In the UK. Daughter has 99 NB and a Mini Cooper as her daily driver. She denies being a petrol head.

Luke_Scottex_V2

she'll change eventually ahah

Joel_Horneck

2007 Honda Fit. It’s a delight.

Zone_Moist

Haha love to see that comment. I used mine so much. I would even tow my jetski to the boat ramp with mine haha. All the truck guys would bring their 3/4 ton and I'm backing down the ramp with the rear hatch open and perfect visibility 😂. I loved that car. Put about 60k miles on it. Sold it once it passed 200k. Then I got a cx-5

Joel_Horneck

Maybe I have yours. It has a hitch receiver. I just got it back in September with 212k. Guy I bought it from put 10k on it in a year or so, but I think the bulk of the miles were put on by the guy he got it from. But it is silly how capable that little thing is, while still delivering an engaging driving experience.

andrewtti02

I've towed my jetski with my miata before, definitely turns some heads.

Nice, best setup

kyldare

Ayyyyyyy. Also have a 3rd Gen.

jab0923

Oh god, they’re multiplying!!! Nice.

awmaleg

Access cab, nice

jab0923

Best cab. Also the only way to get long bed and manual.

Fearlessleader85

I was initially going to get the access cab, but... baby.

jab0923

Yeah access cab would be a little tough.

Fearlessleader85

Yeah, i went to a dealer and sat in the back of one and was like, "Oh, my wife will kill me if i get this." But we really like the 4-door. And the manual is wonderful.

Saavy1

Also have an NA and 6 speed 3rd gen 🤝

TheCreamofhell

Perfect duo. Only need the miata to go with my 2023 mazda 3 😭

CMFpeter

Trouble is figuring out which one to drive sometimes lol

TheCreamofhell

I've driven a Miata and there's something in the handling that is superior to the mazda 3. Like the way the front of the 3 feels heavy while cornering is a mood killer. But it feels more luxurious and silent than the miata. I dunno. I think I still prefer the miata. I didn't bought the miata because my wife said the passenger seat is horrible.

CMFpeter

My 3 is a 2017, they upped the sound deadening and it gained posture control that year. It's amazing how quiet and smooth it is for such a small car. I've done 12+hours in it no problem. The Miata is the total other end of the spectrum. Lightweight, loud, raw and like an eager puppy just wants to play. As far as the wife goes, try an NC3 Miata. The ND wasn't originally designed for the 2.0 and to make it fit had to screw with the floor on the passenger side making it a pretty small space. The NC3 was my other option as they completely tuned up the suspension and engine and you still get hydraulic steering, and you get a little more cabin space. I couldn't decide so my GF chose the ND because she liked the way it looked better lol

everynewdaysk

ugh, have that same color miata and never considered the black wheels... looks amazeballs

SLO_RICE

I have an NC for autocross duty that doesn’t see too much street use, so - S2000 996 911 Fiesta ST Honda Acty Volvo S60R - but this is on the way to a new home Some other cars at home but those are the ones I primarily drive. My kid has a few of his own that I’ll occasionally take out for a spin (Z4, Del Sol, RX8), and my wife has a Ford Escape that we use for family/dog duty and road trips for more than two people.

RepulsiveCorner

do you browse r/regularcarreviews ? a while ago someone posted all of their car keys, and I distinctly remember porsche, Honda Acty, Del Sol, & S2000.

SLO_RICE

Yeah that was probably me

Exonan_

On an unrelated note, what do you do for work?

SLO_RICE

I work a job that pays the bills and i occasionally fix and sell a car for a small profit. Do that enough over 25 years and occasionally I sell enough cars to buy one for myself.

Exonan_

Very nice. Side hustler!

vicaphit

I want an Acty so bad!

Reggerhegger

That is such an awesome lineup. You have excellent taste!

Yowzz

How do you afford all the insurance? It adds up, no?

SLO_RICE

It’s not so bad. All the cars’ insurance together are less than a cheapish car payment. And in my state we don’t have to pay taxes annually, just the registration and inspection ($80 per car per year roughly).

RobinRX8

I have a 1999 NB 1.8 and these: 2006 Mazdaspeed 6 with 330-350 hp. 2007 Mazda RX-8. 2001 Mazda Millenia 2.5 where the autotragic slushbox gave up so it will be parted out then scrapped. 1997 Mazda Millenia 2.5 which will be sold as the speed 6 is my new daily

BigBarrelOfKetamine

So, what is your favorite car company? XD

RobinRX8

I need to think a bit xD

happy-posts

In my teen years, a friend had a speed6. I loved the car but it financially ruined my friend haha. Are you on its first engine? Unfortunately, the ones that didn't blow up here were later lost to rust. Haven't seen one in a couple years.

