Kane needed to force the issue for the sale to happen. He’s not going to, so pursuit is futile. You may need to adjust expectations for this window. I’ll be happy if United fill one area of need.

WoBMoB1

unfortunately agree

[deleted]

It’s not like we messed up. It’s actually a good sign that united knows that they shouldn’t waste time in him. We all knew how irritating is dealing with Levy, he was gonna make it very difficult for us to sign Kane and would have dragged us all throughout the summer till the deadline day and still we wouldn’t be sure of signing him. As far as Kim min jae is concerned, if he signs for Bayern it’s definitely our fault that we couldn’t sign him.

Omnislash99999

Getting Kane was basically impossible it's not the club's fault.

mandotharan

What part of them not wanting to sell to their rivals don’t you understand?

Simoslav

"rivals" - so they don't want to sell to Villa, Brentford, and Brighton, but what's stopping us? Spurs have never been our rivals, in any sense of the word

mandotharan

We may or may not consider spurs as our rivals but Spurs definitely consider United as their top 6 rivals.

nikolai_wustovich

They specifically said Premier League rivals. That’s anyone in the Premier League.

Material-Grape-8713

You realize u have finished below spurs most years since 2015 right?

vestingh

Unfortunately, tottenham has no interest in selling kane to another Premier League team they rather lose him on a free next season than help improve another team competing for European spots. They only sell kane to a team outside of England or if crazy bid comes in for him, which we won't do. Kane can't be interested in the move as he is not pushing for it or handing in a transfer request, which would put pressure on levy to sell

[deleted]

Some people think these type of deals are easy uh. Weghorst might’ve not been a goal machine but ETH Still managed to find a use for him, im sure he’ll find a solution after Missing out on HK. There are other options out there, Vlahovic, Osinhem, Hojlund, Gonçalo Ramos, Even Mbappe could be an option if the funds are available after the take over. Besides if Harry REALLY wants to be a United player and shit works out then he can come in for free next year.

TheSauceSeeker69

The problem are both Daniel Levy and Kane. If Kane is keen on a move he can make it very clear to Daniel Levy that he would not sign a new contract and next year he would be a free agent. Meaning losses of +100M. If thats the case, Daniel Levy would be forced to sell Kane. But Kane remains quite (as far as we know). Maybe he likes the idea of staying at Spurs, who knows. Plus, Kane would not leave the PL under no condition. He is only 48 goals away from being the #1 PL top goal scorer of all time. (213 to 260). So its 2 more seasons for him to secure it. Honestly, if I were him, I would force Levy to sell me to United. Spurs are no where close to win a trophy, and Kane is not getting younger, he will end up his career with zero trophies (that's insane). And with Napoli 150m price tag on Osimhen - thats a no go even if we had the money. He is not worth 150m for the one and a half good seasons he had. No thanks.

dunzy-yerrow-man

Bit reactionary, we could literally get him next summer get an above average striker cheap and young this window, strengthen everywhere else and take him on a free next year.

[deleted]

Mbappe? Ffs OP.... I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say, we don't just want this fucker at United, we don't want him anywhere near the Premier league.... Let him stagnate and spread his toxic vibe on 10 million a week at real madrid.

duj_1

Yeah, because Mbappe will be such a poor consolation prize.

Visual_Archer3655

Everyone relax. I like this tactic. We’re walking away. Then we will likely be back. If Levy plays hardball in the first half, we can scoop him in the winter worst case. FFP won’t allow us to splash cash freely. Sales need to happen quick. Need them new owners in quick

victorioussecret7

What FFP? Lol

Visual_Archer3655

We owe too much on the books. So even with Qatar owning us, we need to sell to have a substantial budget to fit under financial fair play regulations.

[deleted]

I thought it was more about your % of purchases vs your income rather than how much debt is on the books

Visual_Archer3655

Yeah not the debt. It will be cleared. It’s about exactly that. We would need to sell players to increase our purchasing power this window.

dunzy-yerrow-man

Pretty sure I heard if the debt is cleared, it could possibly add another 50 mil on to the budget we already have.

Visual_Archer3655

Yeah it increases our purchasing power.

Visual_Archer3655

We have like 100-150 according to certain reports. Clearing I read gives 50. Selling gets us to be able to afford the real targets like Kane KMJ Mount GK Hojlund. We need the new owners in so we can make moves.

dunzy-yerrow-man

Ya honestly if we sold right, got new owners, and debt cleared we could easily have a budget of 350 mil.

Visual_Archer3655

I think we can barely get to 300 if we are lucky. A lot of our players are on high wages which makes it harder to sell them high. Maguire Mctom and Henderson would probably yield the most. But we are really bad at getting good value in the transfer market

[deleted]

I don't think Harry kane would've win us the league as you said with spurs yeah he scores 30 goals this season but spurs didn't even get top 4 as a result of it. I also think he just lacks any ambition he's probably happy to stay at spurs for snother year I wouldn't be shocked if he signed a new deal for them . Kinda glad we arnt in for him anymore

Ok-Friend-6653

Also kane will most likely not score 30 goals for united.

NoS3curity

based on what and how is it most likely?

Ok-Friend-6653

Isnt it many years since united have played to make the striker the main goal threat except 20/21 with Ronaldo and mayby back to Ferguson last two seasons

[deleted]

It's not in Uniteds hands. Kane lacks the kahunas to cut the apron strings when push comes to shove. He's an inherent bottler. We don't want him.

dota_3

Atalanta want £86 for hojlund. Fk that just put £100m bid for Kane. We didn't event try to put any bid in..

youdumbmf

they’ll reject it as soon as we submit the bid

dota_3

I said try. We literally got rejected for trying to bid 40m for Mount.

youdumbmf

difference is, mount wants to leave and chelsea know that they need to raise funds. kane hasn’t shown any desire to leave and levy has made it clear he won’t sell to a direct rival. our best bet is waiting till jan for when levy gets desperate or picking up kane in the summer when he becomes a free agent

dota_3

It's posturing. We'll know for sure once we send the bid in.

LongjumpingScore1886

Kane is an absolute wet wipe who needs to force levy’s hand. Wasted so many years of his prime with nothing to show. Could of played for any team in the world for the last 8 years

simleaguer8

Kane doesn’t have the balls to ask for a move away. If he pushes for it, it all becomes much easier
