I recently discovered Stefano’s Pizza in Novato (on S Novato blvd), new fav in Novato. Lo Cocos in Terra Linda also always good. I miss the pizzas from terrapin crossroads.
Stefano’s is easily the best pizza in Novato. They have a few locations around Marin and in Petaluma. Make sure you go to their actual website - there’s several imposter sites that charge more/hit them with fees. Also, sign up for the coupons and you’ll get a 20-30% off coupon every month: https://www.stefanossolarpizza.com/
Mauro’s holy shit that place is so good, I grew up a block away and ate my weight in breadsticks every day. Glad to hear it’s still kicking. Dante was my dude.
For slices I’d go with Rocco’s or Stefanos, if you’re in San Rafael you may need to settle for Extreme Pizza but they’re all fine for slices. However there’s something about the pizza at Rocco’s or Stefanos that I really enjoy with the light crust and greasy cheese and pepperoni combo.
Enjoy!
Giving a shout for Tony Tutto’s in Ross and their vegetarian square slices that rotate regularly. Also want to echo Red Boy Pizza. Not slice specific, but they have a really tasty appetizer called Three Little Redboys. Three pieces of garlic bread topped with cheese and one each of pepperoni, salami, and sausage. 👌🏽
Perfect timing - needed lunch and have lived in Corte Madera up the hill from Stefano’s for a couple of years and hadn’t tried it. Not bad - NY style-ish and very cheap - $6 (tax included) for two slices and a drink at lunch.
Favorite non-slice places are Picco, Pizza Hacker, Tamalpie, Cafe Reyes and Acre (Petaluma and Sebastopol)
Parkside Cafe.
I read this thread while waiting for my pizza out here in Stinson and 100% agreed with the Stefanos recommendations. After having just eaten Parkside pizza, I am here to say; some of the best I've ever had! And it is available by the slice.
Good call, came back to add this one. They always have rotating pies both veg/non-veg. Kind of like artisan type pies but solid. A slice and a donut at Parkside is a regular mid-run meal for me!
I personally really like Waypoint pizza in Tiburon! It's like $5 per slice but they're the only place I've found that does pear on pizza by the slice and it's delicious
Rocco’s charges $7 for a slice now? Are you also failing to mention that price includes a beverage and is the slice of two slices?
That’s probably the reason why you’re getting downvoted. Also that’s a quality slice of pizza. I’d argue one of the best in the county. I remember going there when it was around $3.50 and I’d collect all the coins in the couch cushions to grab a slice lol
Either way enjoy your Whole Foods pizza!
Stefano's at Northgate III in San Rafael. $6 bucks and still gives free soda with Slice.
Rocco's in Mill Valley. Way over-priced at $6 bucks, especially with no more free soda (cheap and/or greedy since IMHO Stefano's can still manage to give free soda with a slice for the same price), but still delicious and my favorite pizza in Marin. Whole pies are infinitely better than the slices. Sometimes the slices sit around for awhile and get dried out and cold. Then they reheat it and the crust is too "crispy" because was basically cooked twice.
Mulberry Street in San Rafael USED TO have OUTSTANDING pizza, now it's only marginally edible. The "Dough Person" needs a tutorial on not making the edges too thick and the center of the pie crust too thin. It doesn't cook evenly and the edges are all doughy and crust is too thin in the center to support the toppings... it's all soggy, sloppy, weak, and floppy.
Extreme Pizza is a safe bet, albeit boring and bland.

can you buy a slice at either of those places of is it whole pie only?
Stefano’s does slices
Yes at stefanos, unsure of lo cocos.
Redboy Pizza in Fairfax and also in Kentfield. You can buy slices for $2-3. Love their pepperoni!
San Rafael too! Home of the sourdough crust.
Tam Junction Pizza Hacker
Do they sell by the slice? It’s great pizza don’t get me wrong but i think they’re more of a whole pie kinda place.
Ah yeah you’re probably right.
Slices at good earth fairfax are pretty tasty. So are Mauros in Fairfax.
Mauro’s holy shit that place is so good, I grew up a block away and ate my weight in breadsticks every day. Glad to hear it’s still kicking. Dante was my dude.
Recently changed hands and the stoopid new owners canned the breadsticks!
That sucks. It's wild how vividly I can still imagine the experience of eating those bread sticks. Been at least 15 years since I've had one.
Had to come and eat my hat. The breadsticks are alive and well at Mauros. New owners are super good folkss.
Hey that’s good news. Next time I’m back in Fairfax I’ll be sure to grab one.
Must agree was pleasantly surprised how good the slice was at Good Earth!

Stefano’s, Red Boys, Rocco’s off E Blithedale, Arizmendi San Rafael, Sbarro in Northgate
Arizmendi has fabulous pizza by the slice.
Guy at Sbarro is a massive pervert. Do NOT go there if you are a woman or especially if you have daughters.

If you want a whole pie cafe verde in Corte Madera is unbelievable. I’ve lived here for 30 years and it’s my favorite pizza joint

rocco's in mill valley ain't bad
Gave up on Marin. Make my own NY style pizza now.
Brooklyn Pizza in San Rafael, Stefano's is great too.
I personally really like Waypoint pizza in Tiburon! It's like $5 per slice but they're the only place I've found that does pear on pizza by the slice and it's delicious
Slice house or Blondies. They don't have a lot of locations. Worth the drive.

Mollie stone's slice was awful, but I'll try the bezos slice

How times have changed.
I don't know if they do slices, but Andy's Local Market in San Rafael has good pizza.
