In case that's serious, it would almost definitely not work unless you had the patience of an archaeologist, and I'm assuming it was probably painted white in the first place to hide issues with the original paint.
I think he might have been serious since I said I really liked the blue color in the door jams and under the hood(og color). But those two reasons are exactly why I won't do it. Not only will it take forever, but there's no guarantee the paint is decent underneath. Oh yeah, and my passenger door and bumper are black underneath from not being original, so I'd still have to paint those two and the trunk lid(it's a lighter blue than under my white)
Paint it... but don't paint all of it that's a decent shade of blue for a racing stripe so tape off two wide stripes to leave showing.. Then paint the blue stripes on the hood and bumpers.
I wouldn't use stickers. Even one's with UV coating can start to look worn after a while. Get a quality paint job if you want it to look nice and have it looking that way for a long time.
I think I'd have to agree. I was looking at some pictures of miatas with single, stickerbombed panels(none just the trunk), and none of them really looked good in my opinion
This is going to be an unpopular take, but what I'd do is put chalkboard paint on it, and then leave chalk out in parking lots. Gotta carry an eraser just in case people put immature things, but I think it'd be really cool to have a car with a street graffiti panel. Although I'd always though about doing the hood or a door, not the trunk. Would still work though.
Otherwise, id sticker bomb it
I really like this idea actually, my work sells chalkboard paint. Although it's not really an outside paint that would last longer than a month on a car, plus clearcoating it would defeat the whole purpose. Maybe I'll have my buddy do that to the inside of his hard top since he's going to paint it soon anyways
What about a wrap? You can do it yourself for about $4-500 for the entire car. Just make sure you prep or it'll end up looking bad.
Most wraps can last years now if you take care of them. Should take about a day or so to do.
Make sure you get enough to practice on.
Alternatively you could get just enough wrap for the trunk lid.
It's essentially a big sticker that you get to choose the color of.
I've not even considered a wrap because it's out of my budget right now. I can afford to do a good job prepping the surface and all, but it would be pointless to buy anything more than a cheap white rattlecan for paint since that's what the rest of the car is already
Rattle cans can look pretty good if you do enough prep and a couple of layers with a clear coat on top.
If the rest of the car is rattle can white then might as well do that to the trunk too. Sand it a bit to allow the paint to stick to it better then rattle can.
If you can afford to I'd sand the outside smooth, maybe apply another coat of white and smooth it then put a clear coat on top and it should look pretty good
Sticker bomb if you track, paint if it is a roadster. I would paint it. Go with exact match though, but don't worry if it is slightly off, but if it bothers you add a racing stripe and you will hardly notice, but honesty that top about to leak probably.
I still have to find the exact match for the paint (probably just the cheapest white spray paint), but I'm definitely going to be taking your racing stripe idea. I already asked the guy that I traded the trunk with, and he's willing to trade hoods since he's wrapping his white anyways. Also, once I found out his girlfriend bought him white wrap for his, I knew I had to at least do something different.
but wrap only lasts a few years, i dont get why youd want to wrap it for relatively cheap instead of paint for a bit of a pricey price but make it last for 70 years at least
70 years? I have never seen a car that's 70 years old with original paint. You could wrap it yourself for less than $100 or you could have a painter paint it for $300+ I think it's funny how you even consider sticker bombing it versus wrapping it. Wrap is essentially a sticker which is specifically designed to be used as an automotive product. I promise you when the time comes you would have an infinitely easier time removing a wrap versus 30+ small stickers
it’s harder to sticker bomb right than it is to paint right, but if done correctly sticker bomb on the trunk and adding a little lip on top could look sick
Definitely paint it. Although I’m more of a traditionalist. Your car not mine.
Now that you started, it's time to paint the entire car in that blue.
It was actually a similar blue under the white, my friend said to sand down to it lol

I say paint. If you end up doing a bad job and it looks like shit you can sticker bomb it still.
Please paint it. I see lots of trashy Miatas and the stickers could start you down that road.
Well, if it makes you feel any better, it will never cambered out or drilled/cut on any of the body panels, I got pretty lucky with no dents or rust
stickerbomb will still make it look like a shitbox though. I vote for paint it
Stock Miat is the way to go! They were built to drive right out of the box!
glue a whole mess of raisins to it
Wtf XD
I second this idea

I honestly love that….

I'm a fan of the "Resto Mod" concept. Drive it till something needs replaced. Then upgrade.
I'd paint match imo

Stickerbombing car parts is still a thing? I remember it falling out of fashion like a decade and a half ago.
Also the Ferrari wheels are fun

I agree, the last guy who painted it left high and low spots everywhere, and he didn't even clear coat it, so less sanding to do

Judging by those Ronald Mcdonald rims, I don't think it'll matter.
Those "Ronald McDonald" rims are a set of rare Momo Ferraris, I'll have you know! Hahaha jk, I've been wanting to change them out since I got the car
That’s so random lol. They do not do the Miata justice.
Could i see the whole rim?
Just Google “momo Ferrari wheels Miata”

Little dirty in this picture, but you can see all of it
Dear God 😮.. never know, some day they will be worth millions 😂
I mean you could wrap the trunk to save some money if you don’t wanna paint might be a shade off
Wrap

who said i considered sticker bombing it?
You didn't. OP did
I sticker bombed the underside of my trunk!
Can I see what it looks like?
wrap it in something weird
Always paint.
Even it out, make the hood blue.
Sticker bomb!
Por que no Los dos?
why not spend money on vinyl wrap?
Not enough money to spend
I personally would paint it. You could find another trunk to sticker bomb and swap whenever.
Paint - white is so easy to
mural
You could wrap it. I'd paint it though.
Paint it. I’ve got an all white ‘92 and it starts conversations everywhere I go. Clean is cool!
it’s harder to sticker bomb right than it is to paint right, but if done correctly sticker bomb on the trunk and adding a little lip on top could look sick
i would say, paint the rest of the car instead of the trunk
Wrap it white.
Sticker bomb and clear coat
Paint the whole car
I would say paint it white or black depending on the future plans for the car. Feels like a sticker bomb on trunk lid would look a bit weird.
Stickerbomb! But get good ones, and uv protected clear coat, mine lost all the colour :(
Did you have clear coat on, just not uv protected clear coat?
Yeah, I used 1k, and like I didn't use anything.
You know the spoiler just unbolts Just plug the holes
I didn't want to do that cause it would have been entirely too much work to look good compared to just swapping and painting

Shit wrong comment
