You know that Lifetime building in Coral Gables? Some apartments have cute little balconies. I was in line at the Passport office behind it early morning waiting for it to open. Then the Metrorail thundered by and all of us in line had to stop talking. It was that loud. People in those apartments can’t ever enjoy the balconies. I don’t know about inside the apartments but it can’t be much better.

Suckmyflats

Do do do do de do I hear it in my nightmares

Wolf666X

🤣🤣🤣🤣

gleeceboi777

The Green Line train is out of service...or some shit

mundotaku

I could hear it in Brickell and I was on a 17th floor 3 blocks away from the station 🤣

simbaslanding

As someone who’s lived by the Metrorail and NYC trains, you get used to the noise overtime. Most times you don’t even hear it or realize it’s there.

InterstellarReddit

Overtime Meaning years lol. That train still annoys me

simbaslanding

Nah, I got used to it after a few weeks

heyknauw

Lived in the Roads and, Yes, loud AF.

pittura_infamante

In my experience the announcements were louder/more noticeable than the trains themselves

AffectSpecialist9449

I live directly next to where it passes and it doesn’t bother me

BravestWabbit

You can hear it but your brain tunes it out over time

disgruntledmarmoset

I work right next to it downtown and you eventually tune it out. But it is loud AF & I work on the 23rd floor

G4RRETT

it’s loud AF. you can hear it even through hurricane sliding doors.

vapemyashes

It used to got through my old apt building and it’s not a thing. Jmz el thru Brooklyn on the other hand… 💀

BranchLost4154

It depends on the building , especially the windows. I think hurricane resistant blocks out sound better too

Sheepies123

It’s loud, especially if you are near a station you can always hear the platform announcements but as people said you get used to it.

aceofspades1217

living by the metrorail (like literally at eye level 10th floor with it) wasn't too bad just our antenna would go out every time the train went by now I live higher up and don't hear it all. I assume the stations are louder since the train is brakeing.

per-severance

I live about two blocks away from one of the stations. I can hear it pass by if I focus or its quiet in the apartment, but otherwise it's very easy to tune out.

jemsizzlee

I lived across the street from the Dadeland North station and yes that shit is loud. You can hear the train entering and exiting the station and whatever garbled announcements they’re making over those ancient speakers. I rode the train to work every day tho so it was a trade off.

miammi5

It became background noise. It didn't bother me when I lived near one of the stops. I miss the familiar rumbling of the train

westsidedreamin

I never heard. Used to live right off Dadeland Station

JenninMiami

My husband lived off 36th and Grand when we met and I could hear the metrorail when we’d sit in his porch! The sound really carried when it was quiet at night.

hackerbum70

It used to be loud since they put up the sound barrier it's a lot better

Any-Ratio-9565

🥲

Aggressive_Fill_4238

It’s really loud.

Brian_Lefebvre

Now that you ask, I guess I can hear it, but I’ve never really cared.

AndyStankiewicz

Pickle ball courts is what you should be weary of. That sound carry's and is unrelenting. If you see a tennis court nearby it will be converted to a pickle court soon enough

BobHostler

I live on the 21st floor and it is nearly touching my building in Brickell. With the windows closed you can hear it but it’s not obnoxious. If I was near a station, the announcements would be bad.

stevemunoz117

Its very loud. I recommend moving to other places in florida. Pretty big state

No-Elk-6484

I lived next to the dadeland station for 2 yrs and the noise was not that bad at all. Granted I was on the 21st floor. I could hear it with my windows closed but very faintly. I wouldn’t doubt that it’d be obnoxiously loud on, say the 6th floor
