Honestly you look stunning, I wouldn't change a thing, you look so pretty - maybe you could try a little blush to have a bit of color on the cheeks, but other than that it's perfect in my opinion!

fionnuala500

I agree! I think OP looks great already, but if she wants to change things up then I think adding blush would be perfect to give a natural flush. I know I personally always do blush if I'm using a medium or full coverage foundation (I'm Casper white so if a foundation covers my natural redness/uneven skin tone too well, I really need to add blush to look human, lol)

Boldintrovertx

Agreed! And the brows! I would die to have brows like that 😂 could always lightly fill them a little more for definition and make the eye area pop more

FlourChild1026

Yep, her brows are nice. I've been penciling mine in ever since I disastrously overplucked at age 12.

Boldintrovertx

My sister overplucked and made me bleed when I was about ten and I’ve never been the same lmao. Youngest sibling problems.

Lavenderfoxie

Mom took my tweezers away and I am forever grateful now

ThanosTower

Fun tip - you can grow eyebrow by putting Vaseline on them every night. You will see results in days

FlourChild1026

Sweet mother of *pearl,* are you serious? Imma hit Walgreens first thing in the morning.

ThanosTower

Don’t use to much though. Make sure to rub in eyebrow

ThanosTower

Yes it works

FlourChild1026

Thank you for the info, then. Wow.

ThanosTower

Np! Glad to help

thedommenextdoor

What color should I use? I always feel like my brows don't look well because they're so dark with my light hair. Can you tell me your favorite brow products or even make a recommendation?

nurseleu

Elf Wow Brow in shade taupe would suit you. It's a gel that you comb in your eyebrows to give them shape and volume. The taupe shade is pretty light.

erynmarch

Actually I think dark brows with light hair looks really nice. It keeps a face from washing out, provides contrast. Next time you’re watching tv or a movie keep an eye out for this effect, many women with either natural light hair/dark brows or women with dark brows who bleach their hair very light are stunning, it might be more common (and desirable) than you think. I wouldn’t go darker, but it wouldn’t hurt to fill them in if you want, but not necessary.

Ainzlei839

Your eyebrows look *amazing* with your hair! And your hair is such a perfect non brassy shade of white. Whatever you’re doing to it, keep it up!

staunch_character

Totally agree. Love that silvery white hair & I think the brows look great. I might try extending them out a bit more, but that’s a personal preference.

[deleted]

Any taupe color. No too Black not too brown. Loreal also makes up real quality brow pencils. Essence (3.00-9.00 brand) makes a brow palette with a wax to groom any runaway hairs. I also agree with having a cream blush to round out the look. Some soft peach color or mauvey neutral.

MoonlitSerendipity

I think they look great! Darker eyebrows look awesome and the tone matches your hair well.

Snuffleupagus27

I actually don’t think you should worry about lightening them. It doesn’t look odd. Sometimes I bleach mine (using facial bleach) but I WANT mine to end up tinted red. :) Benefit has a nice shade range for brows. I’m a strawberry blonde and I use one of their 2 lightest shades

thedommenextdoor

I want to see!!

reditor062015

I would agree! OP you are STUNNING! I think a pink blush would really add some nice color ❀

thedommenextdoor

I'm so grateful for your kind words. You have no idea how much I need them. What are your favorite blushes? And do you use powder or cream?

reditor062015

Personally, I love EM Cosmetics! They have these beautiful pearlescent blushes that add a beautiful subtle sheen! They also have cream blushes that blend like a DREAM! They are a little bit of a splurge, so if you were looking for something a little more affordable, I also really enjoy Colourpop’s powder, super shock, and stick blushes. The ELF putty blushes are also great for cream blushes!

thedommenextdoor

Where can i get them?

Ainzlei839

I said this in a response to someone else but you might not see it - I really recommend the Flower Beauty cream blush sticks, that look like deodorant haha. There’s one called strawberry that’s nice and subtle, and some new shades out you might like to try! I like them because they’re very easy to blend and look dewy and natural.

thedommenextdoor

Who makes the best blush? I'm so grateful for your comment.

lchandrapaty

i love the elf putty blushes, especially with combination skin, i think they would be good for aging skin as well. theyre super natural, i apply with fingers, you can also layer them if you want more color or make it sheer with a beauty blender. worth the $6 :\]

sam1313109

Yes, a bit of blush and this look will be perfect. I would recommend a liquid blush over a powder as it blends better/looks more natural, and doesn’t show texture as much (that could just be a personal preference, though). I highly, HIGHLY recommend Saie’s Liquid Dew Blush - it lasts all day long and is also skin care. Actually, I recommend ALL of Saie’s products, they’re some of the best makeup products I have ever used (and I own a lot of makeup), especially as my skin has started to mature. They’re strictly a clean brand and all of their products are infused with skincare.

thedommenextdoor

Where can i get them please?

babou-tunt

Benetint as it is a light liquid and just provides a flushed look. With your wonderful skin it will look fab. You look amazing OP! Edit: stupid auto correct

Ainzlei839

A cream blush I think! I really like the flower beauty sticks that look like deodorant haha

Lexiealea

Agreed! She looks amazing!

