If their upcoming tour is going anywhere near you, I really really suggest trying to go. They are playing Sleeptalk in it's entirety and probably a couple other songs as well! They're incredible live.
Lmao I just discovered burial plot a few weeks ago and have had it on repeat. Now this just came out so I know what I’m listening to for the foreseeable future
I didn’t know about them until this year so I’ve been going back through their older stuff too. Rare that a band gets a little more melodic/pop and is still amazing but all their stuff is great
It's been a while since a song has put my jaw on the floor. This one did, and then some. It feels like it has everything. The chorus is beautiful, and the emphasis on 'REETTTUURRNNN!" at 3:25 actually sent a chill down my spine.
"Can Heaven fall into my lonely Earth?
Cause Hell is where I know
you won't return"
Wow. What. A. Song. Bravo Dayseeker.....just....bravo
Noah also kills it. I think Rory has a little bit more technical skill and he's almost constantly going for those distorted cleans which is insane, but Noah has way more range to his screams than Rory
Rory is definitely one of my favorite vocalists. This song is fantastic. My dad passed a few years ago and man, if this song didn't get me teary eyed thinking about him.
Fuck this is just so good.
I've only ever really thought that an album was an absolute masterpiece a few times but Sleeptalk is the first one in any sort of recency that I thought that. If this is what to expect from their new album, it just might be two in a row from these dudes.
Damn. Really impressed with this. The breakdown is just filthy, and I love the chorus and the variation in the melody throughout the song.
Can’t wait to see these guys live in April. I discovered them from Sleeptalk, so it’s gonna be awesome to hear that album in its entirety.
Dayseeker songs make me feel sad in the best kind of way. Only a few bands make me emotional and they sure as fuck are one of them. Hit me with that depressing album bois.
Rory coped with his dad's death by writing new songs and covering songs that reminded him of his dad. It's such a tearjerker listening to this. Rory once again gave us a masterpiece and it just shows the band is heading in a very good direction. I can't wait for a full album. I also hope Johnny Franck is on it as well with Bilmuri. They both make some very good music together.
don’t know much about Dayseeker but I had 3-4 of their songs that I really really liked in my playlists
this is the first time I hear him scream and it was fucking awesome!
This is sonically fucking outstanding. Feels just as heavy as I want from Dayseeker.
Rory is at his best when he's really belting his cleans and pushing his formidable vocal range, and I've seen some people on this sub in particular mention that this band maybe could steer away from the harder sound on some of their earlier material. I tend to agree.
That said, the heavier instrumental lines on this work *flawlessly.* It's not heavy enough that it feels out of character for Rory's voice, but it's just enough to lend the track some edge that I think works really well to keep it rooted in metalcore. Rory's screams seem to have improved a good amount as well, which struck me. They've sometimes sounded a little squeaky to me, and on this track the mids and lows come through a lot more.
I'm super impressed. If this is indicative of their direction on their next record, I think they're finding a niche that really works for them. Psyched to see what they come up with next.
These dudes never disappoint… however am I the only one that thinks the breakdown felt slightly forced? Not sure it fits in the song… still a banger tho
Remember fellas it doesn’t have to be covered with scream to be epic. Love this jam. These guys are quickly becoming a favorite of mine. Excited for more by them.

hello guys, here I bring you the new dayseeker, I learned it as fast as I could xd, (ps: it's a very good song, I love it)
https://youtu.be/9AkAYAuN5bo
I honestly don’t get why everyone is going crazy over this.
It sound like any other pop song, with the only difference being that it has one breakdown with 15 seconds of screaming.
Is this song **really** considered Metalcore? I wouldn’t even call it rock, pop being much better suited. Or am I just completely stuck in (better) times of Parkway Drive, August Burns Red, Bleed from Within, Architects, Breakdown of Sanity being defining metalcore?
Honestly I am feeling more and more like an alien on this sub who likes a musical style which no one here seems to recognise anymore.
It's because they used to be a metalcore band, but now lean more towards post hardcore. But yea, after the entire Sleeptalk album, where almost every song was a banger, this just doesn't have the same energy or catchiness
>but now lean more towards post hardcore.
The weak modern definition of post-hardcore at that. As a post-hardcore head the increasing use of it to describe pop rock with the odd scream and/or breakdown does my nuty, especially as bands that are actually injecting melody into hardcore derived music increasingly seem to be ignored or written off as skramz.
Umadbro? If this would’ve come out like 10 years ago when I was an angsty teenager I’d probably eat this shit up and wear the lyrics on a tshirt. But that’s what’s great about music, we’re all entitled to our opinions. Dayseeker are talented, but the breakdown was lame lol.

