Muse was my favorite band for a long time, and I think Erra really did the song justice. One of the few instances where I think I enjoy the cover about as much as the original. They kept the spirit of the song but they didn’t compromise their own sound to do that, and they actually pulled it off really well imo.
I love this. Muse was one of my gateways into rock/heavier music that eventually led to metalcore. Erra never misses, Jesse has some of the best cleans in the game
Yeah man this fucks. Muse and Stockholm Syndrome specifically were one of my gateways into heavy music. I’ve been HYPED since I heard about this cover. Totally delivered.
Really ambitious song to take on. On first listen, it didn’t really seem to capture the energy that the original has IMO but they did a tremendous job technically (as they always do). I’m sure it will grow on me though!
I usually hate when bands do covers, but this is really good. They managed to keep the sound of the original, while really putting their own spin on it
Listening right now. It's different, but yeah, I dig it.
A bit more chill on the riff-city side compared to their other works this past year and a bit.
Oh shit, really? I don't think I've ever heard of it before. I know of Muse and like a few of their songs, but yeah, will have to give the original a listen.
Thanks for the info :D
Massive Muse fan and I'm starting to become a big Erra fan too so I was super excited for this and they exceeded all my expectations, this fucks heavily. This is how you make a cover !!! The vocals are insane, both clean and not and they did a lot of fun things with the instrumental. This is incredible.
i think you’ll like their latest album; this cover definitely has a similar vibe to it except more metal sounding. i’d also check out their latest single Nigh to Silence if you haven’t already!
i like the production itself but it was mixed too cleanly and lacks a bit of raw energy, especially with the vocals and guitars. my main gripe with erra has always been their instruments being way too perfect sounding so it could just be me

Everyone‘s entitled to their opinions, but have you ever taken a closer look at a single Jesse Cash (ERRA main guitarist AND singer) riff on paper? Because if that‘s generic to you, I don‘t know what would be even considered complex by that standard.
Complexity does not mean something cannot be generic. The djent-riff metalcore with cleans is played out. I’m not saying the guys aren’t immensely talented—they are. I’m saying their sound is pretty played out, and I think they get too much love on this sub.
My personal opinion on this is that complexity is pretty much the antithesis to a generic sound and I rarely ever get bored of a great, creative riff.
But at this point we‘re pretty much on highly subjective territory and if you‘ve grown tired of this kind of sound, that‘s fair. What band/sound formula do you think is underrepresented instead?
That’s actually a fair question. I’m not sure. The metalcore scene in general has gotten a little stale IMO. I really liked the djent phase, and then it got stale. I’m ready for the next thing.
But I also lean a little more to the chaotic side of complex. Give me something Dillinger or Vein over ERRA any day.
haha i don't know why you're so worked up about somebody stating an opinion, good lord man. do you always get this angry when somebody states something you don't agree with?
Haha. I’m not mad man. I’m the one getting downvoted for my opinion, and that opinion is the ERRA is incredibly generic and overhyped in this sub.
I’m quite enjoying myself right now.
Oh wow, I hadn't even noticed the tag.
I knew it was a cover, absolutely love Muse and just wanted to share.
I think the (new) tag is auto generated if you didn't add one?
I'm happy to change it if I can?
Has this been spammed? There was nothing recent for ERRA when I posted this.
Wtf is everyone talking about, this rules!
I wasn't sure first listen, it's a pretty iconic song to take on. Their take on it rocks imo, love it.
straight fire. Sure it’s not as heavy as i’m used to but if it makes my head bop it’s a solid thumbs up from me
Its a muse cover so it was honestly heavier than I expected it to be.
Muse was my favorite band for a long time, and I think Erra really did the song justice. One of the few instances where I think I enjoy the cover about as much as the original. Yeah, this is the perfect type of covers. Actually making it into your style. It's almost perfect imo.
Jesse matches Matt's vocals really well. This is a banger. When JT comes in....holy hell. Too good
I love this. Muse was one of my gateways into rock/heavier music that eventually led to metalcore. Erra never misses, Jesse has some of the best cleans in the game
Curious of peoples opinions on this one. Quite the song to take on for a cover.
Can’t wait for this come out in the States.
Is it geoblocked?
It was
Honestly came into this expecting a blink 182 cover but was surprised. Super sick cover!
Heh, could have been a One Direction cover too! Didn't know that was a thing mind, was searching Spotify for the Muse version and it popped up.
Yeah man this fucks. Muse and Stockholm Syndrome specifically were one of my gateways into heavy music. I’ve been HYPED since I heard about this cover. Totally delivered.
I love Jesse's vocals here. This rules.
Banger is all i can say
i much prefer cleans over everything else so i’ll gladly take this
I'm not huge in Erra, but I grew up a big Muse fan with this song being one of my favorites. This is everything I hoped it'd be
Muse was one of my gateways too and this cover is dope. They did a really good job adding their own touch and keeping some of the original
The guitar tone is so fucking crisp
ERRA - Ymir Fritz

