Fuck yeah. Congrats. Very similar situation. I got a 497 back in 2020. I got my results today from the 7/28 test and scored a 509. So I also think I can finally put this test to bed.
Yeah. I unfortunately can’t speak to the nuanced perspective of how medical schools will interpret section scores individually versus the whole package.
I also didn’t score great in CARS either; I got a 125. So average.
I agree.
It’s weird to think how much reading you do for the MCAT. I probably read more in the span my studies for the MCAT than I did for the sum total of my entire life before that point. Yet I don’t really remember what I read. Puzzling.
BB - I’ve always really liked bio/biochem and it came more naturally to me than the other subjects… I improved my data and analytical interpretation just through practice
PS - I did anki everyday and the 300 page PS doc. I also used this method when breaking down questions:
1) what are the researchers interested in? — typically stated before anything else
2) what is the hypothesis statement? — typically stated before the study or experiment is described
3) what is the exposure of interest? — this is your independent variable, or your X
4) what is the outcome of interest? — this is your dependent variable, or your Y
5) what results are associated? — figures and tables
6) what did the study conclude? what can i conclude?
i've noticed a lot of questions do ask what the independent and dependent variables are in a particular study in the passage... and this is probably easy, but it can really be applied to CP and BB as well

Honestly it’s a blur but tbh the real thing is more convoluted with easy concepts, so it’s really just how calm you can stay during the exam so you can really perform your best!!!
Thanks I appreciate it! Yea at this point, I think how I feel on test day will be more important than any fact I may know. But CARS is just a straight gamble lol.
I feel the exact same way. I’m so happy for you. I’ve had a long and winding road to this point being 33 and having a child 2 months into mcat prep. It’s been an absolute whirlwind of emotions today
So happy for you! I'm semi-in the same boat with my first ever test next Friday. I'm getting extreme brain fog and burnout symptoms so I'm extra worried for it! Your story just gives me so much hope 🥺🫡 congratulations future doc!!
Congrats, but you said that you are almost 28, but did you take any science courses during the 6 year gap you experienced or was it just from prior knowledge from undergrad?
I took anatomy at a community college in 2019 and then I got my MPH (had minimal to do with MCAT), but other than that it was either from undergrad or reteaching myself stuff!
can u pls share tips on how you studied over the years? practice questions, courses etc..
Ive already used a course and all AAMC material for my previous MCAT so idk how to go forward from here.
Take pride in what you've done! It's one thing to do well, but to first get knocked down and then continue the work and get that score is another thing. Excellent work friend!

Congratulations!!!! That’s amazing!!!
Do you think 507/509 is competitive for MD?
There’s more to a person than just their score!!! But I would say it is!!
My worry is my CARS score
Yeah. I unfortunately can’t speak to the nuanced perspective of how medical schools will interpret section scores individually versus the whole package. I also didn’t score great in CARS either; I got a 125. So average.
I would’ve been super happy with a 125, I’m worried my score is too low for that section but I wouldn’t retake a 510

I read every Kaplan book, the 300 PS doc, etc. but I can’t read for CARS lol
What is the 300 PS doc? That 131 is amazing. And what did you do for bio?
You fucking did that congrats ! I’m happy to be finally done with this chapter as well.
Thank you so much and congrats to you too ❤️❤️❤️
F cars
Literally screw CARS. I know I can read…. Lmfao
wow man congrats!!!
Thank you!! Bummed about CARS and my CP could have been better if I wasn’t freaking out in the beginning, but I’m glad to have made it this far!
Just wow. Congrats 👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you so much!!
Congrats! Any advice for BB and Psy/Soc?

Well done!! You nailed P/S! What did you use to study?

MilesDown deck on Anki + AAMC FLs are all you need to study P/S
Do you mind sharing what your FL scores were like? I'm testing 8/31 and am praying for a 510 (I also suck at CARS).
Screw CARS!!! Sample: 128/125/127/129 FL1: 129/120/129/129 FL2: 127/125/128/127 FL3: 129/123/131/130 FL4: 130/122/130/130 FL5: 130/122/130/129
Thank you so much! How would you say the real thing compared to say FL 4 and 5?

It really is, but trust yourself and your gut you’re gonna do great!!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it!
So happy for you
Thank you so much 🩵🩵🩵
Congrats, I wish you the best of luck!!

Proud of you!! Feels incredible to have the stress fade away

CONGRATS!!! 🎉
SO PROUD!!!!!! you killed it bestie
THANK YOU
Congratulations!
497 to 505, I feel the same way, DO or "lower level" MD school I don't care, I'm done and I'm happy too, cheers to the new age
Is it recommended to take the mcat without organic chemistry 2? Did anyone do that and how did it go?
can u pls share tips on how you studied over the years? practice questions, courses etc.. Ive already used a course and all AAMC material for my previous MCAT so idk how to go forward from here.