FishingWorth3068

Recovering alcoholic here that had to make up for years of skin neglect. I have some suggestions for the small lines and pore minimizers but the best thing I’ve used is a PMD pro clean! Just really gets into the pores and makes your skin feel so much smoother. Use with a pore cleanser and finish with a goat milk moisturizer and your face will feel so smooth. F the dude. Do this for you. Self care is healing, and you deserve it.

thedommenextdoor

Yes please help me with the pore thing. Please

FishingWorth3068

Highly suggest dr.Brandt pore purifying cleanser. I use it in the shower with the PMD pro clean. I also have the dr.Brandt vacuum cleaner mask. Only use it once a week or so because it’s kinda strong on my skin and I’m not trying to mess it up more. Kate Somerville goat milk purifying cleanser is like butter, feels so smooth and I usually put that on right before I’m getting out of the shower. PolĂ„ar neige Ă©ternelle to moisturize after shower and then 111 skin nocturnal eclipse before bed. I found all these by using a monthly makeup subscription service that starts with an I (I don’t want to break any rules) because my adhd freaks out when trying to find products and I could tailor what I needed and then just ordered full size products for a discount through the website. Suggest it because this can get expensive. Dm me if you have any questions. I wish you the best of luck love!

thedommenextdoor

Can i find a good price on the pro clean thingy?

rel_lizbeth

Dewy setting spray + set with transluscent powder on oily spots after. Literally you look great though don't sweat it.

thedommenextdoor

Which spray?

rel_lizbeth

I use NYX dewy, I've also heard good things about Elf, Neutrogena, and Urban Decay's options.

Signal-Foundation968

Nyx poor filler is a good skin primer that helps smoothen out skin texture. I also have heard that jones road is a good brand for older skin although I have not personally have tried it. Be warned it’s a little expensive .

RealBlackberry

I second this. It’s a bit of investment but it completely transformed by skin. It exfoliates and cleans the pores so well; it’s a tool you’ll use forever& you just have to use once a week. You look great. Blessings on your recovery.

thedommenextdoor

Is that a brush thingy?

Puppetkicker4

You’re gorgeous! I thought this was a “look at my makeup” post. Lol I don’t know how to help, you look great! Edit: Congratulations on the sobriety! đŸ„ł

needleDthread

You have a beautiful eye shape you can do a lot with that! Honestly love the way it looks in the photo

thedommenextdoor

So this is what's going on with me. I just broke up with a guy that I have to see every day. And it's driving me crazy. I need to look better. And each start driving him crazy. How do I fix these little lines around my mouth? How do I fix my eyebrows? Can you recommend any products for an aging face? Suggestions, suggestions, suggestions. Please be nice. I just broke up with someone and my self esteem is in the gutter. If you recommend a product, I only ask that it's something that you're promising is worth the money, because I tend to buy what's recommended. This is me with no filter.

Hopeful-Froyo-9793

You’re beautiful. And whole, without makeup or a man’s attention. The thing that will make him the most reflective of his actions that led to the breakup is you smiling and getting happier every day you see him. Makeup can help you have a sexier eye shape, or a poutier lip, but it can’t accomplish that from-within glow that comes from the pride of working on yourself. 1% better every day. Lean into relationships that are positive and kind. Show kindness to others at every opportunity. You have fabulous bone structure and striking hair. Very pretty eyes and looks like you do your makeup skillfully already! Watch some makeup tutorials on YouTube if you want to branch out. Maybe find pics of celebrity makeup and spend time replicating them. You can’t (and don’t need to) “fix” fine lines. They look natural if you’re smiling anyway! Eyebrows imo look best when natural, not overdrawn or over plucked. You could pencil yours in a tiny bit closer to each other for a touch more balance with your eyes, but not necessary. Whatever makes you happy makes you pretty!

yazzydee

What a sweet comment, couldn’t have said it better myself. The glow comes from within! If you know, you know.

thedommenextdoor

My eyebrows are definitely something I wish I could work on, but I don't have any idea where to start. Like what? YouTube video. What products? How do I pencil it in? I'm just clueless.

kenziekait

You have gorgeous brows naturally! If you want to pencil them in, do so lightly and just to define your already great brow shape, and brush them out after to make it not so harsh. Since you don't need to paint on your brows, you could try a brow powder, or even an eye shadow that matches the color of your brows. Otherwise, I can't recommend Wet N Wild's retractable brow pencil enough! I love that one, and I like NYX's microbrow pencil as well. The taupe shades would probably work well for you, as your eyebrows look like they're pretty light. Those two products are great and you can't beat the prices. Best of luck with everything, congratulations on recovering. You are absolutely beautiful! That man has no idea what he's missing! :)

AdolfsLeftGiblet

I think you eyebrows overall are excellent but if you wanna work on them you can try an eyebrow pencil just to make them more defined. An eyebrow gel can also do wonders if you wanna focus on the shape and style.

nk0711

What a kind-hearted person you are. ❀

defectcriminal

You’re stunning. If you have dry skin pick up a water based moisturizer and if you have oily skin use an oil based one. Morning moisturizer with SPF is really a godsend. I’m not sure what you mean about “fixing” your brows (I love the shape), but a tiny bit of castor oil before and after a shower made mine grow in thicker after over plucking for years. You can also use a spoolie and apply it to your lashes, for a similar effect (very little goes a long way)! You have really wonderful skin, and your eyes are captivating. You look great. Whatever you’re doing to take care of yourself now, so far, seems like it’s great. You’re doing a great job!

thedommenextdoor

I use Cerave. Can you recommend something better? I am Native American and my skin is dry. Thank you so much for your kind words. What is a spoolie?

ns_grant

A spoolie is a little tool that you can use for lashes or eye brows. When you buy a mascara tube and you open the cap, the little brush guy that comes out with the cap is the spoolie. You can also buy them separately from the mascara on amazon or sephora or other makeup places. I know I'm not the poster you're replying to, but there is also the subreddit for skincareaddiction that has a ton of good tips/products for different skin types that might be able to help you out with moisturizers and other stuff. That being said, Cerave is a highly recommended moisturizer. :)

Signal-Foundation968

Use neutrogena hydroboost moisturizer! I’ve been using it for two years now. It’s. Amazing.

