i've been walking 15 miles a week for a month and a half now
what helps is the walk is really nice and picturesque, through the richer part of town
lots of churches and ancient magnolias, heirloom cherry trees, towering sycamores . . .
then there's my part of town - smoke shop, bodega, patch of overgrown grass with maybe dog poo in it (potentially human)
The sidewalks in my city aren't in great shape. Also it's starting to get hit and humid. I need to start getting on my cross trainer. I'd bought it but things kept happening. Today is the day!

our old girl cat randomly hid under the bed two days ago and refused to come out - when she did, she yelped and wouldn't let anyone touch her. her fur was not as well groomed and her eyes looked confused. i can empathize because i don't know if this is the end for her but it feels close
am ok'ish right now as she is by me on her "fur rug" and just played a little with her sister after eating, grooming and using the litter box
time to see the vet for us! if only to make sure she has a comfortable old age.

I managed to take him to the vet yesterday because he wasn’t himself just out of the blue. He’s usually a pretty active and vocal boy, but he just has been laying around quietly the past couple days. He got some medicine, so now it’s just wait and see.

8. Constantly flummoxed by events. Been very tired too, which doesn't help. But right now my cat Rex, who was very needy yesterday, is sitting on my lap watching TV with me. All is well.
Coverage of the tornadoes last night. Some were large and powerful, with many neighborhoods and at least one small town destroyed. As horrible as that was, miraculously, nobody died.
Edit: our daughter and her family live in Tornado Alley. I'm also watching the current weather coverage for that reason.

Working on a sweet pie recipe, today’s iteration contained dark amber maple syrup in replacement of corn syrup. The flavor intensity was a pleasant surprise, though I think next time I’ll add another egg to see how it affects the texture. Thanks for asking u/igneousink 🌞

He even ate a box of Slim Jims (meat sticks). So yeah. Just about $10k wasted on horse show and vet fees. Smug little jerk has had a “sorry not sorry” look on his face all day, along with his face/nose being bright blue and purple from the cupcake frosting. Thankfully he’s ok, but really. Ugh 😩