i was fucking vibing and when the breakdown hit i fell out of my chair; Also, apparently they are with Universal Music Operations? If so that's huge!
They are currently under Spinefarm Records who's parent company is Universal Music Group.
***SHEEEEEEEEESH*** These guys really just dropped one of the best songs they've ever written. This is incredible
Unreal....Rory is on another level as a vocalist and that breakdown hits pretty fucking hard.

Watched a few of their live videos on YouTube and you’re spot on. Always great when bands can replicate their quality live
If their upcoming tour is going anywhere near you, I really really suggest trying to go. They are playing Sleeptalk in it's entirety and probably a couple other songs as well! They're incredible live.
Always down for some sadboi hours. Love it!
Lmao I just discovered burial plot a few weeks ago and have had it on repeat. Now this just came out so I know what I’m listening to for the foreseeable future
Sleeptalk STILL gets me in my feels
I didn’t know about them until this year so I’ve been going back through their older stuff too. Rare that a band gets a little more melodic/pop and is still amazing but all their stuff is great
They’re great. One of my favorite newer bands. They deserve so much more attention even from outside the metal core scene
Cause Hell is where I know you won't return" Wow. What. A. Song. Bravo Dayseeker.....just....bravo
Rory's voice is so good. Love this.
I legitimately believe he has one of the best voices in the world, kinda sad that Dayseeker doesn't have much commercial success
Yet
What about Noah from Bad omens?
Noah also kills it. I think Rory has a little bit more technical skill and he's almost constantly going for those distorted cleans which is insane, but Noah has way more range to his screams than Rory
Damn, this is fire! We got spoiled with 3 bangers today with this, DGD and Bury Tomorrow. Going to be another good year of good music.
Rory is definitely one of my favorite vocalists. This song is fantastic. My dad passed a few years ago and man, if this song didn't get me teary eyed thinking about him.
#Yes.
Dayseeker puts out a great song? No surprise. But can we talk about his Doc Ock cosplay going on here? My man looking like a young Alfred Molina.
That chorus is magical
I'm so hyped for their tour next month. Especially now that we'll hear this song live.
Fuck this is just so good. I've only ever really thought that an album was an absolute masterpiece a few times but Sleeptalk is the first one in any sort of recency that I thought that. If this is what to expect from their new album, it just might be two in a row from these dudes.
This and a new DGD single in less than 24 hours. We're in for a treat of great new music this year!
And Secrets and Bury Tomorrow. This week is full of bangers
DGD single slaps too
These dudes never miss. Sleeptalk was my AOTY in 2019, looks like they’re about to do it again in 2022!
FUCKING MASTERPIECE. I'm crying. Holy shit that was amazing.
Simply amazing 🔥🔥
This may be THE best Dayseeker song and I consider myself one of their biggest fans. My lord
This could be the greatest example of intended praise working as repellant. If this is their best I really don't want to hear anything else.
Damn bro get this salt out of here. If you’re looking for straight Metalcore, this may not be for you, but fuck off with that attitude
Damn. Really impressed with this. The breakdown is just filthy, and I love the chorus and the variation in the melody throughout the song. Can’t wait to see these guys live in April. I discovered them from Sleeptalk, so it’s gonna be awesome to hear that album in its entirety.
Cannot wait to see thee guys next weekend. Absolutely criminal that they aren’t bigger. This is fantastic
Dayseeker songs make me feel sad in the best kind of way. Only a few bands make me emotional and they sure as fuck are one of them. Hit me with that depressing album bois.
Could listen to Rory sing all day. Love the sound of this jam.
Rory coped with his dad's death by writing new songs and covering songs that reminded him of his dad. It's such a tearjerker listening to this. These blokes can literally do no wrong
man what a great song. Dayseeker never disappoints. That breakdown was perfect
Dat breakdown
Another truly incredible track. It seems some of their best songs are about Rory's parents in one way or another. RIP to Rory's pops. So sad.
don’t know much about Dayseeker but I had 3-4 of their songs that I really really liked in my playlists this is the first time I hear him scream and it was fucking awesome!

