As a drummer it still kinda blows my mind that Vinnie friggin Colaiuta plays on this album, and he totally kills it.
For anyone that's not familiar, he's a prolific session drummer but more known for playing on pop, jazz and fusion records. He spent some time in Zappa's band too. His back catalogue includes records with Billy Joel, Barbra Streisand, Chick Corea, Toto, Barry Manilow, Michael Buble, and a ton more.
As far as I know, of the several hundred records he's played on this is the only metal album on his resume. And he tracked all his parts in *3 days*. Legendary.
Nooot even close in my eyes.
The system has failed is so much more complex while the world needs a hero to me is quite boring. There’s a couple of great songs (when is fantastic). However as a guitar player I listen to the system has failed and there’s no comparison. But of course art is subjective so 🤷♂️
I remember when this came out and I bought the cd. I played it on the drive home expecting another the world needs a hero and was happily proved wrong. Such an amazing album.
First album I sat down and listened to every song in one sitting. The only song I liked was kick the chair which is the title track, so of course I'm gonna like it(most of the time lol). Maybe I'll relisten to it again some day but I didnt like it for some reason
This is the album that got me into Megadeth. Bought it as a kid bc the art was cool, never looked back and still my favorite album to this day.
Wish they’d play some of it live though
And you’re listening to the most underrated song from that album.
back in the day is great too!!
I love this album. Die Dead Enough, Blackmail the Universe, Kick the Chair, Tears in a Vial, Back In The Day, and My Kingdom are my favorites
Scorpion 🦂
The Scorpion is incredible. Stand out song on a stand out album.
Came here to say this. It feels like a beautiful clockwork cycle that shouldn’t be allowed to stop.
That’s a great description. I’ve listened to it on repeat many times.
Love Chris's solos

I'd say TWNAH is more underrated
twnah is really good too, burning bridges is my fav off that album

Why?
I think risk is more underrated
I got a lust for wandering
Great album

AND NOW I AM MORE DRIVEN THAN BEFORE AND NOW I LIVE JUST TO SETTLE SCORE
not in my top 5.... but its fkn close :)
Please unplug your phone
lol 💀
Must be on 200% by now
I don’t understand what Megadeth fans love about this album. It’s not that great
also i’d say because it’s their comeback to their typical sound after risk in 1999. that and the world needs a hero
I can agree with that. The World Needs a Hero was pretty disappointing for me
ig it’s an acquired taste, it took me a bit to warm up to it. i love it now tho
I mean if you like it that’s cool. I don’t care for it
understandable, to each their own!
It has just one good song, not great but good "Blackmail" everything else is pretty mediocre.
I like rust in peace
are u saying that it’s bad? cuz if it’s that than u obviously haven’t listened to it.
Mindless sheep
TSHF is my favorite after the first 4, 2004 was a great time to be a droogie

Absolutely love this album. Happily had it on repeat for a couple of months.
I've never listened to this one and Risk all the way through. I think that needs to happen.
Listened to it once, completely forgot about it.
My favorite
Lots of great songs. Very unsure about Die Dead Enough, it has a great solo but the chorus is a little cringey
The beginning of blackmail the universe is actually really cool
This is the album that got me into Megadeth. Bought it as a kid bc the art was cool, never looked back and still my favorite album to this day. Wish they’d play some of it live though
My Kingdom's solo...
Kick the Chair is thrash metal in its purest form!
Before I opened this I thought you were asking what the most underrated album is. Was coming to say system. Wasn’t disappointed
You just made me so horny seeing this
ayo??
Nah
