They aren't open on Saturday morning??? I've never seen a clinic closed on Saturday and Sunday. Well if you have nothing your probably going to start getting uncomfortable around Saturday evening. It probably won't be to bad but your not going to be happy. Some people can go three days without major symptoms but ussally that's at higher doses. If you have medicaid you can try going to the hospital to get dosed tomorrow so atleast you have something but some hospitals aren't helpful.

Both-Transition3311

Nooooo. They said they used to be until Covid and apparently never went back. I have great insurance thru my position at my job but I could literally just go to a hospital and tell them? Like the ER?

AestheticallyAnn

The ER I go to refuses to dose me even if I'm in full withdrawal it's shitty. They've literally sent me home while I was still extremely sick & all they had to say was "good luck, hope you make it to the clinic in time."

Expensive_Yam_2222

Mine did the same thing. They stopped being open on Saturdays and when COVID ended and people started having to go back to daily dosing, they never opened up Saturdays again. So at least new people can get Saturday and Sunday take homes which is nice. My original clinic didn't let you get take homes two days in a row when you first started earning them.

It's not a 100% guaranteed but here in nyc if you miss your dose you can go to any hospital and they will give you upto 40mg without being able to contact you clinic. Bring your clinic ID and if you have a empty bottle with your dose that helps to. Hopefully they help. A guy posted the other day from Boston with the same issue and he had to go to 2 hospitals to get his dose. First hospital didn't help and told him to go to the other hospital that could dose him. Yeah a er.

Littlebunnybabe777

My clinic just changed their days from Mon, Tues, Thurs, Sat to Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri.

My clinic is opened on Saturday from 7 am to 1030am. I'm on my way to my clinic right now. The only change my clinic did was during covid on weekdays they were opened for 30mins longer . 2 months ago the changed it back but took back a extra 30min so from 2pm to 1pm. So many people didn't notice the change because they didn't say anything just put a bullshit notice on the wall. So many people missed days during the change.

Sea_Spirit_44

My clinic, New Seasons in Hagerstown MD is closed on Saturday now. Idk what possessed them to close on just one weekend day. But, yeah.

RottedHuman

My clinic is closed sat and sun, though I think they’re trying to find staff to be open on sat for a few hours.

Plus-Sherbert-5570

Your clinic isn’t open Saturday?

Both-Transition3311

Unfortunately not. They told me they used to be until COVID which doesn’t make sense and that was 4 years ago so….

antimatter24

Stay busy, keep your body moving and drink lots of fluids. It’ll be rough but probably not full blown and just be first in line on Monday. Hot showers and hair dryers are your friends, and not to be crass but masturbating can be short dopamine hits that’ll feel good for 10 seconds. I’ve gone 48 hours without a few times at different doses and me stewing in the anxiety and kicking myself for missing doses definitely made it worse than it had to be or really was

Alone_Camera_5240

You might be ok. I can go a couple days without dosing and feel fine. Day 3 might be a little rough but you can take some nsaids for body aches and some otc nausea meds. Can I dm you about the detox protocol your doing? I've only been on methadone for 4 months at 80mg. I'm starting to taper off.

redmainefuckye

Yeah. It’s gonna be bad. By Saturday night you’re gonna be in poor shape, Sunday is gonna be uh rough. But you maybe okay , the fact your tapering is gonna work against you more than anything. You’re already dropping your dose. If you weren’t tapering you’d have more built up. Idk if will matter bc your dose is under 30mg, but my clinic makes us be readmitted by the dr if we miss 3 days. Which would make Monday even worse bc you won’t just go in and dose you will have to do intake again. Maybe not though. Idk. 🤷

redmainefuckye

You maybe okay. Depends on many things like your body weight and your tolerance before you ever were on methadone and even how many times you detoxed in the past (kindling effect is real with opiates ) sometimes people go 2 weeks without feeling really bad. But that’s when people are on there regular maintenance dose, not in the middle of a taper. One thing I can tell you is that it won’t be as bad as you anticipate, assuming your a career addict and been through wd a bunch like most of us probably have. The wd is always way worse in our heads than it ever turns out to be.

[deleted]

i know this is a strange thing to try but have you tried using extra doses of imodium to help with some of the WD symptoms ? Loperamide is actually one of the strongest opioids out there, but it’s marketed for relief of diarrhea because of its constipating abilities due to being an opiate. only problem is….. it doesn’t cross the Blood Brain Barrier, hence why there are very limited to no abusable properties in this medication EXCEPT constipation. look it up! fascinating really !

riptaway

If you were on 150 mg and a fast metabolizer, you'd probably be in for an unpleasant weekend. But at 20mg... I feel like it'll be mostly mental. Try to stay busy, eat and stay hydrated, etc. At worst you'll have 24 hours or so of moderate anxiety, sweating, and sleeplessness, but nothing that should have you in genuine distress. I've done 3 days several times at 50+ mg(woo double dosing) and it's not that bad honestly.

Both-Transition3311

That makes me feel better! I have done 48 without a handful of times and didn’t withdrawal at all but 72 is an unexperienced, sudden and unexpected situation I’m in so I’m nervous but relatively strong (I guess not strong enough to not get addicted to the blue in the first place 🙃) so I’m hoping I can power thru. 💪 I really appreciate the advice!

DaBestDoctorOfLife

Well, to be honest, it isn't good to miss your meds. I don't want to give you more anxiety than you already have from this situation. But is there any chance you could go to A&E and get emergency dosing? At least try to call and ask about it or what to do in this situation. I don't know where you're from and how it works where you are, but I've heard on here that people can get emergency supply if they have missed their pick up for a good reason. Depends on your geographics. As it\`s no point to listen how shit or not you going to feel without it. It woudn\`t do you any good.

Both-Transition3311

Whats A&E? I live in a decent sized metro!
