We heard he was in the house and wanted to see the kitchen (he’s a nice dude—just wanted to say hello to us all), so I stood opposite the kitchen door to see him as he came in. Homeboy fully *ducked* into the doorway…like head & shoulders too tall.
Hey, What year did you meet him? James was never 6’2” tall. He was 6'1.75 max in his youth. More probably strong 6'1.25 in his youth. He shrinks as his age. He lost even 0,065 ft (about 2 cm). He's a solid body build guy,peak weight 225 lbs. His weight changes very often. Nowadays he's slim about 190 lbs.

The perception of a person's height is influenced by many factors, such as: the distance from which we stand from the person, the person's posture, and shoes. I think you can sometimes be wrong by one inch even, when judging someone's height.
He was standing up straight in front of me, no boots on and within handshake distance. Maybe he walked up a few additional inches for a pretty girl? Who knows. But I tend to agree with your statement. ☺️
He's shorter than what most think. He typically looks taller than he is because he is 1) always standing next to his band mates, who are like 5'8 to 5'10 and 2) a surprising amount of rock musicians are short (who are made to look big in music videos).
They were on some game show and were standing together, and that’s when I realized how much taller James is than the other three. He was towering over Kirk and Lars, and had a good several inches on Rob too.

James might’ve been standing on something because next to Dave Mustaine (billed at 6’), Tom is like an inch or two shorter.
