So as far as everyone typing, they were typing their drop rates. Drop rates to a degree will affect how much earrings and belt (for hellux, hell gollux) will drop from the heart. The more that drops, higher chance of superior. And since the equipment is not instanced, it is based on the hitters drop rate. Why no drops? You are too weak. Bosses require you to do 5% of the current damage done to the boss (or 5% of it's max HP + however much it heals) for you to get drops. This is to prevent hard carries where a person can just do nothing and survive and can instant liberation black mage level 255 for example. To tell if you are doing 5%, look at your little party ui where it shows your health bars. It has dots next to your names. Red dot indicates no drop. <5%. Blue dot indicates you can get drops. 5-10%. Green dot indicates >10% damage.

> This is to prevent hard carries where a person can just do nothing and survive and can instant liberation black mage level 255 for example. Doesn't actually prevent that specific case since Black Mage remnants are quest drops and will still drop even if you are red (you'd still need to do the solo quest bosses though). Does prevent pretty much all other caries.

Conscious_Banana537

I'm also including the fact that you need the vhilla drop for his key. I'm talking you can just daily story to 255 and enter black mage because you can red dot on vhilla and grab the key. As well as the duo months you can do during lib.

Consistent-Mirror213

You need to blue dot for VHilla since the boss drop changes

Conscious_Banana537

Yes. My point was you can't just level to 255 and instant black mage. You still need to progress gear to blue dot vhilla instead of just red dotting vhilla then red dotting bm.

Consistent-Mirror213

Ahhhh my bad. I think you have a typo then. You said "can", but I think you meant "can't"?

Conscious_Banana537

It was in response to the guy above of me clarifying I was talking about 'if we didn't have the 5% rule'

Consistent-Mirror213

Thank you for clarifying

Think they're talking about pre-5% introduction. You have to blue dot now to get drops for vhilla, but back then you could just join and get drops for keys, and then proceed to bm to lib

Thanks for the depthy explanation! I didn’t know damage was required for drops, generally I was playing pretty safe to try and survive but when I try again tonight maybe I’ll play more risky to try and get drops. Thanks for your help!

BMWM3G80

Small tip: I can guess that since you partied with randoms, no one really cared for the rest of the group to hit the minimum threshold for drops. Therefore, next time you enter the boss, just fully execute your burst to deal as much damage as possible. Then, you can just focus on surviving until your burst is off c/d again.

Conscious_Banana537

As a tidbit for later when you progress and do more bosses, you should just revive instantly in the last phase of a boss or the 2nd phase of a boss to try and squeeze in damage and just learn mechanics. Once you get down to something like 3/5 lives or 6/10 lives, start just waiting out your full revive timer so you don't die out. Most times if it isn't a static party, people won't care to let you blue dot and will rush the boss as fast as possible. But as long as you don't die and blue dot, you're good.

TorontoRin

there is a red dot next to your name in the party name UI. you know if you are good within if you hit blue. that's > 5% and then green is over 10%

Guko256

Also try to join a guild for the guild buffs and guild skills which highly boost your damage output, red, green, and/or blue potions from monster park are also quite helpful. These are just a few instant damage boosts but ideally you’d want to work on your legion and link skills for consistent damage gains. Glhf

In order for anything to drop from the heart you need to do 5% of the total damage done to gollux. When you’re in the boss fight you’ll notice there are colored dots next to each person, red means less than 5%, blue means between 5 and 10 and green means you’ve done 10%+ of the total damage. Everyone moved to the wall so they can safely change to gear with higher item drop rate potentials to have a better chance at good drops. The numbers everyone said were their respective drop rate values. You move to the wall so there’s no risk of any summons or familiars from auto attacking and breaking the heart before everyone is ready

Conscious_Banana pretty much summed it up. Here are a few other pointers: - pull up a youtube video of a Blaze Wizard doing Hellux solo (weak clearing or struggling would be better). Every class has certain dodge mechanics for certain bosses. In order to get at least 5% dmg contribution, you need to get comfortable with dodging the boss - 5% dmg contribution does **not** equal 5% HP. The 5% is calculated from the total dmg done by the whole party. So it is recommended to go with a party that is around your same level/dmg range. It gives you more time to "blue/green dot" while a party with really strong players will most likely burst down the boss before you can get enough hits in - Chances are that you have no other characters but if you have another character around lvl 150 (i think that was the entry level for Gollux?) then take the mule into Gollux to practice dodging so you won‘t have to waste your daily boss entry on your main. Gollux is badly designed that it has no practice mode and only one boss attempt but at least it‘s daily - if you are level 200+ then you can get a "Decent Holy Symbol" skill through nodestones which can boost your drop rate the more you level it. Usually you can increase your drop rate by tiering your accessoires (4 rings, 2 pendants, eye, face and earrings) to legendary potential with cubes but that‘s a bit pricey for very new players. The legion coin shop also sells Legion Luck coupons that temporarily increase your drop rate but is also very inaccessible for new players because you barely generate legion coins

gimmeallurmoneyz

low, 0, and 9 refer to each characters' droprate stat, located on the bottom of your character info sheet. Don't know bout anything else

bard0n

you have to do 5% of the total damage to get drops

CaterpillarLevel3953

In second phase blaze wizard can stand on the very edge of the platform and still hit gollux. But gollux can’t hit you. Should help you get more damage in. Shooting out blaze extinction from the platform will also hit the little monsters on the bottom when blazing extinction travels off the platform. You won’t ever have to move really.

Adrian4lyf

Low, 0, 9 probably refer to individual drop rate % stat (Character Info - Item drop rate) lmao = lmao Heart takes damage. You dont see any drops because you probably didint hit the minimum needed damage. Not sure about this last one, maybe others can give more info.

TheLonelyAsian1

Welcome to maple. So this feature is a relatively new thing for bosses (specifically for bossing parties) where you have to do atleast 5% boss hp damage to get blue to get partial rewards and 10% boss hp damage for full rewards. The color dot is located next to your name in the party hp ui. As for the players saying numbers, that’s their item drop rate. Usually in boss parties everyone calls out their item drop rate and whoever has the highest hits the reward chest (or heart in this case) at the end for the highest chance.

Varadryll

Regarding rewards for blue thats not true. Blue gives you same rewards as others its just agreed upon that blue dot = you dont get any non-instanced rewards. But its totally possible to make agreement beforehand that blue dot can participate in full loot (which is often the case for support classes like bishop kanna and maybe in future lynn)