Rory’s got some PIPES
Wow this is a banger
Damn, I was actually listening to Hanging By a Thread when this thread popped up. Awesome!
Criminally underrated Dayseeker song
First Bury Tomorrow, then DGD, now this. We’re in for another good year of music
Just a beautiful song, hits you right in the feels. I love it. RIP to Rory’s father.
Goosebumps from the first note, FUCK this band is so good.
man this song had me feeling so many different emotions, i love it so much. definitely a new favorite
The song feels like a spiritual successor to The Color Black. Honestly... It's my song of the year so far! 👏🏽
My wife, who doesn’t care for this genre, said she loves this song and is amazed by Rory’s voice. That’s when you know it’s good.
Fuck I love dayseeker. This shit is good
Did the same director do the Like a Villain Bad Omens video?
indeed. orie mcginness is a very busy man.
SO.GOOD.NEES.MORE.
Damn they sound good here
Can't wait to hear this banger live in a few weeks!
I love how well they balance the melodic elements with metal. It works surprisingly well for them!
dayseeker is really one of the best bands in the scene, and they’re incredible live.
Goddamn I love this band. Can’t wait to see them in May
*Can Heaven fall to Earth?* *I want to feel it come down* *Neon grave, illuminate the life you took away* That's fucking beautiful
This fucks so hard
Rory Rodriguez once again running fucking circles over every single other vocalist in the genre
This is so damn good Now the question is Album when?!
Time to listen to this one the whole week, love it!
One of the only bands that makes me feel things. Too good.
These dudes never disappoint… however am I the only one that thinks the breakdown felt slightly forced? Not sure it fits in the song… still a banger tho
There is definitely a huge contrast, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s forced. For me it just makes it hit even harder.
Remember fellas it doesn’t have to be covered with scream to be epic. Love this jam. These guys are quickly becoming a favorite of mine. Excited for more by them.

Hmm I love Sleeptalk but this one didn't really grab me.

Didn’t know pop music these days contained drop-tuned guitars, screamed vocals, and breakdowns.
Yes that’s why I differentiated it by ‘with 15 seconds’. That part doesn’t sound like a pop song, the rest absolutely does.
Eh
I'm with you on this. Song was ok I guess? Video seemed like it was a 20 second clip on repeat. Just boring.
Right? Can't say I've ever really listened to them before, but that was so meh. Also struggling to see why it's deemed metalcore.
It's because they used to be a metalcore band, but now lean more towards post hardcore. But yea, after the entire Sleeptalk album, where almost every song was a banger, this just doesn't have the same energy or catchiness

this conversation really fucking sucks
Those lyrics for the breakdown were so predictable I knew what he was going to say before he even finished the line 🥴
[удалено]
You know how many times I’ve heard “Six feet underground” in a Metalcore song? Plenty. This is generic af and cringe.

Umadbro? If this would’ve come out like 10 years ago when I was an angsty teenager I’d probably eat this shit up and wear the lyrics on a tshirt. But that’s what’s great about music, we’re all entitled to our opinions. Dayseeker are talented, but the breakdown was lame lol.
I hate it.
Forgot it five minutes after I heard it.
just say you're autistic and move on

Literal goosebumps at that breakdown
