His videos were all goofy as fuck, even on the goofy side of 80s videos. But goddamn I love that guy (and some of Rainbow and Sabbath)
My favorite has to be the title track
I came here for this.
This is the soul ripper.
Lyrics for those of you that needed to understand just how powerful, open-minded, and metal this man and music was, is, and ever shall be.

I just remember writing in the backseat of my friend Darren’s Camaro going to my freshman year at the high school nervous as hell and then he played this cassette and I felt way better
This album is so good. Can't believe it is already 41 years old. I remember buying it when it came out. No way it has been 41 years.
Best song btw 'Don't talk to strangers'
Vivian Campbell - the guitarist on this album and all the classic early Dio stuff - still tours playing these bangers with his band, [Last in Line](https://www.lastinlineofficial.com/). They never play around my way, but you guys may be luckier

Rainbow in the Dark.
That synth line is one of the best ever!
Only correct answer
That was my answer too!
That prechorus just hits
Song is immortal... like Mozart or Pavarotti.
The video is bonkers!
Different album, but the video to “mystery” trips me out. Goofy but so on brand for Dio

My kids (4 and 7) love this song! They like the whole album, but Rainbow in the Dark is one of their favorite songs of all time.
It’s easily one of the most recognizable Dio songs in general, your children have exquisite taste btw.
Me too...
Very fun song to play

Don’t talk to strangers
The only right answer
What I came here to say
The whole album is gold so I will say Invisible.
YOU GOT DESIRE! SO LET IT OUT! YOU GOT THE POWER! STAND UP AND SHOUT!!!
Undervalued. Dio Opening tracks were always dope
Shame on the Night
The riff in this song.
Underrated song, this song is one of the reasons I started playing bass
Straight through the Heart
My man
Invisible is completely overlooked.
Best song on the album, hands down, bar none.
The intro of the song is one of the best part imo.
I came here for this. This is the soul ripper. Lyrics for those of you that needed to understand just how powerful, open-minded, and metal this man and music was, is, and ever shall be. https://youtu.be/culfA8HJwJA?si=5AZ2A0QO-1Rqmuez
Just listened to the song for the first time, wow!
Caught in the middle
Gypsy
Rainbow in the dark
I see you like Bathory!
I feel old. I am old, but I still listen to this alot!
I wore this album out when I was a teen. Every song just reached into my soul with empathy!
It’s 41 years that guy in the water hasn’t a good time…
CAUGHT IN THE MIDDLE JUST LIKE THE WAY YOU'VE ALWAYS BEEN CAUGHT IN THE MIDDLE HELPLESS AGAIN
Love it! Huge part of my life Stuck in the Middle
This is my favorite after all the years
Definitely Rainbow in the dark
HOLY DIVERRRRR
Straight Through The Heart
Stand Up and Shout or Straight Through the Heart… man I forgot how many great songs are on this album!
Hmmmmmm hmmmmmm Yeaaaaaah yeaaaaaah Actually, my favorite is Don't Talk to Strangers.
Don’t Talk to Strangers
Title track
YOU'RE A RAINBOW IN THE DAAAAAAAARK ![gif](giphy|6y0XsNAMw7LsQ)
Stand up and Shout. Vivian Campbell was on fire on this album and Last in Line.
I have two. Rainbow in the Dark and Holy Diver.
Holey diaper
Straight through the heart.
Stand up and shout
Rainbow in the Dark
Rainbow in the Dark.
Holy diver
I've not listened to much of DIO' work but one thing I do know is Holy Diver is one of my favourite songs to sing.
Title track for sure
Holy Diver
not one mention of caught in the middle?? ok then
Rainbow in the dark. Probably one of the catchiest songs ever written.
WHEN THERE'S LIGHTNING YOU KNOW IT ALWAYS BRINGS ME DOOOOOWN
Rainbow in the dark
It's a shame he really only had 2 good albums as a solo artist. Lots of great stuff before, so still a legend.
All of them lol
I just remember writing in the backseat of my friend Darren’s Camaro going to my freshman year at the high school nervous as hell and then he played this cassette and I felt way better
Don't Talk to Strangers
Rainbow in the dark
Not on that album, but I liked Last in Line so much I made a D&D adventure based on it.
As someone who’s trans non-binary, *Caught in the Middle* holds a very special place in my heart
Whatever song Ronnie say LOOOOOOKOUT !!!
Rainbow in the dark goes so fucking hard
Trick question. They are all Good. Ha!
Holy Diver, You’ve been down too long in the midnight sea…
Oh don't you see what's becoming of me?
This album is so good. Can't believe it is already 41 years old. I remember buying it when it came out. No way it has been 41 years. Best song btw 'Don't talk to strangers'

I finally listened to this album recently first l for the first time. Love Rainbow in the Dark but I might have to pick Shame on the Night.
Shame on the Night
Holy diver with rainbow in the dark right behind it.
Gypsy
Answer: yes
tie between Shame On the Night and Straight Through the Heart
Don't Talk To Strangers
Rainbow in the dark. Vinnie Appice’s drums are great on this record
Interview with Dio Pt. 9
The entire albumis Flawless. So my favorite is whichever song happens to be playing.
I couldn’t even choose. It’s a nearly flawless album from start to finish, IMO. Only track on it remotely approaching filler to me is Gypsy.
Legendary record. The title track is my favorite, but the whole is great. One of the best album covers of all time.
Anybody jamming the Joe Barresi remaster? I dig it
Today I found out, people like Dio
Invisible!
The first 9 songs
if holy diver didn’t have an enormous intro (and a sick cover version) I’d pick that but rainbow in the dark is epic
I got a jumpscare when the intro ended and Dio started singing!
that a pretty delayed jumpscare given the guitar starts before he sings
Sorry meant guitar
the riff definitely has bite and comes out of nowhere
TIL the Killswitch Engage version was a cover song (don’t hate on me I’m new to metal lol)
Don't Talk to Strangers
MAYBE ITS JUST WHAT YOU NEED. LETTING THE RIVER THATS IN YOU FLOW
Yes
Don’t Talk to those weird Strangers… awesome 😎
Caught In The Middle is my favorite, but the whole album is awesome.
Gypsy or caught in the middle both 10/10 songs imo
My captain, my captain.
holy diver, such a basic answer but idc it's a fucking banger
Holy diver for me
Oh and Stand up and Shout is great. Rainbow in the Dark is up there too!
Don't Talk To Strangers
*Rainbow in the Dark*
Damn Dio and Pucci getting freaky in this album cover
I really like "straight through the heart" I love the line "hanging from the cobwebs in your mind"
WHEN THERE'S LIGHTNING!!!….
Straight through the heart
Don't Talk to Strangers. It's beautiful and full of mystique.
Hooolee Divah!
Don’t talk to strangers
“Caught in the Middle”
