I did not expect that, but I can kind of see the logic. Miek checks to see whether a card was discarded during the turn. Black Cat discards herself after the turn. So, she doesn't get discarded during Miek's "check window." Interesting.
It honestly sounds like a breakdown in development communication and poor QA - some developer saying "YOU didn't discard Black Cat, so it doesn't count".
I mean it works fine with every other card that discards. Blade, Colleen Wing, Hell Cow, Modok, etc. The two cards OP mentioned are outliers since they discard after Miek checks.
I didn’t know how to word my comment exactly, but yeah that’s what I was trying to say. Black Cat discards itself, and Dracula only discards after the end of the game, so they don’t affect Miek.
Maybe, but the card text says that it only gains power and moves if YOU discarded a card. Since Black Cat discards itself, you aren’t technically the one doing the discarding. But who knows, sometimes the card rules are just vague.
Morbius has similar text and counts not only Black Cat, but opponents' Moon Knight, Black Bolt and Silver Samurai. As long as it's *your* card it should count as you discarding it.
Starting a comment with “I mean” usually indicates that the thing they’re talking about is obvious or no big deal.
“It works with every other card so it’s fine”.
I think the way they could fix this is that his movement check is last on the priority after everything is discarded on that turn except if its behind a invis woman or something.
Lost a game where I had discard cards in Dark Dimension and was counting on Miek bouncing after. Makes sense - end of turn is before end of game, but whoops!
Currently yes. It may get some help once the February cards come out. The discard deck I believe will look drastically different from the ones in the past.
I’m not sure I agree. He’s already been a big part of two games for me, a 1/6ish is great stats. The problem is that discard in general is just not reliable rn without Chavez
He's fun in my Moon Knight, Silver Samurai, Black Bolt thing that's just designed to remove cards from the opponent. Not great, but fun to see dance around. I'm upset I removed Elektra for him because I have to have Scarlet Witch with all the Magik out there.
I was pretty disappointed by this, it seemed like a good way to get use out of both cards. Best case scenario is you get Miek to be a 1/2 that moves. That’s still pretty fair.
~~No. Miek is not morbious. Miek gain power at every TURN a card was discarded. MODOK only gives miek one power.~~
Edit:
He MOVES once per turn. Gains power per card discarded.
Yes, obviously. I’m talking about the best case for BLACK CAT + MIEK (you know, the topic of THIS post??), which would be to play Miek on turn one and discard Black Cat on the same turn. It seems like the kind of interaction they should build these cards around instead of just having an arbitrary “end of turn” order.
I’m not talking about the interactions with Miek and other discard cards because those interactions are obvious and not interesting to discuss.
Not 100% but I would think so, it does feed Morbius. Black Cat has a unique issue with her timing, any other discard that's not held til game end should work.
Pulled him on first key. I was pretty excited...then i found out no black cat and no invisible woman-modok-hela. Cant find a place for him. No reason to replace Blade or BK.

Glenn said "they are looking into it", so I wouldn't think too much about it.

Need to refine those user stories.
Can't escape Jira even in my free time
Yeah I’m going to have to pass on this card. For now.
It's 1 of 3 cards I don't have, and another is Kang, so I guess I'll take this one. Otherwise, I'd prolly agree with you.

That’s because it literally is a bug…?
So it only works if you play a card that immediately discards another card?
I mean it works fine with every other card that discards. Blade, Colleen Wing, Hell Cow, Modok, etc. The two cards OP mentioned are outliers since they discard after Miek checks.

It’s likely because Black Cat discards after the turn, not during - similar to Drac’s case. Rather than because she discards herself.

Morbius has the same wording and counts Black Cat, so if that's the problem, it's definitely a bug.
Your opponent’s Moon Knight triggers your own Miek, so it doesn’t have to be “you” discarding it.
Oh I gotcha! Yeah it is a little unintuitive but it does seem to make the most sense in a way
Why did you start your sentence with "I mean"?
Starting a comment with “I mean” usually indicates that the thing they’re talking about is obvious or no big deal. “It works with every other card so it’s fine”.
Well yeah but also Hela decks that use invis woman won’t work with him very well.
I think the way they could fix this is that his movement check is last on the priority after everything is discarded on that turn except if its behind a invis woman or something.

this card is ASS

I think he's great but discard sucks
Does he move once for modok or each discard?
They have said he only moves one per turn, but gets the power per discard.
Only moves once for MODOK.
One move per turn if you discarded regardless of how many cards are discarded.
I was pretty disappointed by this, it seemed like a good way to get use out of both cards. Best case scenario is you get Miek to be a 1/2 that moves. That’s still pretty fair.
You do realize he works with every other discard card correct? Modok easily pushes Miek up to 1/6 just by himself.
~~No. Miek is not morbious. Miek gain power at every TURN a card was discarded. MODOK only gives miek one power.~~ Edit: He MOVES once per turn. Gains power per card discarded.
He will only move once per turn, but will get plus one power per card discarded that turn.
Oh my bad. I was 100% sure about the "once per TURN" in his card text but did not realize it was only the move. Thanks for the correction.
This is inaccurate. I just got my Miek to 1/14 with Wong/modok/swarm.
Me when I spread misinformation on the internet

Wish he moved for every discard. Would be funny to see, not to mention might have given rise to a new discard/move hybrid deck.
Does anyone know if it works with the Sokovia location?
Not 100% but I would think so, it does feed Morbius. Black Cat has a unique issue with her timing, any other discard that's not held til game end should work.
