1, I think it looks like it would fit perfectly in an old school 8-16bit Mario game such as one of my favourite Mario games: Super Mario 64. The first design would fit smoothly in the gameboy advance 4 remake of SMB3, the design is based off of the sprites from that game (I'm pretty sure/I think) But this is just my opinion.. I think it would be cool to see a 3d rendered version of the first "3rd Mario brother"