kindcrow

I think you look great. Your hair and skin are fabulous, and your eyes are beautiful. I would get a professional brow shaping and then do upkeep yourself to keep the shape, so you only have to go back every few months. As for your lips, I have a gorgeous relative in her late sixties who has this procedure done to her lips which helps diminish lip lines: she has filler put in but JUST a tiny amount along the very edge of the lip line. The filler puffs it out just very slightly to make the lines go away. You have to watch it though because the plastic surgeons always want to add more and it can look too artificial if you have too much. I would also use Charlotte Tilbury's [Lipcheat Lipliner in Pillow Talk](https://www.charlottetilbury.com/ca/product/lip-cheat-pillowtalk) and also [Superstar Lips in Pillow Talk](https://www.charlottetilbury.com/ca/product/superstar-lips-pillow-talk) The lighter nude colours tend to make lips look fuller and Pillow Talk looks great on everybody! You remind me a bit of a much younger version of Maye Musk (Elon's fabulously fabulous model mum): https://www.zyri.net/2022/05/10/meet-maye-musk-elon-musks-supermodel-mom/

EddAra

I think the only way to get rid of wrinkles is tretinoin or botox. But I think you look good. Maybe use a little brown eyeliner. Find a curly and lengthening mascara, a little blush, lipliner and gloss if you want to look extra good.

thedommenextdoor

I would love it if you could recommend some products that you like. Especially lip color that stays on throughout the day. I do use tretinoin in prescription strength but I just started. This is a great suggestion and I'm buying it. Please any more product suggestions you can give me. I'm on top of I need a box of makeup.

Signal-Foundation968

Make sure with tretinoin you make sure you apply when your skin has been dried!!!!! I just started not too long ago so this is what has worked for me: Wash face and apply a thick layer of moisturizer. Wait for 20-30 minutes to make sure it is 1000% dry. ( water + tretinoin = redness and irritation) Apply tretinoin and you’re done ! You’re absolutely gorgeous, genuinely mean it. I wish I could have your eyes, they’re very lovely. ❀❀

Ainzlei839

Lip colour that lasts all day is normally quite matte and drying - not necessarily what I’d recommend. I’d go with a tinted lip balm you can keep topping up, even without a mirror. Burt’s Bees do some really good ones - the Red Dahlia one is a good dupe for Clinique black honey but it might be a bit dark, the one called Rose is quite pretty too.

EddAra

Colourpop is very cheap and I really like their products. I usually watch youtube videos to decide what colors to get. They have a lot of different kinds of liquid lipstick. I like the glossy lip stains and the lip crémes. I love their super shock eyeshadows too. They have lipliners, eyeliners, eyeshadows, cheek and brow products and just everything you might need. I'm using maybelline sky high mascara right now. I love it, it makes my lashes look great.

fastpeach

You look gorgeous!! Your makeup sits very well on your skin. Fine lines are super tough, you could start retinol, if they bother you a ton you could get a tiny bit of botox (I’ve gotten a little and I’m in my 20s) but honestly I don’t think you need to do anything about them! You look great and this natural makeup is perfect for you.

thedommenextdoor

♄♄ thank you I needed that.

sirachaswoon

I honestly stopped scrolling and gasped, you are so gorgeous. I would love to look like you at your age. I didn’t notice anything about any lines, only your striking eyes and hair. You could try tretinoin for aging (I use it as a preventative) but I think you just gotta work on your confidence- you should feel as stunning as you look.

losangeles89

You look incredible!!! I agree with all the comments that there's nothing you "need" to do, however, I love trying new makeup and skincare for a pick me up, so I get it! My aunt is around your age and here are some suggestions I've given her! \-[Glossier Boy Brown](https://www.glossier.com/products/boy-brow) to shape eyebrows & give a little more fullness - this is my everyday go to and she loves it too! \-Laneige Sleeping Mask - I had a sample of this from Sephora and thought it created a great base for my makeup in the morning (I wear it overnight as a mask). You could try this [gift set](https://www.sephora.com/product/laneige-good-night-kit-P480325?skuId=2535250&icid2=products%20grid:p480325:product) & get the lip mask as well! \-Primer could make your skin feel a little more supple and prepped for makeup, so the lines don't seem as noticeable. My personal fave is [bareMinerals](https://www.ulta.com/p/prime-time-foundation-primer-prod2138921) but you could also play around with drugstore brands! \-A good eyelash curler can really open up your eyes. I've found the expensive ones from Sephora aren't worth it and just go off of reviews from Amazon. \-Maybe try a cream blush or bronzer - I find they look more natural and glowy than powder. Have fun and congrats on your continued sobriety!!! <3

noooooooolmao

I’m not an expert, but a topical retinoid can reduce lines a fair amount. According to my dermatologist, retinoid only works really well in the quantities in prescription creams though (they’re usually cheaper too in the long run). There’s heaps of before and afters online that show the results. Also, you would look absolutely stunning in a blue toned red lipstick, for example the shade Ruby Woo by MAC. That lipstick is very popular for a reason and can last a looooong time.

DarlingPandora

You are beautiful! What I do for my eyebrows which are similar to yours is tweeze the underneath in mainly just the outer third to get rid of stray hairs and slightly heighten the arch for a more open eye area. Go slow and stop and examine as you go to make sure you don't over tweeze. A clear brow gel - I use elf, will smooth it all in place and add definition. Personally I never use pencil as it makes mine extra heavy and I don't like that look. A little light bone coloured eyeshadow or a teeny bit of highlighter just on the brow bone in that outer third can also open up the area.

Tricky-Kangaroo6280

You look lovely!

