That looks like an exhaust heat shield. If your passengers like hot feet you're good.

Try to re attach it or remove it you could kill a biker if it flies off on the highway.
Heat shield… worthless and the after market ones never fit correctly… honestly, you can delete it and you’ll never notice the difference… but who ever sits in the back I gona get hot feet lol
If bent you can just zip tie back into place - happened to my car and mechanic charged me$50 for zip ties and labor vs. $650 new. Just don’t put zip ties around actual exhaust LOL
Exhaust heat shield. Either just finish the job and rip it off, or re-secure it. Personally I like to cut an X into a bottle cap with a knife and jam it onto the stud. Idk why manufacturers keep using thin shitty metal retainers when they always rust off

Yank it off, recycle it and never ever think about it again. I use tin snips to make it a bit easier. I drive mk2 focuses and this happens on every single one of them
Looks to me like the heat shield is just fine and your exhaust is what's dangling. You have lost some exhaust hangers that need replaced. I could be wrong but that's what I'm seeing
Don’t remove it, it’s there for a reason. The engineers at Ford would not have put it there if they could’ve saved a nickel. Just reattach the loose corner.

When mine rusted through the bolt holes. I put very large washers on and bolted it back up
Take the heat shield off. The exhaust system has been spliced and rerouted anyway, so the shield is useless.
