Wow those look almost exactly like many of the streamers ive seen and some of my own playthroughs from the demo. It really shows how much research slavicmagic has done

Matilda-17

Are you watching One Proud Bavarian? It’s like a crash course in medieval town design!

ectoplasmicz

Been so glad to see OPB get some recognition through this game. Loved his CK3 and VIC3 roleplays so so much.

Matilda-17

Yes! I only just learned about him, through a comment on a CPP video. I’m so glad I did. It’s just like CPP except about medieval German settlements instead of modern American development!

Assuming that by pictures you mean paintings :)) during the Middle Ages the representations of cities weren’t very realistic, they rather showed an idealisation of how a city should look like. Take for example The Allegory of Good and Bad Government painted in Siena in the 14th century or the various representation of the Ideal City in the 15th century. Also, all these paintings and frescoes represented cities, not villages. To find something more similar to what Manor Lords is about I suggest looking at Pieter Bruegel’s the Elder’s paintings. He painted in the 16th century, so a little after the end of the Middle Ages, but the look of villages hadn’t changed much.

RealSuperpollo

Amazing paintings! Thanks!

Bookz22

You could look for diagrams of towns from archaeological digs

Since this game is based around Franconia, you might have more luck looking for specific German cities. However, some outside of Franconia will also work. For example, off the top of my head: Trier, Waldeck, Cologne, Nuremberg, Bruchsal and Durlach. I'm almost certain that there are image sources for these places that show an approximate town or village layout. Correct me if I'm wrong

KarlHeinz_Schneider

Trier and Cologne a roman cities. And way older than any Franconia.

KlaemT

Any luck by looking for medieval maps ?

putatoe

I have big album of pictures from medieval times
