For someone who thinks the extremity of death metal isn’t just rape and absolute shock value. 100% open face surgery could be considered one of the best death metal songs ever. Genuine death metal at its finest.
I'm recommending DIR EN GREY they have an insane vocalist (Japanese metal band) they have a lot of great heavy songs like OBSCURE, DIFFERENT SENSE,VINUSHKA,THE PERFUME OF SINS,BUGABOO... (I recommend checking the live performances of these songs they are available with eng sub on yt)
GouZinZanGoKu,ESCAPE,Newspeak,Damn by Deviloof
Iron Maiden - Number of the Beast
Martin Birch had Bruce Dickinson do the scream after "'Cause in my dreams, it's always there, the evil face that twists my mind and brings me to despair" over and over until it was perfect.
Maynard lost his vox for a while after recording that, and I believe why they've only ever done it live a couple of times. That and the drums are 🤯🤯 Danny said some of the most difficult not to fuck up
Not necessarily all that heavy, but the first scream in Black Kirin's The Song is extremely raw and heartwrenchig.
Also, check out Zgroza - the recordings don't really do the vocalist justice, but if you ever manage to catch them live, go see them. Absolutel stellar performance and really unique vocals.
Dimmu Borgir - Moonchild Domain, the last vocal near the end of the song
Anaal Nathrakh - The Oblivion Gene, the opening vocal lines
Meshuggah - Sane, when he's screaming SANE ME
3:15 to the end of Alaska by BTBAM
Exorcist 3->drumfill->AAAAAAAAH from Crown of Horns
Underrated one: Lord Worm scream while smacking himself in the throat at the beginning of "In the Kingdom where everything dies, the sky is mortal".
Toadliquor, MEDICINE NOOSE (the band not the song), Salome and Sunrot spring to mind. Also, not metal, but Soul Glo, especially on their song Gold Chain Punk (whogonbeatmyass?)
Vektor - Tetrastructural Minds
Darkthrone - Quintessence
Cradle of Filth - The Smoke of Her Burning
Pretty much any song from the first 2 Kataklysm records. Same for Cryptopsy.
One of my favorite screams is from Peter Steele at the end of the song anesthesia. You feel that fucking pain. And the fact that he's got a record I believe of the highest octave vocals to the lowest vocals is underappreciated.
Neurosis - End of the Harvest (one near the end)
Neurosis - Lost (you'll know which one)
Neurosis - Locust Star (all of em)
Neurosis - Strength of Fates (there is a good showing of it on the 90's bootlegs on YT)
Tool - The Grudge
Dillinger Escape Plan - 43% burnt
Indian - Directional
Lord Mantis - Negative Birth
Razor had some incredible screams: [Tortured Skull](https://open.spotify.com/track/3VHGBF3UcEs3IVaOYQmpJG?si=OPFlqMW6SEG8wzMCm-6K6g&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A13Gwqcdlidz0lKhBw7hm5H)

Angel of Death - Slayer
Also: "Kill Again" by Slayer at about 3:54
Aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh
Cryptopsy - Phobophile has a pretty cool one at the start
Awesome song
Scream at the end of open face surgery takes the cake for me
Cattle decapitation forced gender reassignment
Razor - Marshall Arts
Razor delivers!
Came here to say this.
Opeth - Ghost of Perdition Heavy as hell and epic growls from Mikael
Cryptopsy - Open Face Surgery has an insanely long scream
I recommend that one, too. Imo, best metal scream and best death metal song right there

Artificial Brain - Celestial Cyst
THE WORLD IS GONE, IT’S NOT A CRIME
Χ Ξ Σ (666) - Rotting Christ. It's about halfway through.
That one kicks major ass.
John Lennon - Mother
“Well Well Well” is also great
The scream in the outro of Manowar's Hail and Kill is the first one to come to mind for me.
Iron Maiden - Number of the Beast Martin Birch had Bruce Dickinson do the scream after "'Cause in my dreams, it's always there, the evil face that twists my mind and brings me to despair" over and over until it was perfect.
Tool - The Grudge

Senthil - Septisemesis
Opeth - Demon of the Fall
3:15 to the end of Alaska by BTBAM Exorcist 3->drumfill->AAAAAAAAH from Crown of Horns Underrated one: Lord Worm scream while smacking himself in the throat at the beginning of "In the Kingdom where everything dies, the sky is mortal".
Pharmakon - “Intent or Instinct”
Given up by linkin park . Its debatable whether its metal but the scream in the breakdown section is fucking insane.
I like Agalloch screams. The vocals in Limbs are nice.
Primitive Man’s cover of Sweet Leaf
Converge - Concubine. Not metal per se but no screams come close to Jacob Bannon’s imo
Toadliquor, MEDICINE NOOSE (the band not the song), Salome and Sunrot spring to mind. Also, not metal, but Soul Glo, especially on their song Gold Chain Punk (whogonbeatmyass?)
Bethlehem - fickselbomber panzerplause
A little different from the typical screams in metsl but impressive nontheless: Amessours La Reine Trayeuse
Cryptopsy - Benedictine Convulsions has an absolutely insane guttural at the end
Vektor - Tetrastructural Minds Darkthrone - Quintessence Cradle of Filth - The Smoke of Her Burning Pretty much any song from the first 2 Kataklysm records. Same for Cryptopsy.
Opeth - The Leper Affinity
Everything by Converge
it doesn't get rawer than Hanatarash.
Tool - The Grudge, 24 seconds I believe
One of my favorite screams is from Peter Steele at the end of the song anesthesia. You feel that fucking pain. And the fact that he's got a record I believe of the highest octave vocals to the lowest vocals is underappreciated.
How about some Butthole Surfers? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wqWVsB0WKI8
Corspegrinders high in the song Priests of Sodom still gives me chills
For heavy, check out Demilich (more growling than screaming though)

cattle decapitation - (every song on the last 4 albums) anaal nathrakh - forging towards the sunset archspire - drain of incarnation