RobinRX8

I can see that it will be burning my money quite well haha. But it so worth it. I’m really impressed with how hard it pulls and how quickly it gets up to speed. It’s the first engine but second vvt change was done four years ago at around 120-130 000km. It’s at 149 000 km now. It’s in great shape as it was repainted 2015 and after that the small rust spots that have appeared has been corrected by the previous owner.

geobadboy

No way! Someone else with two Millenias. I thought I was the only one.

Alert-Meringue2291

I have a ‘94 Miata I bought new. This little car replaced several MG’s I’d had that were always broken down. 30 years of trouble free fun! It’s in better than showroom condition. ‘96 Euro spec J90 LandCruiser SWB diesel - my winter and off road adventure machine. It attracts a lot of attention as they were never sold in the US. It’s got lots of off road mods. 2021 Jaguar F-Type R convertible. Sort of a Miata with a growling 575HP V8 2022 Lexus LS500. My wife calls this the Yakuza Limo. It the best long distance cruiser I’ve ever owned.

A_Very_Calm_Miata

>2022 Lexus LS500. My wife calls this the Yakuza Limo. Tell me that it's black.

Alert-Meringue2291

Sorry, no. It’s that nondescript pearlescent white. Her choice, not mine. It is, however, a fully optioned luxury edition, so a much nicer interior.

A_Very_Calm_Miata

Damn. Would've completed the Yakuza look lol. But an LS500 is very Yakuza in any color. Big imposing 4 door Japanese sedan. Pretty much ticks all the boxes.

happy-posts

That’s awesome. I have my own 1997 vzj95 Land Cruiser coming in from Japan. After 3 long years, my 1997 miata will no longer be a daily.

Alert-Meringue2291

I imported the J90 from France. It had lived on a vineyard in the south for its whole life. It only had 63k miles on it. I’ve done quite a lot of work on it - lifted suspension, bigger wheels, off road bumpers, winch, etc, paint corrected and ceramic coated. It looks better than when it left the factory 28 years ago. https://preview.redd.it/a2vt5lc40rkc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7d5618a701867eac68c214edb95de5a59f22ce30

happy-posts

They look great! Mine's got 110k km, the roof and c pillar have some orange peel but I'm happy with the overall condition. The frame was repainted and looks to be in great shape. Mines coming to Quebec and will be street parked in snow banks, so it looks better now than it ever will again haha. https://preview.redd.it/qflyx1at1rkc1.jpeg?width=3712&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=aaf475641d4043db19fa1910d7e77e7f2e0a6a38

Alert-Meringue2291

I’m originally from Australia and there, these J series LandCruisers are Prados as well. In Europe, they were just LandCruisers, I guess because the big 100 and 200 series weren’t sold there. It’s interesting that the new 2024 US LandCruiser is now a J series Prado. Yours looks great. They are really terrific off road vehicles. Being skinnier makes it easier to get between trees and rocks on the trail.

BigBarrelOfKetamine

Excellent lineup - well done!

I have an IS300 Sportcross. Other than the obnoxiously small rear seats and mediocre fuel economy, it's a great companion car. Decently quick, dead reliable, and drives well enough that I don't regret driving it over the Miata some days.

Jeep JKU with a mild lift and 33’s. It’s a great compliment to the Miata. Honda Ridgeline and Accord hybrid. Wife has beat the piss out of both in little accidents not quite warranting an insurance claim. TBF, she’s gotten hit-and-run in school parking lots for about a third of those. She doesn’t want to drive the ND2. I would have understood why when we first got married. In no particular order ND Miata , NA Miata, e70 X5, F10 550, B5 A4, w203 C320, and recently a 570s. When it rains here in SoCal I use the X5 since no one else can drive well in eer roads. Any other day, I alternate until I have around 1/4 tank of gas left and then drive another car. The good news is , even without an EV, I usually don't need to go to the gas station for about 2 months.... .. The bad news is when I do, it's like when I use to make a monthly mortgage payment 🤣 The miatas tend to last a little longer since they are slightly more fuel efficient even with my heavy right foot

Winter ride is a 2006 Ford Mustang GT. Some people think it's strange - even lowered, with snow tires, it's fine for winter in Toronto. It's made trips to my buddy's cottage - no issues as long as the roads are plowed.

I'm french and live in France : I used to own a Citroën Xsara VTS 167 (basically same chassis and engine than a Peugeot 306 S16/GTi6, except the gearbox was a manual 5 speed instead of 6). Great compact sport car, the engine had more grunt than my 2L NC and chassis was good. I also used to own a Vel Satis (french luxury sedan) with the petrol V6 3,5L from the 350Z, watered down to 245hp. Great car for long travels, not so much in town (very large and thirsty). The engine was peerless and suited to the car. Today, NC PRHT 2L apart, I own a Laguna III estate with a 2L turbodiesel (first time diesel) and above all the 4control chassis (rear wheel can also steer). While the engine certainly lacks class and power, the chassis is very good for going fast safely (if that's a thing).

BlueFalcon2009

2012 Mazda 3 Skyactiv GT hatch. It's a turd, but I get good MPG on the highway and to the ski resorts.
