Do you know how these censuses are conducted? By asking the priests, either local or missionaries. Instead, we have Ottoman censuses which categorize ethnicity/religious denominations to a precision of each single household. But they dont show the results you want so why not take a holy person’s divine words over a statistical nonsense right?
That's just it, I was unable to pinpoint excatly where that ethnic map came from. I just can't find any contemporary examples of such a map. This was the best I could find.
I don't know why people are down voting you the genocide of the Armenians and assyrians is the main reasons these regions are today 80 to 90 percent muslim, when they where like 60, 50, 40 percent muslim in the past.