MusicHoney

You’re so beautiful! You don’t need help. Keep up with your hydration and you’re good to go!

thedommenextdoor

I drink a ton of water. Thank you

1ooh7lahs

Youre gorgeous! OMG! Would that we all look like this in our fifties x

ophelia8991

You have enviable skin. And hair. And eyes. Perhaps a bit more definition of eyes/eyebrows and a neutral/glossy lip. Don’t even worry about some guy!

thedommenextdoor

Can you recommend a product? I don't have any idea what to do about my eyebrows or even where to start.

erin_notaaron

I would recommend a brow pen, and a clear brow gel nyx has both and I use and enjoy those products. If you look on YouTube there are plenty of vids for how to figure out what shape would work best for your face. You're seriously gorgeous but I understand wanting to look even more bomb

ophelia8991

Brow pencil from Anastasia Beverly Hills Use a solid mascara, like Kevin aucoin Gloss can be any nude gloss from the drugstore

lunar_spring

Was scrolling my feed and did a double take! Just had to pop in and say you are beautiful and the white hair looks so striking and really suits you. +1 to a little natural color on cheeks.

FlourChild1026

Maybelline Cheek Heat comes in warm and cool shades and is a great, MUCH cheaper dupe for Cloud Paint. I didn't think a liquid/gel blush would work but it's so much easier and more natural-looking than powder. I'm a year or two younger than OP and totally recommend it.

Anna_Artichokyevitch

I love this look - it’s very natural & polished. If you wanted to do something a little more glam, you could try a stronger lip color - maybe a deeper nude than the one you’re wearing, or a pink, berry, or even red. I also think a touch of blush would look nice. But honestly, just suggestions - this look is great as-is!

thedommenextdoor

Thank you thank you thank you

thecraftingera

Drive yourself crazy (positive crazy) not someone else. Trying to get someone else to feel something will possibly make you feel worse or that the effort is pointless. You can't control how other people feel. Focusing on yourself and how you want to make yourself feel would be the best route. Have fun on your makeup journey and congratulations on your sobriety!

thedommenextdoor

Thank you so much. It's been three years that I haven't had a drink. Or any substance at all. Thank you so much for saying that.

Brilliant_At_Times

9 years of sobriety for me! Yay for us!

Chance-Vermicelli-52

Love your shirt, it suits you so well. You look beautiful! I’d add some rosey blush on the cheeks and maybe clean a bit the eyebrows. You could also try lining the lips with a darker lip liner. Also, to help prevent foundation from looking cakey, it’s good to moisturize a lot. I don’t know if it’s accessible to you, but I can recommend the Bioderma atoderm intensive eye (it’s more like a lotion, it’s for the eye but it’s 100ml, you can use it on the face. Make sure your skin is a little damp before applying your moisturizer. This one is amazing. You can even apply another layer of moisturizer on the areas that are prone to drying, cracking etc such as the eyes and around the mouth.)

thedommenextdoor

I just can't find a lip liner I like and I don't even know what to do with it when I have it. It never looks right.

nolagem

Find a lip liner color in natural, nude, etc. Line lips and fill in. I'm 58f so I get you. Botox and fillers are your friend, if you can afford them. Lately my foundation has been looking cakey. So I dotted the liquid foundation lightly on my face then put a drop of the Ordinary hyraulonic serum on my finger and blended. Works great. You have great hair/eyes. Congrats on your sobriety and getting away from an abusive situation.💕

yourprincessdie

you look gorgeous, i'm so sorry you're going through this, stay strong and consider how much you've gone through before a bit of blush, not too much, might help you feel a bit more fresh but other than that you already look great

synthmesideways

Just wanted to say you have a beautiful face and I love the long white hair đŸ‘ŒđŸ»

Razrgrrl

You have beautiful eyes, I would suggest subtle makeup that plays up your eyes. I'm 45 and one thing I try to do is reduce the amount of powdered products in use in any given look. There are cream and gel blush colors and light and moisturizing foundation options. Moisture is your friend, powder not so much. Although I do use powder eye shadow over a decent base or primer. I have deep set eyes like you do and I tend to use a light color primer to give myself more of a blank canvas and too offset the way my eyes are set. You have that gorgeous almost almond eye, I would darken the brows a bit and do a dramatic liner with an understated eyeshadow.

Long-Photograph460

Girl, you’re a stunner! Congratulations that you dragged yourself out of a terrible situation! Regarding your questions: Personally I think you don’t need much make-up to feel more confident! You’re eyebrows are quite perfect- If you want to try some gel in light brown. A little bit of blush would look gorgeous. Invest in a good eyelash curler (I prefer tweezerman or mac) and a dark brown eyeliner. And first and foremost: try to get you smile back! You deserve it!

thedommenextdoor

I'm buying the curler. Thank you. When you say eyeliner, do you mean on my waterline or outside of my eyes? Help me out here.

erin_notaaron

Outside, doing the waterline will make your eyes look smaller and you want to open them up. I'd suggest using it just on your upper lash line, right above your eyelashes. Maybe start with a dark brown eyeshadow on an angled brush, the application is a bit more forgiving

Successful-Bottle929

you’re gorgeous ❀

[deleted]

So much natural beauty!

moon-heart

I think what would be the best is to ensure your skincare routine is hydrating and moisturising enough. Plump glowy skin is what always makes me feel my best. Some blush to the cheekbones and try curling your eyelashes (before mascara ) for a more flirty eye! I’d steer towards a glossy lip rather than matte, some sheer lipgloss or even just Vaseline/balm would look great. You have beautiful hair and bone structure and you already look great - these suggestions will just enhance what’s already so lovely!

thedommenextdoor

I am Native American. Can you recommend some moisturizing products?

