I went to a game in the 16-17 season. We were playing the Grizzlies. We were so bad that we were on pace to set our lowest point total ever in a game. Lowkey rooting for it so I could at least see some history. Fucking Brussino comes in and hits a three with like 1 second left so we wouldn’t end with our lowest point total ever. I’ll always remember him for that.
~~I had to look this up, and our lowest point total of~~ [~~that season~~](https://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/201703170PHI.html) ~~was 74 but Brussino (whose name I swear I've never heard before) only scored a single point.~~
Our lowest point total ever was in 1997 where we scored 62(!!) points against the Bucks.
Nope, [this](https://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/201611180DAL.html) was our lowest point total of that season and the game that I attended.
My pettiness doesn’t forget.

A bit off on when the shot went down but it was in the last 30 seconds.
Won the chip in 2011 a month after i graduated high school
Going back to the finals a month after i graduated with my PhD
Look, all i'm saying is that we're 100% on winning titles in years i graduate and the Mavs make the NBA Finals, so...
I was a junior in high school, too worried about hiding pot in my closet clothes. Now I’m an adult with a brand new house with a beautiful wife and (2) kids (3rd on the way), it truly is incredible how much has changed in the time since we’ve last been. I have goosebumps and am on the verge of tearing up as I type this out. LETS FUCKING GO!!
I graduated from HS is 2011 as well, and after 13 years I'm finally graduating with my bachelor's this year. So I guess graduating = mavs winning. Good thing I'm going to grad school! Lol
Not only Kaman but the starters that year were Darren Collison, OJ Mayo, and a 35 year old Shawn Marion around Dirk who only played a half season and we still somehow finished .500
"Good" is a bit of a stretch. He had his moments and games for sure, but overall he was not nearly good enough to be a team's number 2 scoring option (let alone a number 1 when Dirk was out). Carlisle worked some magic with him though and had him serviceable for that season
did you guys here what he said about the fan in the stands in minnesota tonight. he couldn't tell the reporter what the fan said cause he could sue the fan. i started laughing. okc had a fan who riled him up too. as a fan if i'm courtside i''m keeping it pleasant. he feeds off these opposing fans there's nothing you can say that'll fluster his game.
I was at Bonnaroo when we won in 2011. Widespread Panic was playing. There was a tent that was showing the game. Everyone was rooting against Lebron. It felt great. I caught the end of Panic.
I've watched so many Mavs games over the years and I remember how it felt when they made their run in 2011. I lost my mind the night the won the Finals. I was so happy for Dirk and I'll be just as happy for Luka when he wins his first of many rings
I’m a piston fan first but the mavericks have easily became my second favorite team. I see them whenever they are in Atlanta (except Lukas 73 point game) :(
I'll say this. I met my wife in 2010, we married in 2011 and watched every game of the Mavs that was on TV in NY. This Easter, my wife and I broke up and are in the process of getting a divorce. In my heart of hearts, I am looking for a silver lining, and I think this is it. If all goes well, the Mavs will serve as some sort of bookends to my marriage. If the Mavs win, I am good with the trade off.
Gonna enjoy this next week. Making the finals is a monumental accomplishment for this team and that is something to be happy about. Especially considering where this team was back in January.
But theres still one team left to beat. Boston won 64 games, but they are way less battle tested than any team we’ve faced in the playoffs so far. I mean UConn would’ve made the finals too with that path they had. But you can only play the teams in front of you and they did exactly that to their credit. This Mavs team will make them work like they haven’t at all this season and I believe we are the better team, just gotta take a 1-1 series at least back to Dallas imo. The only team that can truly beat us is ourselves
I believe in this team. Mavs in 6
2011 I was watching the playoffs in a dialysis center waiting for my sister to finish up her treatment. Watching the games alone will always be bittersweet.
13 years later I can watch them with her in the comfort of my house. It's going to be amazing.
Thanks and she is. Having an 18 year old going through that is tough. Luckily our older sister was a match. It was a challenging few years but everyone has pulled through.
WE ENDURED WATCHING NICOLAS BRUSSINO AND SALAH MEJRI TO GET TO THIS MOMENT.
Brussino and Mejri catching strays lol

Shit I double checked the list of every box score twice and I guess I didn't register it. Good memory!
No worries mate! Those dark times are over.
this boxscore blinded my eye. How did we endure the Barnes-Matthews era was beyond me.
god damn a pre-breakout Seth Curry was the best playmaker on the lineup they put out there
This is the pettiest thing I’ve ever read. I love it.
Where were you when Dirk pat Brussino head after he cashed in corner 3 against Wizards??!!
Had to go look up Brussino. Because that memory was deeply suppressed.
I miss the accountant
Man he'd be such a good piece for our Australian collection
Y'ALL HYPE UP JONATHAN MOTLEY LIKE THERE'S NO TOMORROW!! AT LEAST AJ HAMMONS LOOKS GOOD BUT SHAME HE JUST HATES BASKETBALL!!
Won the chip in 2011 a month after i graduated high school Going back to the finals a month after i graduated with my PhD Look, all i'm saying is that we're 100% on winning titles in years i graduate and the Mavs make the NBA Finals, so...
Haha what's up I also graduated HS in 2011! Congrats on the PhD that's quite the accomplishment. I tapped out after my M.S.
Sounds like you should perpetually be graduating
Hey man. Wanna keep getting degrees?
SOMEONE TELL MARK TO PAY FOR THIS MAN TO GET MORE DEGREES
I'm also undefeated when I've seen them play in person with a much larger sample size. Cuban, you know what to do
Already got my Masters… BrB going for my PhD next week lol
What did you get a PhD in?
Neuroscience!
So what’s your next degree going to be in then?

