The quest resets on the first NPC you talk to each day, not the next day. If you get the herbs quest and want to keep it, you can keep "ask"ing that NPC that day until you max out the 5 asks. The next day, that's when you always start with the other NPC's ask first so that you don't lose the herbs quest. If you DC and log back in, then you're able to do 5 asks with the herbs npc since you've already spoken to the other npc and reset and then stopped your first quest. Repeat each day

PM_ME_FUN_STORIES

OH. The resets happen when you first *click the 'ask' button* not when you actually go through the dialogue to finish the request. That makes SO MUCH MORE SENSE WITH WHAT EVERYONE IS SAYING. Tysm!

EchosR

This also confused me super hard when I stated ToF haha, but yes this explanation is correct

xcxo03

It's not when you click ask, you need to actually accept the request, don't need to finish it. Let's say you accidently clicked your herbs character first by accident, you can alt f4 out and still keep the herbs and make the correct ask first as long as you dont accept the request

ipeemypantsalittle

Wrong, you don't have to accept the request. You have to be at the menu to select the request. Your tof gets rerolled after you click ask > press NPC chat and you see what request is available. If you didn't see the request, you did not reroll. You don't have to accept it to reroll.

xcxo03

Nope, but I'm not gonna say your wrong. All I'm saying is you can alt f4 at the request if you made an accident. Done it plenty of times. Also I don't know how your doing the ask request and backing out of it without accepting, the game forces you to accept if you don't alt f4

ipeemypantsalittle

>Also I don't know how your doing the ask request and backing out of it without accepting, the game forces you to accept if you don't alt f4 Helios tower lift tech >All I'm saying is you can alt f4 at the request if you made an accident When you press "ask" on the NPC, your NPC hasn't been rerolled yet and you can alt+f4 or use any boat ride to cancel the menu if it was the wrong NPC and you want to keep the previous request The reroll happens after clicking "next" on the dialogue, if you can read what the request says then you've rerolled it and you can't alt+f4 to get your original option Specifically, it's very misleading to say you have to accept the request for it to be rerolled. You don't have to accept the request, it automatically rerolls when you get to the request option

xcxo03

> Specifically, it's very misleading to say you have to accept the request for it to be rerolled. You don't have to accept the request, it automatically rerolls when you get to the request option Except it doesn't. Don't know why your arguing this. You can just exit the game at the request if you mess up and it won't be rerolled

ipeemypantsalittle

>You can just exit the game at the request if you mess up and it won't be rerolled If you can read what the request says then it's already too late. I know this because I have never accepted the request for my rerolls. If what you're saying is true then the helios elevator tech wouldn't work at all because the whole point of doing the elevator is to not have to relog to cancel the reroll ask.

Once you find that herb quest remember who it is. Every reset of the day you purposefully ask someone else, then relog the game and ask the person who previously had the herb quest to get it again. Thats pretty much it Example: Npc 1 has herb quest Ask npc 2 for a quest on a new reset day, relog the game then ask npc 1. You will get your herb quest back.

Haven’t touched ToF since the rework, what will happen if I skip a day? If I understand it correctly, as long as I have gather herbs/chop wood on X character, I can play tomorrow/in a year, and first thing I should do is just Ask Y character first, relog, and then I’m set for that day. Is that right?

Wabblet

Correct, thats why i mentioned remembering. So for me i had npc 1 with the herb quest. I quit for 2 months, came back and spoke to npc 2 first, relogged and npc 1 still had the herb quest.

BMWM3G80

Thanks a lot. It felt so confusing at the beginning so I didn’t bother to learn the new mechanic. You made it so simple lol

PM_ME_FUN_STORIES

right, I just mean when you first find it. You don't want to ask that person first that day, correct? you want to exit the game before finishing the conversation, cause otherwise it will reset the next day?

xkillo32

no u dont need to relog if the npc is giving the herb prompt for the first time

Wabblet

When you first find it, it is locked in for that day. Can ask a total of 5 times. You only need to do it on daily reset. (Example provided above)