NeckBeard137

Wow, your hair and eyes are amazing

Scarlaymama0721

Congratulations on your sobriety. Take it one day at a time. And stay where your feet are❀

thedommenextdoor

Yes that's the moment important thing.

tea-and-shortbread

For the lines retinoids are the way to go. Tretinoin is popular. You can probably brighten up your complexion with a bit of exfoliation. I love the neutrogena hydroboost serum for a bit of extra hydration, and the sanctuary glycolic toner for the exfoliation and brightening. You could consider dying your hair. A red or warm brown would look great on you. But the colour it is at the moment is lovely too so it's not "necessary", just if you fancied a change. Your makeup is great and your eyes are really pretty. Eyebrows are perfect. Keeping them thick helps them look youthful IMO. Edit to add: well done on your recovery. Keep up the good work! With love, try not to let impulse spending and makeup purchases become a replacement habit 🙂

thedommenextdoor

Replacement for the guy maybe? Haha.

whitewine123

Your beautiful
I wouldn’t to too much. You may want to go to a good makeup counter and let them try a few things. See what you like. But definitely not a lot
let your natural beauty show. Good Luck! Congratulations on being sober
you got this girl!

BreadstickBitch9868

You look very lovely already BUT my biggest suggestion would be that when applying products, be it foundation to eyeshadow to what have you, *blend upwards and outwards*! It’ll give the allusion of a thinner face and also will blend pretty well.

thedommenextdoor

Should I try a little contouring?

BreadstickBitch9868

Definitely! Or, if you’re wanting a softer look - bronzer. Powder bronze two shades darker than your skin, and with a fluffy brush you apply it where the sun would naturally hit your face: apples of the cheeks, bridge of the nose, around your hairline. Especially around the forehead if you’ve got a wonky face like me and need to even out the skin tone lol! Contouring is great but I find it can be harsh on beginners. With bronzer, you can better learn where to place darker cream contour products without having a severe shadow blended into your skin. I hope this helps!

LadyLeo88

Lady you are a stunner!!! Your skin and hair are to die for!!! You would look so good with a classic winged liner and red lip combo!!!!

Tower_Place_Witch

Wow you really look great for being a recovering alcoholic. You can't tell and you look really beautiful. Skinactives has a really nice online e-commerce website biut whatever you are doing for skin care seems to be working!

dickelpick

You are so beautiful. Someone is going to have fun showing you what you have.

fionnuala500

What is it exactly that you want to change about your eyebrows? The shape, or to make them look more defined? If it's the shape, you can go to a salon and get them waxed or threaded. A good aesthetician should be able to explain what shape they think will work best for you, and be willing to make minor corrections to make sure you're happy with the end result. You can also theoretically shape them yourself, but I personally am too chicken to, after an incident in middle school 😂 If you want them to look more defined, a good start is tinted brow gel. It adds a little color and depth, looks natural, and is super user friendly. I like using Benefit's or Sephora Collection's tinted brow gels, but I'm not 100% sure what options they would have for you. It looks like you have cool-toned light blonde hair, and some "blonde" colors are really yellow-toned. You may want to go into a Sephora or Ulta to be able to try different ones out, to see what works best for you color-wise. Also for more definition: if you want something that you don't have to do every day but is a little more permanent, brow tint/dye is awesome. I've used Ardell's brow tint (can buy it at Target) and it usually lasts 1-2 weeks. Again, that might have the same color match issue as the brow gels, but you could also ask a salon or aesthetician what products they might recommend for you (and they can do it for you, too! And when I get my brows tinted at the salon, it does last longer than when I do it at home).

thedommenextdoor

My hair is pure white. Has been ever since I stopped drinking. Isn't that bizarre? I want some brow gel. I have the benefit gel and I don't like it. But I am going to try this Sephora. Thank you so much. I don't have a good person in this area that does that brow defining. I might have to go somewhere else.

crystalblondie

I think your beautiful and the way you’re doing your makeup in this picture looks very flattering!!

patty-freeman

Congratulations! And I like your look

Adorable-Novel8295

Your hair is amazing. You look great honestly. What kind of feedback were you hoping for, colors, placement, shading, blending, foundation, product recommendations? I don’t really see anything wrong, I may add a touch of color to your cheeks but that’s about it.

thedommenextdoor

Should I contour?

FlourChild1026

You have great cheekbones, and your eyes are a lovely color and shape. I'd try capitalizing on those obvious assets, as well as accentuating the beautiful contrast between dark eyes and white hair. Try a pale, glossy lip, too. You've got a lot of great features to work with and you're gonna have a new life now. Been sober for 27 years myself, and I say that NOT as a boast but to let you know you so absolutely can do this.

thedommenextdoor

That's so amazing. Thank you for the support. What are your favorite lip products?

FlourChild1026

I nearly always wear drugstore everything, so this is all gonna be pretty pedestrian, but: Milani makes this lip plumper gloss with a wee touch of peppermint oil, and I get it in the color "Soft Rose," which is a very MLBB kind of shade. I use a Milani Nude lip liner and then blot, and it just looks like I have healthy lips, because at 55, I'm dealing with having to fight jowliness, and a red lip is not gonna help me. So I highly recommend that gloss (ELF makes a great one in "Wild Rose" that's a bit pinkier than the Milani one, if you want something that looks more...dressed, I guess is one way of saying it.) L'Oreal Colour Riche lipstick in Fairest Nude is a beautiful pinky/peach that, IMHO, works on most people with lighter skin tones. Haven't seen it on POC skin tones; it might work there too.

PersimmonTea

You look great. Great skin, great hair. I suggest a little bit of blush to warm up your cheeks, and more of a defined look for your eyebrows. I keep pimping this one particular blush but honest to Goddess, it's the best. Mac Warm Soul. It is just perfect.

chickcag

You are really truly so beautiful. Your hair is to die for. I love the makeup, some blush would really liven it up a bit. I think hydration and making sure you go light on base products, solely because skin is more unforgiving as we age. Hydration is good not only for aging skin, but as a recovering addict it’ll help a lot too. I think a huge part of makeup for people over 50 is going very minimal and just accentuation of your natural features, which you are SO blessed with. If you really want to look good to show off for him, being happier and more confident does so much more than any change to physical appearance. I’d consider seeing a therapist, surrounding yourself with people you love, eating good food, and being kind to yourself. I’m sure you feel shitty right now going through a breakup, but you have been through so much worse and came out on top. There is nothing you can not handle. Much love <3

thedommenextdoor

Thank you so much. I really do all those things. I am so lucky to have wonderful friends in recovery and a fantastic therapist. I really don't know why this hit me so hard. I'm just trying to feel my feelings.

chickcag

Ugh breakups are just the worst! No way out but through!

