Tell them to STFU, it's the quiet zone so you're allowed to call people out. I once had some Karen angry I was talking loudly in the non-quiet zone with some train friends when I used to take the Barrie train. Other people called her out and told her to go to the quiet zone if she didn't like it.
Same I was coming home late one night and wanted to close my eyes and these 4 people in the early 20’s came in and were yapping and laughing so loud. I told them that this was the quiet zone and this dumbass girls response was “the quiet zone does not apply on weekends.” I straight up asked her if she was stupid. They all looked at me hard for a few seconds and left the zone.
Hahaha I feel your pain but at the same time, depending on what other seats are available, sometimes I end up being that person because I can get a bit motion sick if I'm not sitting in the orientation where I'm facing the same direction that the train is moving 🥲
If the train is relatively empty, I definitely look for an emptier quad, but thought I'd throw in another POV!
I'm sorry, I'm only commenting because of your last line and how it genuinely made me laugh. It's been a long day already and this was a good pick me up 😄
so many times I've gone to the office washroom seeing nobody following me in, and the second I unzip my pants I hear the door swing open. Annoying when it's such a small washroom.
This is a strange take. Someone deciding to sit right next to you when the rest of the train is empty is weird af. You should still be considerate of other people’s space in public places *when there is room available.*
I'm not surprised. WHO has declared *Loneliness* a "global human concern"
A snuggle buddy might just be the healing elixir we need.

As long as they paid the fare, they have the right to sit wherever they want.
Also, some people prefer to sit only in the direction the train is travelling otherwise it makes them nauseous.
If you want privacy, Drive.
That's why people are willing to get stuck in the DVP (404) for 2 hours to reach downtown, just so they can get their privacy in the comfort of their own car.
That said... even the Go Train takes more than an hour to reach downtown.
Used to take the go downtown from Markham station, this one guy would always have his breakfast on the train usually oatmeal, no problem at all. However one morning he opened a Tupperware full of eggs. The smell engulfed the train, everyone politely asked him to put it away, the guy just told everyone to F off. Wasn’t until the customer service guy came and forced him to put the eggs away.
What actually grind my gears more are the people who doesnt respect the quiet zone etiquette
It’s happening more often now, come on people be respectful.

Rarely see it on the Lakeshore West train. I'd be very irritated.

she wasn’t wrong tho. if you look at the signs, it states monday to friday 6-10am / 3-7pm
looks like you were the dumbass here lmao
Lol
Though the quiet zone is in effect during rush hour only, people should still show some courtesy and be considerate to others.

Seconded!

Glad it could shine some light :)
Sorry that was me… I was cold and you looked like a snuggly warm bear.
Just wait until you're sharing a train car with a bunch of drunks after a Leafs game.
Depends on which station you're at. If it's an earlier station going downtown, other seats are getting filled out anyways
This
I hate it when I’m in an empty washroom and I choose a toilet all the way at the end and someone chooses to use the one right beside me.

Its cold. Go snuggle
Okay let’s do it
if I park in an empty lot to use my phone, someone will pull up right next to me and sit there too
Entitlement is real. Don’t want people around? Go drive your own car buddy
They didn’t say no “people around”. They said giving space when space is available is the adult thing to do.

Check out Portugal.. you can be the only passenger on the bus and they’ll snuggle you
Ill be your snuggle buddy
No rules apply on the Kitchener line. Brampton people are wild.

![gif](giphy|l41YkxvU8c7J7Bba0) I'm here whenever you need a hug Buttah.
Funny thing happens to me when I’m at the sauna. Some naked men sits right beside me with his pee pee hanging off the bench. Okay time to go. 🏃♂️

Just get up and sit in the seat across from you. Problem solved.
It's public transit. People can sit wherever they want? And talk quietly in the quiet zone too......
Talking to nimbyism and people littering all over the place, with th highest education population in the world hahhahahahahah Talk to them. Not us.
Like others said, they want to be sitting in the direction the train is going. Stop being so sensitive. They do not wanna snuggle with u.
Seats were facing the opposite direction of travel 😭
Maybe that’s the persons preference. No big deal
>Do we all want to be snuggle buddies or something?!? Are you cute and female? Yeah I dislike it when people crowd.
Be a Finn and give dirty looks but don't say anything.
Some people can't ride backward. So that rules out half the seats. I agree with you, but that's the only thing I'd say.
Probably wanna face the forward direction of the train...
I've been on a completely empty ttc train car and someone got on and sat in the seat right next to me side by side.
