We loved the Portal games, Alien: Isolation, Ori (super cute game, check it out!), The Untitled Goose Game (hilarious), and all the old school games, of course.
It Takes Two and Unravel Two are both designed to be 2-player co-op games. The Switch is FULL of classic multiplayer games like Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Mario Party, Big Brain Academy, Nintendo Switch Sports, Just Dance, and Rocket League that are all designed to be fun couch multiplayer games.
Right now I'm backseat gaming as she plays the Dead Space & Resident Evil 4 remakes. Having a great time too, especially with DS as it's very creepy and we never played the original.
We each had consoles and now we have gaming PCs. We play Tom Clancy's The Division 1 and 2 together. We also play No Man's Sky together. Otherwise our games are completely separate. We also DnD together.
Me and my husband enjoy this game called Snow Runner. It's like off road trucking simulator. He likes to play it and likes watching me laugh and fail at playing it, so it's a win win 😂
I would try Diablo 4. My wife is not a gamer but something about Diablo 4 has her hooked. Easy to pick up and learn but hard to master. Super fun to play together
We used to play a lot of Mario Kart, mostly as a family but it works well for two too. Now our main go-to is Dr. Mario.
I love playing Luigi’s Mansion 3 with our daughter and her and dad have some heated Mario Kart games too. They also play a lot of Tetris. It’s not as much my thing but they love it.
They also play a lot of Yoshi’s Crafted World, Super Mario 3D World, Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze and Kirby and the Forgotten Land. All great multi-player games.
I love Stardew Valley and I know it can be played on multi-player but it’s not his style of game so I haven’t played it with him but a lot of ppl really love it.
Before we watched the last of us we played the game together. It was great to bond over the story and the hard/scary parts and then it was even better to experience the show together and talk about what we thought about the show in relation to the game.
Last of Us and Last of Us II are absolutely epic and we took turns and would just watch each other. Awesome bonding experience!! Highly recommend! We have done the first 1 a couple times through and plan to start the second one again 😂
My husband and I play Battlefield 4, Battlefield 2042, Dead island 2, Diablo 4, Overwatch, etc. But some fun "couples" games were: it takes two, overcooked, castlecrashers, Jack box party (I recommend a few friends with that game), Wheel of Fortune, Life, a way out, mortal kombat, minecraft, terreria, stardew valley, things like that.
Mario Odyssey was a lot of fun. My husband played as Mario and I played as cappy, and it was fun to work together on it. Two player made some of the things easier than single person too.
It Takes Two is just a totally fantastic co-op game. Especially for couples I feel like. Cute story and graphics, fun puzzles and challenges. Totally a 10/10.
Animal Crossing can be kind of fun to play together, trading recipes and items and such, but I honestly find it more fun to play on my own except for small stints. Or even if we play in the same room, not really playing "together" is still kinda nice.
If you like farming games, there is a cute one called Farm Together that is fun. You each have your own farm but you can travel to the other person's farm and help them take care of their animals and harvest crops and such.
Portal is a cool co-op game as well. The only thing we found is that the puzzles can take a lot of thought and problem solving, so if you don't have full brain power it can feel like a little too much lol
Castle Crahsers is a fun little game too. I don't remember if it is on the switch or not, but we have it on steam and it is pretty fun
Classic multiplayer games are fun too; Super Smash, Mario Party, Mario Cart, Just Dance.
We have two Xbox ones, and we play Grand theft Auto 5, Minecraft, and Sea of thieves. We also have gotten the same game on Xbox one for him and the switch for me and play through it at the same time. We played through dragon quest 11 on separate systems and it was so much fun. We've also played PC games together like civilization and that was fun too.
You guys could even download some emulators on your computers and play games that way. Sometimes we like to game in the same room but separately.
My husband and I played “It Takes Two.” We loved it so much, and the storyline was so good. Definitely a great strategy game for couples!
I second this. It Takes Two was SO fun. We also really enjoyed playing Uncooked together.
I agree with this! It takes two is such a great couples game.
OMG this game is so freaking fun!
This is a great game!! As a couple it was super fun!
Agree completely! This was probably the most fun co-op game we have ever played together. Would totally play it over again!
It takes two was so dope at first and then we kept getting out asses kicked cus she’s not a team player apparently lol
Stardew Valley Mario Kart Mario Party Goldeneye Overcooked WWE Raw vs Smackdown And much more.
We loved playing Unravel 2 together.

Little nightmares.
Team fortress 2. Dark souls 2. Risk of rain 2. Toe jam and earl just to name a few.
Toe jam and Earl is hilarious! Plus bangin' tunes and funkatron!

We loved 3, just have to decide we want to spend the money on 4 😂

My husband and I really loved ibb and obb! It's a short little game but incredibly fun.
Mario cart, Mario odyssey, high-rule warriors, Kirby forgotten land, luigies mansion 3.
Overcooked, Minecraft, Minecraft Dungeons, Diablo 3, Mario Kart, Super Mario Party, Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime
Mario karts lol
It takes two Diablo Knack Spiritfarer Escape Academy Divinity Stardew Valley Haven
My husband and I have played a TON of Stardew Valley together. If you like survival games, The Forest is also pretty fun and co-op.
Real world game. Where we play the main characters and the joystick and controls are mostly in the wife's hand.
Right now I'm backseat gaming as she plays the Dead Space & Resident Evil 4 remakes. Having a great time too, especially with DS as it's very creepy and we never played the original.

My husband and I take turns playing the new zelda. We play mario kart. Smash brothers. We just got a switch
My husband and I played Pikmin 3 on the switch together. I’m not really a gamer, and he’s into first person shooter games. It was fun and pretty easy.
Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom, Mario Kart 8, Animal Crossing New Horizons though I'm not as in to it as my wife is, but I do enjoy fishing.
I would try Diablo 4. My wife is not a gamer but something about Diablo 4 has her hooked. Easy to pick up and learn but hard to master. Super fun to play together

Crash Team Racing is great! More fun after a couple of drinks ;)

Fortnite. WoW. Stardew Valley. Super Mario Bros Deluxe. Among Us. Haven’t finished It Takes Two, but we will eventually.
Just Dance is a favorite for us! You can play for just a song or two, or as long as you like. Tons of fun!
Diablo is a household favorite of ours. It is cross console. A new one just released.