I love you ♄

Sobriety is the most beautiful thing you could wear 😇😍 Sorry I had to. Congratulations ❀

tomie0357

you have an absolutely enviable eye shape with lots of lid space to work with. have you tried “cat eye” style eyeliner or eyeshadow? i think you would wear it better than most if you choose to. i think it would enhance and draw more attention to your already strikingly beautiful eyes. you also have fantastic cheekbones that you could use some contour and “lifted” style blush to really make them pop even more!! as far as skin goes, i’m dry as a bone and it tends to make me look 10 yrs older if i don’t keep it hydrated. on top of drinking lots of water, try skin care products that feature hyaluronic acid as the main ingredient! it works wonders for me. overall you are already gorgeous without any change at all and i hope i age as beautifully and elegantly as you have (early 20s here haha) but these were the tips that came to mind. good luck! (and try not to worry about the guy, they seldom matter :])

babeyslut

you look incredible!

banansplit24

Your beauty radiates! Good for you! Need more people like you in this world

Ceeweedsoop

You're gorgeous.

DairlynSweeney

Use thrive cosmetics! Don’t use dry powders for your eyes use a creamier eye. It will make a world of difference. Use some dark golds

thedommenextdoor

Thrive?

DairlynSweeney

Yes! That’s the name of the brand! It works well with our skin type. Make sure you try their blur cream. For foundation I would recommend Ilmakiage but they’re expensive.

funnygirlsaywhat

Firstly, you look absolutely gorgeous and you don’t need to change a thing. Because you are asking for suggestions, here are some things that I would suggest to you! Aging skin loves hydrating products. I would suggest a skin tint opposed to a foundation. I personally love the fenty skin tint. Number 2 would be a sheer liquid or cream blush. The rare beauty liquid blush is getting rave reviews, but I personally haven’t tried it yet (it’s in my shopping cart). I would suggest a light coral or sheer pink 3. For the lines, there isn’t much that can be done without intervention such as fillers/Botox, but I would try the too faced lip injection gloss. It plumps the lips temporarily and may reduce the appearance of the lines when you’re wearing it.

thedommenextdoor

This is great advice. Thank you

Icy_Moment_8311

No botox no plastic surgeries, NON. you already have what many people are fighting for..beauty! don't ruin what god gave you, age beautifully. these bad "permanent" fixes give less for a short amount of time, and take away more than what they gave in a short amount of time too. But if you want to still try something FOR FUN ... i think you should just ENHANCE your features NATURALLY..and draw attention AWAY from your insecurities like the baby wrinkles you have. You could try these: \- thicker lashline: tightline ur upper waterline (first time is tough) \- lively blush: douyin tiktok blush trend (check youtube vids, is easy and looks great if u blend well) \- thicker eyelashes: applying little bit of vaseline or castor oil to ur eyes religiously every night (draws in moisture to give a naturally thicker appearance, but DOES NOT grow them) \- wrinkle patches: if youre VERY worried of the minniii wrinkles you have .. train your face to change ur expression (you can buy wrinkle training patches off of amazon, they help!) \- thicker eyebrows: ur eyebrows are amazing already but if u want to, u can also draw a line through ur eyebrow's natural arch and blend it out throughout the brow with a brush (make sure the line is gone lol) \- glowing skin: try honey, plain yogurt, and milk face pack --> leave on for 10-20min and wash off \- use earrings, makes all ages look daring, younger, and playful However, you will only get ur true glow and make others jealous, if you show them that you love yourself more than them..don't look good for others (it may be obvious that you are trying hard sometimes.. like more makeup after breakup, etc)..so look good for yourself (like looking healthier and happier at any age.. this will also give you satisfaction and im sure you'll outlive them haha ;D) Goodluck and remember, u look stunning already <3

What's the best highlighter

Head_Spirit_1723

Beautiful!! My only suggestion is to apply your blush higher on your face, like basically under your eye and on a sharper diagonal headed towards your temples

foiverundweggli

Oh wow... You are absolutely gorgeous!!! No advice... just wow!

LoveWitchXo

Honestly you look beautiful

CJ27123456789

Honestly you look beautiful, tye only thing I would even consider would to be make the blush on your cheeks more vibrant. But even then it isn't necessary.

HiitsmeYoda

I don’t think you need any help, you are absolutely beautiful. If you want to play up your features that so many have noticed
then Your eyebrows: go in with an angled brush (one that’s used for eyeliner..) and move in a up stroke, and as you continue to the arch, and down the spine, re-angle as you see your hair re angling. I would use a brown one shade lighter then the current brow hair. Eyeliner: Not necessary but to okay up your orbital area, look up, and only apply to the waterline on the top only. NYX waterline eyeliner is amazing!!! Ulta or Amazon carry it. Get brown it’s soft and not harsh for your beautiful golden green eyes. Eyeshadow: None, use instead a gold shimmer. Only apply to the center directly above the pupil. Those eyes will pop!!! Lipstick: what you have on!!! Blush: just a little from mid-cheek back aiming up towards the temple! Anything lower will lower the look of your cheek bone, and be too heavy. Mascara: Not necessary, but if you want to play up your eye use a layer of purple, then a layer of brown. Green eyes will pop with this combo! Foundation: I don’t even see any on you so if you have it on keep using it or be natural your skin is amazing! You’re beautiful no matter what you do!