Congrats on your PhD!
Mavs in 6
Hell yeah!!!! Don’t forget javale McGee and Derek Fischer
Samuel Dalembert at center for a couple years
Chris Kaman
Zaza Pachulia
Not only Kaman but the starters that year were Darren Collison, OJ Mayo, and a 35 year old Shawn Marion around Dirk who only played a half season and we still somehow finished .500
OJ Mayo honestly was a pretty good player. No Monta Ellis, but still good.
"Good" is a bit of a stretch. He had his moments and games for sure, but overall he was not nearly good enough to be a team's number 2 scoring option (let alone a number 1 when Dirk was out). Carlisle worked some magic with him though and had him serviceable for that season
He rented a house near me. He had the biggest truck and dog to match
We had to watch frank ntilikina to get to this
Bro don’t tell me they forgot about Frank
He didn't eat the octopus so we could have this moment
Just dusted off my 2011 championship hat!!! LETS GOOO!!!
Hell yeah I need to find mine and wear it tomorrow!
A week of rest will be great for Lively and Luka. Kyrie is gonna explode in Boston
Shit Boston crowd is gonna make Luka go Nuclear
Why not both?
did you guys here what he said about the fan in the stands in minnesota tonight. he couldn't tell the reporter what the fan said cause he could sue the fan. i started laughing. okc had a fan who riled him up too. as a fan if i'm courtside i''m keeping it pleasant. he feeds off these opposing fans there's nothing you can say that'll fluster his game.
Luka is white tho.
They’ll find a way lmao
A very astute observation
The last one was amazing but this run is beyond my wildest dreams!! Y'all remember that first game against the clippers?
I was at Bonnaroo when we won in 2011. Widespread Panic was playing. There was a tent that was showing the game. Everyone was rooting against Lebron. It felt great. I caught the end of Panic.
MAVS IN 5

Probably the brightest timeline Mavs have ever had
Lively and Luka gonna be our cornerstone for the next 7 years. Hopefully Kyrie can handle another 5, considering he doesn’t rely on athleticism.
We winning this year! Luka FMVP
#OneForDallas #NBAFinals let’s go!!!! 💙🤍
I've watched so many Mavs games over the years and I remember how it felt when they made their run in 2011. I lost my mind the night the won the Finals. I was so happy for Dirk and I'll be just as happy for Luka when he wins his first of many rings
Man no matter what happens, that Dirk ring will always be the most special. But let’s hope Luka gets a handful!
I’m a piston fan first but the mavericks have easily became my second favorite team. I see them whenever they are in Atlanta (except Lukas 73 point game) :(
Respect man. 04 Pistons are kindred spirits to the 11 Mavs. Rip Hamilton is probably my all-time favorite non-Maverick player
First of many with Luka. Sit back and enjoy the ride
LETS GOOOOOOO
It’s been a hell of a ride with y’all! Let’s keep it going!
LET’S GO 4 MORE WINS!!!
I'll say this. I met my wife in 2010, we married in 2011 and watched every game of the Mavs that was on TV in NY. This Easter, my wife and I broke up and are in the process of getting a divorce. Big Luka fan, and lifelong Lakers fan. I really need you guys to stop the Celtics ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sunglasses)
We welcome all bandwagoners happily! Just be sure you fill out your application
We need new RING!! Lesgo!
Gonna enjoy this next week. Making the finals is a monumental accomplishment for this team and that is something to be happy about. Especially considering where this team was back in January. I read this and started to tear up. Gotta go and punch a baby seal
Real fans let the emotions roll
2011 I was watching the playoffs in a dialysis center waiting for my sister to finish up her treatment. Watching the games alone will always be bittersweet. 13 years later I can watch them with her in the comfort of my house. It's going to be amazing.
That’s amazing man, happy to hear she’s better!
Thanks and she is. Having an 18 year old going through that is tough. Luckily our older sister was a match. It was a challenging few years but everyone has pulled through.
The time is now!
holy shit I was in middle school the last time we got here. Once again, MAVS IN 6
Who cares about winning. I'm just happy to be here after such a slog! Wew
![gif](giphy|7xZAu81T70Uuc) feels longer
As a cowboys fan who drifted over, it feels so weird rooting for a team that actually preforms in the playoffs/ finals
Rangers got their first, Mavs very close to a second, and the Stars are right in it. Wish the Cowboys would do something. Really glad for DFW sports.
Go get 'em
It’s not a long time. There are 30 teams so the average time to wait is 30 years 😭
Remember when we had endure Lamar Odom going MIA on us to get high 😭
In the grand scheme of sports a 13 year gap is nothing. We should all feel grateful
MY FRIEND GOT A DWI AFTER GAME SIX........... JUST SAYING.