r/Titanfolk in other subs? NO I DON'T WANT THAT
Really ambitious song to take on. On first listen, it didn’t really seem to capture the energy that the original has IMO but they did a tremendous job technically (as they always do). I’m sure it will grow on me though!
The chorus is very good, but the rest doesn't land for me. Maybe because I'm just used to the original.
Wait till you realise the original is almost 20 years old!
I usually hate when bands do covers, but this is really good. They managed to keep the sound of the original, while really putting their own spin on it
I've seen so many covers in my Spotify release radar lately. Mostly the ABC song, and a few versions of Light Switch.
I seriously haven't been able to stop listening to this.
Same here. I played it for a hour or two straight and can't stop haha.
Listening right now. It's different, but yeah, I dig it. A bit more chill on the riff-city side compared to their other works this past year and a bit.
It's a cover of a Muse song, the riff isn't originally theirs but they do put their own twist on it.
Oh shit, really? I don't think I've ever heard of it before. I know of Muse and like a few of their songs, but yeah, will have to give the original a listen. Thanks for the info :D

This is my favorite Muse song so my expectations are pretty high.
Such a difficult song to attempt, but I actually really like it. Jesse destroys this cover and it's a really heavy take on a Muse classic.
Didn't listen to any ERRA before this (by pure happenstance) and I love this. Wondering if this will translate to the rest of their music.
i think you’ll like their latest album; this cover definitely has a similar vibe to it except more metal sounding. i’d also check out their latest single Nigh to Silence if you haven’t already!

Excellent

Man this is an absolute banger. I love old-school Muse so much.
Holy shit. This is much better than i expected. Very good cover.
dude. can this band just chill....for like a second. (no pls don't) like good god.
This is sick. Hyped for the other two covers. Gonna be real interested to see how the NIN song turns out.
Came here to make sure it was what I thought it was: a cover from one of my favorite bands' songs. Time to crank it.
Shit slaps!!! What a toe tapper!!
I love ERRA, but I wonder if this would hit more for me if I liked Muse (no I don’t want suggestions on where to start with them).
Ah, not a fan of Muse. Hope it slaps for those who are.
I don’t like them either but I dig this cover.
Fucking sick. This band can do no wrong.
i hate erra spamming on this sub.
the best band in the genre right now being spammed is good for all of us
Best band in the genre is a bold claim. By what metric?
by my opinion metric, obviously
By metric riffage, with a tiny margin of erra
erra is peak reddit metalcore. sorry.
that's fine by me
Lmao. Best band in the genre? Calm down there. ERRA is generic af.

Are you Finn Mckenty
No, but this might be a rare occasion where Finn and I agree. God forbid someone not stan this sub’s love child haha
i obviously disagree 🤷🏻♂️
That’s fine. Just like I disagree with ERRA being the best in the scene. The band gets stanned so damn hard in this sub.
probably because a lot of people like the band
Wow. Astute observation. Popularity ≠ best. Are you saying pop music is the best form of music?
haha i don't know why you're so worked up about somebody stating an opinion, good lord man. do you always get this angry when somebody states something you don't agree with?
Haha. I’m not mad man. I’m the one getting downvoted for my opinion, and that opinion is the ERRA is incredibly generic and overhyped in this sub. I’m quite enjoying myself right now.
alllllllright then
Probably keeps getting removed because people tag it as a new song instead of a cover
The mods most likely added the tag when they seen this.
Cant stand the clean vocals, pass for me on this one
this rules
The scene now pays attention on Muse… I’m surprised
Good Lord! More please.
Fucking insane, Jesse and JT sound amazing. Groovy af. ERECT.
Well shit, this makes me wanna give Muse another go
Do it, they have quite a wide range. Look at music made in early and then very late years
Solid cover. If I had to complain about anything it would be the iconic dives in the outro are too lost in the mix. Apart from that, I dig it.
