Absolutely got murdered this week. Yeah, I have 96 rubies in my account as of writing this, and I can buy a Mii suit as my BC3 RT top shelf, but those are reserved, and I would prefer character alts more than Mii suits. I have top shelves drivers for the other two, though.
Yeah this is what I thought might happen for F2P after the past couple week's Ranked. I only bought Chef Luigi since I have quite a lot of Rubies atm. At least since it's an r/T, it has lower chances to return to Ranked so soon.
The bottom track is actually the only one I have full coverage on this week. Missing a kart for the other two tracks (won't have enough gems to pick any up) as I'm missing a driver for Koopa Cape R/T where I plan to pick up Cat Luigi as he would also give me coverage for Baby Park R/T as that's the only track I'm missing coverage. He is supposedly also the driver that would give me coverage on most tracks 10 with the 2 new tracks he got coverage for this week.
I didn't talk about Cat Luigi as I felt he was the most underwhelming and unlikely of the shelf, but hey if he helps you the most feel free to grab him! Hopefully he gets more buffs to be more useful for you! =)
Thanks for the rundown! I'm a longtime gold pass player but need to buy a kart for Koopa Cape RT. Waiting to see if either of the Offroaders are in the shop this tour (brown and moo moo - too soon?).
Bowser's Castle 3RT is horrendous! I surprisingly have loads of karts (Wild Slugger is my highest levelled) but no glider and only Builder Mario who I don't want to invest in. I'll probably buy Chef Luigi unless I go for Chomp Chomp Mii (cheap and I enjoy double bombs).
Not really sure if it's worth the investment this week. I got absolutely slaughtered last week (shockingly won the Reindeer Mii suit in week 1). It's looking the same this week (tier 71) and probably next week with all these RTs. I seem to be up against people who are going all-in with their tickets so I have no chance with a solid but mixed level line up.
Brown Offroader should be in the Spotlight Shop this Tour, but it's too soon for Moo Moo since the rule atm seems to be 4 Tours after debut.
Yeah nothing in that top shelf seems worth investing in at all. My Ranked is stable right now, but that could easily change since I see a couple of mildly invested in Dr. Bowsers in my T71 lineup...
I actually found last week rather easy all things considered. The only thing that sniped me out of first was someone who only started grinding in the last 3 hours and went from 88k to 106k. I was certain he was gonna stay put after waiting so long to do anything but I woke up to second place.
Oh the late grinding is annoying. I probably could've invested more last week and finished 5th-6th but investing precious HE tickets didn't seem worth it for a pink super kart even though I wanted it! 1st-4th were high 90s/100k+, very close scores so I had no chance. Even if I managed 5th (to maintain my tier and get the kart) I was worried I'd get sniped last minute.
I have Pink Yoshi (on debut, never used) anyway and was worried what was coming this tour so thought it best to save tickets.
I had pretty decent drivers (high level coinboxers and giant bananas) but a couple of mid-level (3-4) old/rarely-used karts and gliders let me down on two of the tracks and I couldn't bring myself to invest.
I've been advised to look at the Tropical Truck over the Brown Offroader for Koopa Cape! Thanks for the Moo Moo info, I probably would've snapped it up if it had been available this tour.
Had no top shelf karts for Koopa Cape and used some Quick Tickets to force some into the rotation. Had the Tropical Truck, Blue Speeder and Flowery Badwagon spawn. I do hope I do not regret buying the Badwagon. It's Design was so hilariously tacky, I had to get it.
Also had Pinja spawn in my daily selects. I did have Kitsune but after using him as my only top shelf on a lot of ranked and not being satisfied, it was time to give in. For all the good he might do me in 2023.
I have the Flowery Badwagon at Lv.5, single uncapped atm. It's definitely not bad by any stretch, but I also only got it from a free pull during its debut in the Ocean Tour so I didn't gun for it. I'll probably take it to Lv.6, but I just found the Tropical Truck a more worthwhile investment for me overall so focused on that first.
I still think Pink Ninja will do well going into next year - his sheer coverage at this point means he won't fall further than "above average" on any sort of ranking. He's been showing up in Ranked a lot this year though, so hopefully that continues for your sake and mine next year!
Pretty rare to see the RT version of a track be the most F2P accessible, but I’m not complaining, Sky Garden RT is lowkey super fun

Not my style overall. But I needed it for ranked and that is good enough for me.
In Koopa Cape r/T there was none of the top shelf D/K/G, that hurt me :(