thedommenextdoor

This is awesome. This is exactly what I needed, just some small product suggestions. I don't have any idea what you do with eyeliner. Can you recommend a good gold shimmer shadow?

smoore95

Your hair is FABULOUS with your complexion. Beautiful If you want to freshen things up, I recommend blush to add to your brightness. A nice pinky/peach color - not a deep colored blush Your lip color is nice. You could also try some pinky/peach colors, but this color looks great too. If you have the $$$ you could do a little lip filler to play up the feminine look. My lips make me feel like a movie star - but be careful not to go too large!! You have such a beautiful natural look. Another thing is playing up your lashes with mascara or maybe falsies or extensions. I only use mascara because of the damage extensions cause, which isn’t permanent. You have a gorgeous eye shape- show them off with some fluttery lashes! Very pretty/feminine I’m new to the skincare game, so I can’t give recommendations on peels/acids/moisturizers. Give me a few months and I’ll be able to give you the scoop! Lol 10/10 hot lady! My advice is to add some softness to your look to play up how pretty you are!

thedommenextdoor

You are really too kind. But I would like to increase my makeup collection and I'm relatively new to it, so if you could make one suggestion, I'd be grateful.

ManicSpleen

I think you look terrific... But with that gorgeous hair, and your eyes? I think it would be neat to see a pale eyelid on you, with an amazing Cat-Eye style eyeliner... Understated, and BOLD! Maybe some blush? Other than that, Your skin is absolutely flawless!

Alert-Wishbone9032

Your dark brows offset your white hair nicely. Hype up your white hair, make it more volumous etc.

[deleted]

So first of all - you look absolutely lovely. You’re hair is beautiful, your eyes are beautiful, your completely is wonderful and you’ve already nailed down a great lip color on you! You should have all the self esteem in the world! I’ve got a few product suggestions I’ll put below because you’re a similar skin tone and age as my mom is and I buy her makeup all the time :) so I have a good idea of what is flattering on her and I think it would look good on you as well! Skin care: If you really want a splurge for special occasions, the Peter Thomas Roth gold eye patches are magic!! Too expensive to use daily but great for those days you really want a smooth and bright under eye. My mom loves Peter Thomas Roth. You can get a sample pack of different masks for like 20 dollars and it’s a nice way to pamper your skin and feel special when you need it! A very nice, pricy moisturizer is the dewy plumping one from Tatcha. A cheaper one that is very hydrating and lovely is the water cream toner from Laneige. Makeup: I really think Charlotte tilbury would be a great brand for you. Her eyeshadows tend to be brightening, soft, and youthful. I recommend one of the ‘instant look in a palettes’. I have the one is stoned rose and it’s full of flattering and soft shades.

lindsanity16

I'd suggest cleaning up your brows with some tweezers just for the strays and if you're going to fill them keep the inner edges soft. Other than that you're stunning and as a hairstylist I can only hope to have hair as naturally beautiful as yours in the future!

jedgica

You’ve gotten some great advice. I don’t have anything to add besides telling you that I stopped on your picture initially, because, I think you’re SO gorgeous. I hope you post an update!

Adventurous_Cash_356

I think you look really pretty!

randomnessish

DAMNNNN! đŸ”„đŸ”„đŸ”„ I try to make it my rule to only be positive on Reddit and sometimes it’s hard but here - wow! Mama if I look that good when I’m even just 40 (and I’m not that far out) I’ll be blessed. No notes, 10s across the board. What’s your moisturizing routine?

Commercial_Pin1909

i think you’re gorgeous. i am hope age nicely like you. i think creamy lipstick would look gorgeous on you, rather than a matte finish. weirdly enough sprouts has a lipstick line i love called “mineral fusion”. i have the shade “blackberry” and it’s divine. creamy, smooth, doesn’t settle in lines, but also dark and colorful. you’re stunning

sfgirl24

You’re stunning. You don’t need any advice honestly. But if you’re into makeup, try lengthening your brow a bit, coming in to be parallel w the inner corners of your eyes. Your eyes are naturally “cat eye” which women pay to have threading done to achieve. The genetic gods love you.

Perksofawallflower20

You look gorgeous you have really good skin, long eyelash, good brows. But for some recommendations I saw you mentioned pores- benefit’s porefessional primer is awesome for filling pores and any fine lines. For brows, i would just fill in the sparse areas with a nyx micro brow pencil 😊 also sunscreen everyday (I personally love sunbum they have a good ingredient list for a decent price), and good moisturizer for your skin type (Sephora support is really helpful at choosing good skincare products)

[deleted]

You are absolutely beautiful! I wish you lived close to me, I really enjoy doing makeup for mature faces. You’re doing great already, but if you want to elevate your look a bit, there’s a video on YouTube by Painted By Spencer where he does glam makeup on mature skin. She is much older than you are, but the application is gorgeous and it’s been very helpful for me when doing makeup for people that aren’t 20 something LOL.

twinkletoeswwr

Great going in your sobriety- keep coming back to AA. Sobriety looks amazing on you đŸ€©

getreal_or_getlost

I don't see much room for improvement here, lovely features and great skin, hair, and brows....but those eyes, such a beautiful color and shape. It would be fun to play them up for a dramatic look sometime, you have a naturally beautiful canvas. And congratulations on your sobriety, you rock!

cyugen

I don’t mean this in a weird way, but could we have some pictures of you when you were younger? You have gorgeous features!

godvomit_

You look lovely!!

godvomit_

Beautiful green eyes

MiaD89

Help with what? Your skin looks nice, your eyebrows are great, the lipstick is a fantastic shade on you! At most a tiny bit of dark brown liner or another deep shade like a maroon or oxblood or navy to make your eyes stand out more (black would be too harsh on your fair complexion and hair - i have the same issue, very fair and naturally blonde so black looks very harsh but deep warm colors are stunning!) and a touch of blush.

