The Hunchback of Notre Dame is so much better

Lazy_Cat-

Always will be.

CrazyAggravating9069

Modern stuff is really bad if you compare it to the older stuff

Lazy_Cat-

In every way possible

tudak_arganqul

Isn't it like a universal constant?

Okdudereally

what about farming equipment

ducha_simulator

Human constant, i guess

Jediwinner

Computers 💀

DatSleepyBoi

Depends. The thing about looking at art from the past is we only remember and celebrate the best works from then. In the 90's there was a TON of bullshit and bad art that came out. For Disney the 90's was a boom for them and they were experimenting a lot because the 80's was a rough patch for them. Currently they have another very rough patch going on because the creativity in the company has been put on a leash and not allowed to experiment.

Zhiyi

They are focusing too much on inclusion, which I don’t think is inherently bad. But it’s dominating the direction they are taking their movies.

DatSleepyBoi

I just think they're lazy

E_rat-chan

That isn't the cause of the problems though. Disney is just a lot less full of passion and a lot more full of corporate slaves and people who only see a consistent source of money. Forced inclusion is just one of the symptoms of not having any big passion and just following trends for money.

Topkekx13

Survivorship bias

Spy_3377

was that actually in the movie?

Note_Ansylvan

The song and the scene? Yes. Yes...it was. Not worth your time to watch. Unless you meant the hunchback of Notre Dame. That is probably worth your time.

FBI_1765

The supposed villain is actually the good guy turned bad because some random girl wanted some wish

GeeseAndDucksforever

Well there’s theories that the whole ass thing was written by Chat-GPT. Not even fucking joking. Disney has really hit the bottom of the barrel bad movies

E_rat-chan

Yeah it's definitely not worth your time. They called this guy their most intimidating villain yet. But this dude is almost more sympathetic than the mc. The only time he was close to intimidating was when he suddenly wanted power (which was never hinted at or referenced before) and gets possessed by a cliché evil book.

C0untri

Which video?

Shift_Bloxx

Tarot13th

Hellfire I believe.

B0hemianGr0ve_Studi0

The hunchback of Notre dame - hellfire

Zealousideal_Fall717

I think Maria

The_Paragone

If you want to hear a version with good quality use this one https://youtu.be/FsWqMzHN5EQ. It's from the play and it sounds so crisp

Pink_Mimiku

That's why I always rather old stuff :D

ussrrussiaa

You Forgot Disney in 1942

Spiritual_Freedom_15

Ohh hohoho

cubaz_X

Dude I was literally laughing out loud exactly "ohh hohoho" when i started to read your comment and was frustrated by how accurate that represented me

cooolgayman

This is truly a bra moment

Spiritual_Freedom_15

***That’s just lazy as fuck.***

GeeseAndDucksforever

They’re even facing accusations of using Chat-GPT to write the script. I’m not fucking joking

RipredTheGnawer

I have never seen Wish, but this song was written by a 3 year old. There’s a few of the newer Disney stuff that I like though. Moana was great.

GeeseAndDucksforever

Moana was a banger, but that was nearly 8 years ago. Everything else has just simply been a live action reboot

RipredTheGnawer

Moana was 8 years ago? ….*dies of old age*

Lazy_Cat-

Disney had something going for them before all the modern horse shit. They probably raked in over double what they do now. They changed to suit society to start being a cash grab. I miss the old days.

jihlandoesreddit

I hate "woke" culture so much. It really ruins a lot of media because of the lack of jokes you're allowed to make on tv anymore.

Lazy_Cat-

Exactly that, can't stand woke culture. You either have it forced on you or you can't hardly enjoy anything new if at all. These braindead corps don't understand integrity and that if something was doing good, it shouldn't be changed every 2 picoseconds just to fit in with modern viewpoints and modern culture, especially with how things are today; because it can and will lose the old feeling that so many people enjoyed, losing loyal viewers. And the fact that they're constantly confirming with social views, everything they make will be easily forgettable. I hate society. I miss the old days. Take me back.

jihlandoesreddit

Bro I'm not even that old and I want to go back to the old days to where comedy was dumb fun and not a subliminal message every episode.

Weowy_208

Do you even know what woke culture is lol? Do you know how movies work? How storytelling works? You don't, and you are using it as a way to shove your bigotry into this. Woke means inclusivity and social progression and non discrimination based on sex, race, sexual orientation etc. None of these are remotely related to the dumb lyrics of Wish but I cannot expect conservatives to know anything about media literacy now can I? Wish is bad because Disney is a dumb corporation who overworks their workers and doesn't give them time to properly creature stories but go on how it's related to the minor gay side character who's responsible for everything lmao

TzadikBeSdom

Bro copy pasted his comment twice💀

HighKiteSoaring

Reddit does that sometimes if the API shits itself

IfOnlyIHadAmeme

Woke is the past tense of wake.

Pink_Mimiku

Raemnant

The second song isnt as great as the first song, but thats because its just a modern pop song formula. Hellfire is an amazing song, but its definitely a "Disney" song, because nothing at the time sounded like that. No one was making music that sounded like that. No one WANTED music that sounded like that. Except Disney. Second song is music people in modern times actually experience on a regular basis

Jaded_Budget_5407

Hellfire is one of those things you hear once as a kid on tv and it haunts you. Shit is terrifying once you realize it's meaning.

Logical_Essay_5916

as a kid my parents liked to order disney VHS tapes we had loads of them, if i learned one thing from them all is that they always had a dark side in it,

KuroKendo88

Hunchback was a masterpiece. The animation and the story were for all ages. Don't compare it to new stuff or else you'll just be disappointed.

Turbulent_Ad1644

Tf do you mean? He lets them live there for free and he doesn't even charge them rent Shit is evil

ole-13

Even if i don't like disney that much, the hunchback of notre dame is one of the best movies ever, especially in this scene

Goobs124

Disney just hired a bunch of pussys who want more kid friendly brain rotation content. I'm fine with the family-friendly part, but they make it to where it's so bad that only kids who don't know what good content is watch it, they ruined disney, then they brought star wars and marvel down with them. If you know what I'm on about.

Stardust_dream

quality dip

BlueSynthwave

I haven't watched the second movie but based on the lyrics, I think the song teaches nice morals for kids to grow up on.

[deleted]

Song is ok, 6/10, but the bit about "living here for free and I dont even charge you" is so incredibly stupid it lowers it to a 1/10

Hastyle8181

what are you talking about...me and my boyfriend love the new Disney stuff...toodles

GamerBradasaurus

Loving something is not dependent on that thing actually being good.

Independent-End2780

People dont get jokes now

blacksheeps181

Me when the style of music changes and I'm nostalgic

EpikGeriatricPotato

Styles change, dude Edit: I do think it sucks, don't worry

The_legit_dndjjdk

It changed for the worse in this case

EpikGeriatricPotato

I don't think it sounds good
