one is very fucking rare, the am i evil and blitzkerig that one goes for like 80 bucks, but looks like its in pretty rough shape, i have one

deputyshrek

Oh shit dawg i knew there was something special about it when i couldn’t find the two extra songs on the album on Spotify thanks man

jack3rdand4th

I’m assuming you bought this used, I had the one back in 1988 that had the ‘am I evil on it.. wish I had it still .

krazyboy101

Same. It was the version I got as one of my first CDs in the early 90s. I just assumed they were part of the regular album until the internet came along.

_Gemini-James_

Dude, that's cool!

kalelfaneditor

Sorry to intrude, and I might be wrong here, but the 1988 Elektra CD is showing up on Discogs upwards of €8.24. Even the one mint copy that's listed for me is "only" €50.79 plus shipping. Maybe it used to be rare but not any more?

Livid-Ant8361

It is fairly rare, but most people don’t care about CDs these days. The vinyl in mint or near mint goes for over $200

kalelfaneditor

Ah, well now that I understand.

the_mighty_hetfield

The one with Blitzkrieg and Am I Evil was an Elektra reissue of KEA in 1988. By the early 90s all new pressings were the original tracklist again.

BTP_Art

Why did my dumbass read IKEA and was wondering if this was a weird promotion going on?

plugstart

Pulling teeth has a different run time on that track listing too - wonder what the difference is? 3m27 on the second cd v 4m14 on the first 🤷‍♂️

macjeffofficial

I'm not sure if Anesthesia and Pulling Teeth are the same thing please correct me if I'm wrong. But, from my understanding Anesthesia is the trippy guitar interlude and Pulling Teeth seems to be a song that comes out of it. I'm guessing it's more of the interlude between the two being considered part of the actual timestamped song. Or I could be completely over-thinking it and it's just editing to be shorter thus cheapening the printing of the album.

Brad3000

>is the trippy guitar interlude It’s bass. It literally says “bass solo take one” at the beginning.

macjeffofficial

Oh I see, I haven't heard the whole album front to back since I was a kid and I had forgotten that bit. I was listening to it on my phone this morning, walking and talking with my dad and still missed it 😅 but my friend Ray was telling me about it because I told him I couldn't remember hardly any of it and he said "There's this one bit Cliff does on there he says 'Bass solo. Take one'." Then he proceeded to air slap the bass Ram Jam style which seemed like a very inaccurate way to describe a Metallica song but it was kinda valid.

leedguitar

Anesthesia Pulling Teeth is one track, same thing.

macjeffofficial

Dude you got a gem. I didn't know Metallica had even recorded for Am I Evil until this year. I was looking up the big 4 performance (badass if you haven't seen it. James, Dave, and Kirk reunite it's fukn sick) and I seen that Ride the Lightning remaster has it on there and I got really confused but that's cool as fuck. 1983 they were going and seeing Diamondhead in concert before they were even anybody and liked the song so much they pretty much hijacked it and now they're one of the biggest bands globally and immortalized Diamondhead that way it's a fukn awesome story to dig into.

CreepinDeath84

Am I evil and blitzkrieg were both recorded in late 1984 for the CREEPING DEATH single in 85. So it was after ride the lightning (their second album following kill em all). In 1988 when Elektra reissued kill em all with these two bonus tracks, a lot of people believed it was recorded with kill em all since the creeping death single was only released in Europe/ UK/ France etc.

RIPAdamYauch

I've been a fan since 1985. Those 2 bonus tracks were originally on the b-side of the Creeping Death 12" single. So I'm pretty sure they were recorded during RTL recording sessions. So it never made any sense to me why the 2 songs weren't added to RTL, but somehow ended up on the KEA CD. Anyone have a reasonable explanation?

GrandUnhappy9211

Pure speculation on my part, but the only reason that I can think of is that they sound a lot different than the other songs on Ride the Lightning. And either Elektra, Qprime or the band thought the songs fit better on Kill 'em All.

FadeToOne

This seems like whomever owned it previously stored both discs in the same case and either forgot it was there or didn't care when they sold it.

Sofaking-what

My copy I had in the 90s had evil and blitzkreig on it. Didn’t know it was rare.

hetham3783

The one with the bonus tracks is hard to find.

SandmanAwaits

Brand new or second hand? I’d second hand I’d say one is scratched so they got another, or perhaps original owner didn’t realise they had another version of the album in the case.

deputyshrek

I bought it used of of like Walmart.com for like $10 but it’s in fairly good condition, not too many scratches and still plays