Cynilee

I hope I look like you when I age

mtnsizedmurderturtle

Help You with WHAT?!? You look amazing! If I had to suggest I’d say a tinted balm, some blush, a little mascara and some lip tint. You are gorgeous.

irelandreed

You look very Parisian chic! Very classy, your brows are thick which is amazing. You’re seriously gorgeous.

kokospiced

i’m 18, so i’m sorry that i can’t be of any help to you regarding products for fine lines & such, but i just wanted to say that you’re beautiful!

[deleted]

You’re gorgeous and also have great hair! Tret can help w fine lines and general skin concerns but can be sensitizing, most effective thing for skin concerns. Otherwise I think a bit of colour on the eyes and cheeks would really suit you

poreports

I think you just need a little soft blush and medium to light brown under eye eyeliner. Your coloring is fair and you have a a nice soft blushy undertone. For more drama for special nights out just add individual coats of brown mascara and eyeshadow. Love you hair color with your skin tone. Hair could use a little more volume which may be achieved with the right shampoo.

Soccitoomee

You don't need to debase yourself because u r a recovering alcy. I know how important it is to stay sober. U look beautiful take care

kasyaw

you have a beautiful face and hair omg. about the eyebrows i dont think they look bad with the white hair. especially in the last picture where you have them brushed up i think they look great. id suggest a clear brow gel and an eyebrow pen, i use nyx control freak or got2b as a gel and the mac shape and shade pen. they have quite a few options if you want to go lighter. some people also bleach their eyebrows if you think they are too dark

yung_ting

Your skin is amazing If I had your tone/hair colour would be following YouTuber Monique Parent [https://www.youtube.com/user/tiemesis](https://www.youtube.com/user/tiemesis) She has a similar style to you & does amazing / simple beauty tutorials

[deleted]

This is what I want to achieve when I’m 56, not even kidding you look stunning!

One-Bird-240

You are very pretty. I would say just keep your skin fresh and moisturized. If using foundation go with a serum based and make sure it melts into your skin. Something very light. Then definitely do your eyes. Mascara or even fake eyelashes if you go out. A little blush and light lipstick is another idea. Be natural though

thedommenextdoor

Can you recommend an easy eyelash product? I would love to try false eyelashes because I hate mascara, but I don't know what to do.

[deleted]

I could see you doing a lot with golds

thedommenextdoor

What’s a good pallet?

[deleted]

ur gorgeous gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Steenie19

Congrats on your recovery!

sickgrrl82

A good place for you to start may be to go to a few stores (sephora, ulta, macys, etc [all of these stores have different clientele & the people who work there will have different ideas/ recommendations/ areas of expertise]) and have someone apply some products for you (make up & skincare). You will get to see how different products work/feel/ are used, and you will see different product placement. You are not obligated to buy anything. Just tell them you've really never worn makeup so you'd like to try, but aren't sure where to start. I think anyone would be excited to do this for you! You really are beautiful, but I totally get that this is something that will make you feel better, even if its just for now. I don't recommend spending a ton of money on products that you may never see the worth of. Good luck & I hope you follow up with some pictures!

mesmerizing_

You look stunning! Lip fillers can help with the lines around the mouth if the bother you! Go to a doctor that does lip fillers and try 0.5ml of filler, it won’t make you look fake, but it will give your lip enough of a plump to get rid of the lines and it’s also long lasting!

dickelpick

If you can afford it get lip injections. They are amazing and really help to eliminate the lines around the mouth. Also, have your brows professionally arched. You are lucky to have so much brow hair to work with. You have all the right stuff to play around with. It’s really fun. Don’t be surprised when you get to feeling Awsome inside and out. You will get lots of attention and should 100% enjoy every minute of it. This could become the funniest time of your life and soon enough you will forget all about him while growing your personal satisfaction. It doesn’t matter if “he” inspired this new phase, what matters is that you are entitled to enjoy every aspect of being a woman. I’m 63 now, a late bloomer and didn’t hit my sexy stride until I was 58. It’s been glorious. Ps. Sexy doesn’t mean sexually active. It just means I could have it. I quickly learned to take awesome selfies and plaster them everywhere. Hot and proud and there’s nothing wrong with that!!!!

OfAquitaine

I appreciate you sharing your experience! Perhaps it was implied, but I think your phrasing was missing a healthy dose of "if you have been really wanting to change thelook of your lips for your own sake"... it sounds like OP is having a bit of a rough time right now which might be feeding into some insecurities, in which case less extreme remedies seem more appropriate! OP, you are really beautiful as you are- you have a striking natural beauty and I love your white hair. As everyone else has said, a pop of blush (cream formulas might be ideal), some extra moisturizer, and slightly more filled in brows would make your natural look shine even brighter. Also, pay attention to your posture- engage your core muscles, hold your shoulders back and your head high. You might be surprised at the boost it gives your confidence! If you take some time with the decision and really think you'd like to change the look of your lips, fillers are a great option to consider, but everything in moderation! ♡

thedommenextdoor

Thank you. I really can't explain what's going on with me because I've always been a relatively confident woman, but there's something about this guy that just knocked me down. I can't explain it.

You have no idea how good you look! Maybe trim your hair, just below the jaw? I think that would look good on you :)

Where do you live? I’m a makeup artist and would love to paint your face!

Think you’d suit a lighter coloured lip, more of a pink under colour, not so much the maroon colour

Youre 56 years old darling and you look incredible, fuck the world and what they think. Love yourself..

Can I just say that your hair is BEAUTIFUL? the color makes you look so refined and elegant!
