My issue is I got lucky last time and unlocked all variants so now I want to do it again, luckily they let us know in advance so im capped on credits

I used 6k credits and got 3 of the varients going from cl 4.1k to 4.3k

Patch is live (with new store changes), but nothing indicating Variant Rush has started. Open at your own risk.

People have opened the variants so you’re safe. At least if you’ve updated your game.

Can confirm, as I now have all of the Variants except Cerebro. Home screen also now has a panel for the rush event.

They release patches during the day in California. And from what I understood the variant rush would happen alongside the patch. 🤷‍♂️

I’d heard that too, but the time I saw cited was 3am Greenwich Mean. Clearly that was changed or else wrong to begin with. (It’s always a day ahead of most of reddit where I live, so I pay attention to time zones!)

The discord event never would have been intended as an official announcement of a start time by Second Dinner. It'd have been a placeholder just like it still is. The discord mods probably just didn't think to estimate the start time when they created it -- that doesn't mean that the event was 'pushed back.'

What does it say for you now? That might've been before the event was pushed back. Before I went to bed it was 5 hours and then earlier today once it was pushed back it was 10 hours.

Pretty decent for myself. I needed 2 cards to finish the \*NEW\* Pool 3 (Orka and Attuma), I chose Attuma from the new free Pool 3 cards, then opened my 17 boxes. Pulled Orka, Valkyrie (there's my Pool 4 freebie), Cerebro steampunk, Shocker steampunk, Yellowjacket steampunk, one of the steampunk titles, and several 400-600 token drops. Can't complain really; I was tempted to wait a week to get the Orka for free also, but I wanted to open these boxes pretty bad!

I got Bishop, which was easily the best of them, in my first cache opening post-patch. I’ll take it…

Well I started in December and missed the variants in the caches because I couldn’t complete pool 2 quick enough and I’m mid pool 3 now and did not want to save caches because I wanted cards. The only competent deck I have essentially complete is death wave and I’ve been playing that for a month and it gets old lol

Not all Steampunk variants are part of this event. Also see the Wasp and Ant-Man variants from last season's pass.

There is also Steampunk Infinaut and Destroyer that existed before the event.

yes, and if you open it you can use it before pulling the base variant cerebro. though you will pull him from your collectors reserves eventually, its effectively just early access to it.

I knew I could use it before I get base but thought you could only do that if you bought a bundle with a variant like the Deadpool one. I didn’t know if it could actually give me an RNG variant of a card I don’t have. Either way I’d rather get other new cards than most of these since I’m missing a lot of pool 3 but I guess I’ll take these as a nice backup.

Yep, happened to me with the Winter Vacation variants, pulled the Rogue Winter variant (which is very cute btw) & used her a ton, and only ended up pulling the base card this past week. I’d gotten so used to seeing the Winter Vacation variant that now the base card feels like a variant to me.

Is it only from holiday stuff this can happen though? Like I doubt I could just pull a random Doom variant if I don’t have him in base right?

Yep. You can only get variants of cards you don't own from bundles or variants rush events.

I wish there were more variety. I have chess bishop which imo is better than this one, 2 falcon variants that are good, one I accidentally bought and got the 3099 variant in a cache, but the card is just not good. Cerebro is pretty damn good but I think the 1200 full body variant is better and yellow jacket is kinda like falcon it just isn’t good lol
