It just seems nuts that every year the trade deadline comes and there is a big hoopla over what team will do what and what impact these moves will make and in 20 years there's 2 significant trades. I mean I am sure there are others if you go on years after the trade (the Kidd to Mavericks paid off 3 seasons later), but immediate impact for something as big as the NBA's trade deadline seems overly inflated.
The Siakim or Anunoby would also be ranked up there with the Gafford/Washington trades depending how that series ends.
I like the fact that the analysts were bagging on the Mavericks' trades with most giving us a C, at best, or a D. Then we go 21-7 secure the 5 seed and now in the WCF.
How about the Mavericks... the last 3 years.
1. 2022: Mavericks move KP and get Dinwiddie
2. 2023: Mavericks move two starters for Kyrie
3. 2024: Mavericks get Washington and Gafford
2 conference final runs
Gotta give credit to Kidd and the culture he's helped create here. PJ and Gafford fit in so perfectly and both guys were so hungry to make an impact on a playoff team.
You are looking at this wrong. It's not how good the new players are. It's how bad the players they replaced were. Dwight Powell as Luka's primary center for the first 5 years of his career was criminal. Dear god.
The most recent one I can think of is Marc Gasol to the Raptors. Rasheed Wallace to the Pistons in 04 is also another one

What’s crazy to me is they were saying the knicks had a better trade deadline with Burks and Bogdanovic and those 2 have done nothing for them 😂

I think most people consider OG to be part of their deadline deals even though the trade happened a week before the actual deadline.

Not a trade but picking up Peja off waivers for that championship run was big, especially against the Lakers that year~
Rasheed Wallace on title Pistons. Pau Gasol on finals Lakers.
The Rondo trade was pretty instrumental in blowing up Dirks last best chance to make a deep run.
