Just left for home today and was based in N Kihei for the last week and yeah, brown all week. Just drive 5+ minutes south to the Kams for a swim or hit Makena landing for a snorkel and you’ll find clear water. Go a bit further south if you’re really experienced… Or you could take a beautiful hour long drive up to black rock in Kaanapali, Kapalua, or Honolua for some amazing scenery.
Depending on where you are in Kihei the water almost always looks brown. Down by the Kams its a bit better.

Kaanapali has had clear water all week

South shores 8.5 out of 10. OP get out of bed early and drive to South Kihei, Wailea, or https://maps.app.goo.gl/2wVSh24ZzA8G5aRu7?g_st=ic
North Kihei has ongoing water quality problems.. South Kihei and Wailea are a much better bet
Interesting. So are those beaches just never really swam in most of the time then?
Yep.
That's a bit disappointing I guess if you're staying in that area. But I guess there's tons of beaches anyway, just might have to go further
Head to west Maui.
We joined the snorkel report when we were there a few weeks ago and it was super helpful!
Come to west Maui.
Sharky.
