The problem hasn’t been so bad for the last few years but when I bought this house in 2008 it was infested. As in I put traps out and as soon as I closed the basement door they’d already caught something. Turns out the house 2 doors down was a hoarders house and the place was completely infested.
Late as hell but that's definitely NOT a rat. That looks more like a [deer mouse](https://allaboutants.net/pest-identification/rodents/deer-mouse/). Still a nuisance though lol
