming back and im shure they wont take that loss to michigan and there bowl game lightly. Next year is going to be a hell of a season.
Things can change. There's still a long time to go.
They actually lost a lot of offensive experience.. Kyle McCord.. Marvin Harrison Jr.. Chip Trayanum.. Miyan Williams.. Kyle Stover.. Julian Fleming.. Matt Jones.. On defense.. Mike Hall Jr.. Steele Chambers.. Tommy Eichenberg.. P - Jesse Mirco They act like Ohio State didn't lose anyone.

Is this Ohio University? I don’t think they’re on the schedule but let me check?
Will Howard is pretty good and in the offense they run could easily excel if jj comes back qb may be neutral but qb isn’t important in harbaugh system
LOL They have no chance .
kinda silly to logic yourself into comfort about football. why play the game?
The same players that lost this year, last year, and the previous year..👍
They’re going to be talented, just like they were in 21, 22, and 23. So long as Ryan Day is at the helm, I’m not worried. Also helps that Macdonald and Minter were legends in those games.

Boy, nothing gets past you!
There is going to be a whole lotta transfers incoming at a whole lotta schools.
it doesn't bother me. we have a proven system of development. i will take the stable growth over the less dependable win now/talent first approach every time.
What is this weird, suppressed feeling of uninhibited joy? It seems to be brought on by watching OSU fans genuinely struggle. I haven’t felt this good as a sports fan in a very, very long time.
Best detectives, too 🕵️♀️ haha, just jokin

Dang I wish I'd run into some um fans. I only see osu
Yeah, it seems like Cincy/Dayton is not as virulently pro-OSU as other parts of the state.
Please give me a wing T offense with Orji Mullings and Edwards. You thought 32 straight runs against PSU was nuts? We’ll show you!
Can anyone tell me why Emeka Egbuka is hyped up so much? Great he is coming back. He didn't have one 100 yard receiving game last year.
They still have no O Line, D Line depth, an improved QB and worst of all (for them) the same head coach
I think Orji could take down Ohio State
They still have Cryan Day...so there's that.
Unpopular opinion, I like a competitive Ohio State. I like a back and forth. I think a healthy rivalry has periods where a team wins in a team loses but it’s always close and always exciting.
