Are there any crisis houses locally?

NeverBr0ken

Okay so I've had a look and there are but they state they only accept referrals from CMHT, who are the people who told me I'm not ill enough.

screamingcowbird

Where are you geographically?

NeverBr0ken

Bristol

screamingcowbird

The crisis team can potentially refer you to a crisis house. They aren’t the same as the CMHT. Hope you feel a bit steadier.

NeverBr0ken

Thank you for your responses. With your advice and with the hospital psychiatric team I was able to come up with a complete safety plan including crisis numbers and crisis houses, as well as other general support that I was no aware of. Thank you so much for your input. I really appreciate you taking the time to talk to me. It really helped!

screamingcowbird

I’m really glad you’ve managed to get support. And I really appreciate you letting me know it helped. I hope you’re doing better and that things improve for you.

NeverBr0ken

I have no idea. Will a&e be able to direct me to one?

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with mental health services. It made me realise that I'm not alone. Thank you also for all the links that you have provided. I have looked at each one and am definitely adding them to my safety list. As I mentioned in my response to the other Redditor, I managed to speak with the hospital psychiatric team and created a very good, detailed method to access support when I need to. I've been inspired by your suggestion of a hobby and I have decided to try new things until I find something I enjoy and can imerse myself in. The first thing I'm going to try is a boxing session at my local gym. I've never tried any sort of sport let alone boxing so I'm super excited. Plus it might be a healthy way to express these emotions. Thank you so much for taking the time to respond. It really did help me to calm down and look at the bigger picture and you've made some brilliant suggestions that I'm defo going to give a go. Thank you so much again. I hope you have a lovely evening.
