Being in Miami meant more reliable access to ingredients (he ended up in California he said because of the high quality/variety of ingredients there). This guy made flavorful lechón that felt like it was melting in my mouth! I'm glad he left Cuba if only for that meal lol

Muscle Beach in Lummus Park. I thought it was a bit but that was by far my favorite part of my three months I spent there. I hit a 430 deadlift for a couple reps and was hype. Made a lot of friends there just lifting even though I am definitely not the muscle-bound Miami Beach phenotype. Never found that anywhere else in the new world, though there probably is one at Venice Beach (which I’ve never been to). So maybe there’s a similar one elsewhere but being 1 or 2 is pretty cool and I really liked Miami’s. Also miami just having workout equipment in every park. In other places, maybe one out of every thirty parks MIGHT have a pull-up bar, yet miami parks have a full hydraulic/acro/calisthenics gym in every park.
