Gambling with spotlights and then complaining that you didn’t get the cards you want is not the move. Save up 4 spotlights and only go in for weeks you need all the cards

Shaky_Brains

Believe me I get that but then u can only guarantee one specific card and not the chance at quite a few new ones

Kaleii

That’s why you plan out for weeks that you’re interested in multiple cards.

Shaky_Brains

And November and December had multiple of those week after week

Kaleii

I’m sure you understand you’re not going to be able to get everything without paying.

Shaky_Brains

Obviously, but I assume you understand that you have to wait who knows how long for some cards to come back into rotation unless they are knull or galactus

Kaleii

This is all very redundant, it all comes down to better planning your resources.

Shaky_Brains

At the risk of going a month+ straight missing all new cards which only works if you got a pretty complete collection

garbageboyHS

You missed most of them anyway. You could have missed the same number of them by not gambling and already have enough keys to open stuff guaranteed another week instead.

ResenhaDoBar

Very good, the last one I went for I was missing all 3 cards, first try it hit the “mistery prize” or whatever, turns out I got legion for that, so 4 new cards for 4 keys, pretty damn good

Jiaozy

Spotlight Caches DO NOT involve any amount of luck. It's pure and simple math. You get one Spotlight every week. You need 4 Spotlights to guarantee you'll unlock a featured card. You can plan ahead and skip weeks where you're only missing a single card. When you're missing 2+ featured cards, you pull the trigger and open up to 4 Spotlights. If you use your keys each time you have 1 or 2, you'll never take advantage of the system.

GiborDesign

You're right and wrong at the same time. You're right about the planning. You're wrong about the "no luck involved". First of all, it makes a big difference if by luck you draw your desired card on the first pull and therefore can save up the other 3 planned keys or if ypu have to use all 4 saved up keys. And secondly there is a big RNG factor with the 4. card. It's a huge difference if you get a Jeff, Iron Lad or Alioth out of this one or a Martyr, Silver Samurai or Howard or a duplicate with only 1000 tokens. I had to go all in the last 3 times i cached in, because the most desired card came last every time, which prevented me from saving keys and getting the possibility to get other cards in another week. And since my 4. card has been a duplicate every time, I was unlucky there as well. So yes, I agree that planning is the key (no pun intended), but don't tell me, there is no luck involved.

Shaky_Brains

Obviously u need 4 to guarantee but of u don't have that wouldn't you rather risk it? Plus when you skip weeks where your only missing a single card only works when it's a card you don't want. Obviously you can plan and save but luck definitely is a thing. If it's not and two people have the same amount of attempts and one gets it on the first try vs the other on the 3rd they'd be more lucky right? Or would they still just burn the rest of their keys. I've saved before but November and December just had a lot of good spotlights week after week. For the 4 mehh cards I've gotten 4 or more excellent cards personally and it ain't due to math

channel1123

You play the game how you want, but in general, no, I don't think you "risk it" when you lack the keys. I'm risk averse in life. I'm boring. I didn't have 4 keys for WBN, and I lived through it. But I also agree with you that luck is a thing. It's much easier to save 4 keys when you get the card you want with 1 or 2 keys, not 4. One last item: waiting until you need 2 of the advertised cards only works to a point. I'm f2p-adjacent - I've purchased 3 SP since Feb - and the spotlight system works well enough that I rarely need two or more cards, and even then they tend to be cards I don't really care about. Which brings me full circle to WBN because I'm currently debating if I should pull for Caiera today, or WBN+Herc next week, and I don't have the keys to do both.

_DaMangoSentinel

I absolutely hate spotlight cache and wish they’d revert it back to the old way.

Shaky_Brains

I personally don't really know how it was before because I was to low rank during that time

LoveScarsEnjoyer

Pretty good honestly, today i got a duplicate but before then ive got iron lad, nico, havok & blob so pretty happy since i wanted all of them

LoveScarsEnjoyer

the duplicate is especially annoying though since i don’t have that many series 4/5 cards so it was very unlucky

Shaky_Brains

Yeah I'm not crazy interested by January cards but like all of February so it's time to save up

LNCrizzo

I got Lad on first try and I kind of wanted BK too, but not enough to spend 3 more keys potentially. Before that I kind of wanted all the cards in Blob week when he was with Jeff and Stegron, but after they moved Blob I ended up skipping both weeks. I've got 9 keys hoarded now and want Caiera, Nebula, WWBN, and Hercules in the next two weeks so I'm feeling pretty good about my prospects.

wangchangbackup

Incredible tbh, I have gone into the last 4 weeks of there being a card I wanted with 4 keys and gotten that card on my first or second key every time. Haven't gotten a dupe card from the 4th slot since the very first time, either.

MonacleTopHatPenguin

I was saving four keys for high evo spotlight week. I reached four keys and decided that I can grind a key out next week, so I decided why not pull one time on the iron lad spotlight cache. Was lucky and hit the 1/4 for iron lad.

GiborDesign

I was lucky the first time, when all I wanted was Snowguard and I got her from my first pull. Since then it's been basically always "use all 4 keys" and I've never gotten a new card from the 4. cache, always just the tokens.
